British secret agent Jack Steel is framed for treason by a mole within MI6 named Craig Simm. In a key scene, Steel and Simm meet in a tunnel and engage in a brutal fight, where Steel emerges victorious and records a confession from Simm proving his innocence. The film is an action thriller meant solely to entertain audiences, following Steel's efforts to clear his name after sensitive government information is leaked and his hard drive is found with incriminating files. It targets fans of action franchises like Jason Bourne and Mission: Impossible, with most of the audience expected to be predominantly male between 16-50 years old.
1. 1st
idea for short film:
Genre: Action thriller
Plot: British secret agent Jack Steel must race to clear his
name after he is framed for treason by a mole within MI6.
Sensitive government information is leaked, and Steels hard
drive is found with
Key Scene: Steel and shadowy MI6 agent Craig Simm, who
reveals himself to be the mole who framed Steel, meet in a
tunnel and a brutal fight ensues, with Steel eventually
coming out on top, and with an audiorecording of Simm
admitting his corruption and therefore proving Steel’s
innocence.
Message or moral: This film is designed to entertain an
audience,and doesn’t carry a particularmessage.
Key characters: The key characters are Jack Steel, the skilled
MI6 agent who is framed for treason by the other main
character, shadowy agent Craig Simm, who is actuallya mole
working for a terrorist organisation.
Audience:Fans of actionthriller franchises that mix exciting
action with believableprotocol, such as the Jason Bourne
films and the Mission:Impossible series. Predominately male
audience,between the ages 16-50.
2. Filming locations:I would film the fight in and around the
tunnel at on Gravel Lane, as it is looks like the sort of quiet
and gritty backstreet where agents might go to avoid
attention.I could potentiallyfilm scenes in the MI6 offices
upstairs in Sixth Form (although there could be some issues
with this), or I could film scenes on street corners and quiet
places for agents meeting each other to pass information.
Cast: I would probablycast my friend and actor Joe Manzi as
Jack Steel, althoughI could cast someone a bit older for
realism purposes. I think I would consider casting Dylan
Reynoldsas Craig Simm, but again this could change.
