4. Active means doing something. Active readers are always doing something when reding. Active readers predict, make inferences, and draw conclusions while reading a book/text. They compare and contrast characters, places and, scenes. They evaluate and make decisions. Active readers are always doing something while reading. What is Active Reading?

12. The skill lesson I worked on today was Active reading. One thing I understand better is what active reading really is. This skill will help me a better reader because I will understand what I’m reading better. I am going to remember how to use this skill by stopping and asking my-self questions about what I’m reading. One piece of advice I would give to someone working with this skill is to think outside the box. In order to improve I will need to stop and think about what will happen next in the story.
