Improving student’s reading skills
Improving students’ knowledge and awareness about reading books
Aims: • Inform students how to find specific information from a Book.
• Gain habits of reading.
• Teaching them familiar words about book worm and getting them ask related to
the subject.
Objectives:
• To teach them familiar words and basic phrases about reading book
• To increase their awareness about reading book.
• To increase student’s ability to express simple sentences
• To increase student’s comprehension skills.
Outcomes: • Students will be able to find specific information from a text.
• Students will be able to produce a paragraph about the topic.
• Students will be able understand simple sentences and learn familiar words about
book worm.
• Students will be able to understand key words and gist..
Materials / Aids: Smart board, hardcopy, technological devices, data projector, computer, pictures.
Authentic materials
Assumptions: I assume that;
• Students know vocabulary items
• Students are in level A2+ and B1
• Students will able to speak fluently about the topic.

• Teacher asks to students’
what do you do in your free
time’ and she waits until one
student say reading book.
After she get this answer she
is trying to make a
meaningful ınteraction with
students by asking; how
many books do you read in a
month or what kind of books
do you read, and get students
answers
• Then teacher shows some
authentic materials about
books for example
dictionary magazine and
newspaper, and asks what do
you think about this pictures.
Teacher gets the answers
from students.
• After teacher get some
answers from students she
will write the name of the
topic to the board
• Now its time for presentation.
Teacher will open her slide
which she prepared before the
class
• Ss greets the
teacher back
• Ss will answer
the questions
• Ss trying to guess
the topic.
