Create a multi-media
interactive poster on the health
benefits of walking.

9. What’s cool about the micro:bit?
• Easy to code with
• Portable
• Own ‘screen’
• Bluetooth
• It has Sensors!
(speed, direction, tilt)
• Other
sensors/actuators
can be attached to it
• Programmed using
the web (no need to
install nuffin’)

10. What can you do with one?
• Make wearable tech
• Create games
• Design new musical instruments
• Control a robot
• Communicate with other internet
devices (like your phone)
• That’s just the start!

11. Today we’re going to…
• Make a ‘Rate your Mates’ app that
shows how compatible you are with
your CoderDojo friends!
• Create a 2-player game to see who
has the fastest reaction times!

12. Activity 2:
Create a pedometer that
counts your steps as you walk,
and displays them.

13. Challenges
1. Display the message ‘Ready…’ when the microbit starts up.
(Easy)
2. When the micro:bit reaches a target number of steps (e.g.
10), display a message to tell the user they’re doing great!
(Medium)
3. Allow the use to set a custom target number of steps. For
example, when the user presses Button A the target goes
up in tens. (Hard)
1. Vibrate the alarm on your phone after reaching a target
number of steps (Hero).
