Abstract – The water quality near to a coral reef site in
Jebel Ali, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) was studied.
Many Physico–Chemical parameters for water samples taken at two different depths (0.5 m and 1.0
m) parallel to a coral reef site were measured and analyzed. The data showed that the pH is equal to
6.4, 6.1 respectively which indicates an acidic environment. The average of total dissolved solids

II. MATERIALS AND METHODS
Chemicals, reagents used for water analysis experiment were of Hana, HPLC grade and were stored
under dry conditions.
"HANA Spectroquant tests Kits" are used to measure the concentration of inorganic species in water
spectrophotometrically. Instruments, HI 83200 Multiparameter Bench Photometer was used to
measure the concentration of inorganic species in water at specific wavelength (λnm), using
appropriate reagents
"HANA Spectroquant test Kits" plus spectrometer in the wavelength range 190 – 1100 nm using 1
cm matched quartz cells. Sample collection, sea water samples were collected from six points

parallel to the coral reef. Three samples were taken 8m from the shore at a depth of 0.5 m and three
samples were taken 15m from the shore at a depth of 1.0 m (Fig. 3). Samples were then analyzed

Badoo has an estimated 124 million users, a truly global operation, the site is managed and run from
London, and most of its users are based in Latin America, Spain, Italy and France.(Connell, 2009)
The list continues with Bebo at 117 million users bought by AOL. LinkedIn has 115 million users
and is a business–based social network. Orkut, 100 million users is another Google–owned site;
Orkut is very popular in India and Brazil. MySpace with 50million users once dominated the social
networking market, but declined steadily from 2008. Social networking is growing stead vastly and

Social networking is a place where the sense of popularity is known and the more friends you have
on your face book the more popular you seem to become, but is this good or bad? How many of
your 'friends' on face book do you actually know when you see them out and about and how many
of them do you interact with? Many people have taken to adding anyone they think they have
something in common with on face book for one reason or another. Just because they added them
does not mean they will ever communicate with them.
The bad part of all this has to do with status and in a society where people want to be more than just
'that person' we have come to want more friends on face book. Twitter is the same way but can be

A particular building or site distinguishes many cities. For example the Eiffel tower is the symbol
for Paris and one may say Buckingham Palace is the symbol for London. This means that a city's
identity can be portrayed through its architecture and I believe that a building like the Lloyds
building is not appropriate for the prestigious City of London. The extent to which the Lloyds
Building is a modern success can definitely be questioned. One of the aims of locating the ugly
serviceable components on the outside is that costs are saved on repairs because everything is
accessible. However the cost of cleaning the external steel is so extortionate and frequent that the
benefits are outweighed completely. Also, now that it is Grade 1 listed it means alternations are
extremely hard to make. The whole point of the design was that the building could be changed and

success rate. There is substantial evidence that some 70% of all change initiatives fail. This article
explores the argument that a potentially significant reason for this is a lack of alignment between the
value system of the change intervention and of those members of an organization undergoing the

is a 'one best way' to manage change and that failure arises from not adhering to it (Burnes, 1996).
Confusingly, there are quite a few 'one best way' approaches to change (Collins, 1998; By, 2005).
For example, Kanter (Kanter et al., 1992) offered her 10 commandments for successful change,
Pugh (1993) has his four principles of change and Kotter (1996) put forward his eight–step model.
Two, however, have stood out from the rest. From the 1950s to the 1970s, organization development
(OD) tended to be seen as the best way to manage change (French and Bell, 1999; Cummings and
Worley, 2005). In the 1980s and 1990s, the emergent/processual approach came to dominate the
field, at least among academics (Dawson, 1994; Orlikowski, 1996; Weick, 2000). Nevertheless, in
recent years there has been a growing recognition that one or even two approaches to change cannot
cover the vast variety of change situations (Storey, 1992; Stickland, 1998; Pettigrew, 2000; Burnes,
2009a). As Dunphy and Stace (1993, p. 905) argued:
. . . managers and consultants need a model of change that is essentially a 'situational' or
'contingency' model, one that indicates how to vary change strategies to achieve 'optimum fit' with

Education in Nigeria is the shared responsibility of the federal, state and local governments. The
Federal Ministry of Education plays a dominant role in regulating the education sector, engaging in
policy formation and ensuring quality control. However, the federal government is more directly
involved with tertiary education than it is with school education, which is largely the responsibility
of state (secondary) and local (primary) governments. The education sector is divided into three
sub–sectors: basic (nine years), post–basic/senior secondary (three years), and tertiary (four to seven

years, depending on the major or course of study). Education in Nigeria is provided by public and
private institutions. Education is placed on the concurrent legislative list in the 1999 constitution
that provides the legal framework for educational management in Nigeria. This implies that both
Federal and State governments have legislative jurisdiction and corresponding functional
responsibilities with respect to education. By this arrangement, a few functions are exclusively
assigned to the Federal or State government, most of the functions and responsibilities are in fact

Explain the differences between the Hayward gallery (1968) and its South Bank neighbour, the
Royal Festival Hall (1951) in terms of their planning and finishing and in the different ways they
relate to their urban context. While there are many similarities between the Hayward Gallery and
Royal Festival Hall, there also are a number of differences in terms of planning and finishing in
relation to urban context. Higgs and Hill built the Hayward Gallery, which opened on The 9th of
July. It is an art gallery located in the Southbank Centre, which is a key arts venue in Central
London. Until early 2011 the gallery was simply known as the Hayward. The Royal Festival Hall is
situated adjacent to the Hayward Gallery. It is a famous dance, concert and talks venue with a
capacity of 2500. It was the first the post–war building to listed as a Grade 1 building. The Hall
officially opened on 3rd May 1951 and was built as part of the Festival of Britain for the London

generation of electricity power required. Therefore, for every ton of cement produced, an
approximately equal amount of carbon dioxide is relapsed in to atmosphere [2阿三]. The world
cement industry contributes 7% of total CO2 emission [3]. This leads to the research of seeking
more environmental friendly cements. One of these alternative materials is alkali–activated slag
(AAS) cement. Comparing with Ordinary Portland cement (OPC), the AAS has is own advantages.
Firstly, it uses ground granulated blast–furnace slag (GGBS) as the binder material of concrete,
which is a by–product from industry production. Secondly, AAS cement has low energy cost and

In 1949, the Fitzegerald Commission into the Collery trouble articulated the idea of public
corporation. This concept was borrowed from the British labour party rationalisation of British coal
in 1947, electricity in 1949 (Tukunboh, 1990). Subsequently, in 1950s the following public
corporations were established in Nigeria: Nigeria Coal Corporation; Electricity Corporation; Nigeria
Cement Company, Nkalagu; Nigerian Railway Corporation, and Nigerian Port Authority. All these

on national interest. Some state governments have also established public corporations to actualise
their developmental interests.
The term public service can be conceptualized in two ways. First it refers to the body of officials

sense, the concept refers to the organizations, agencies, structures, departments and units which are
charged with and involved in public or governmental tasks, activities and functions. These include
