The consistent planning and willingness to tap new markets will continue to make it an excellent
choice for emulation and investment. Introduction The Coca–Cola Company is an American
multinational beverage corporation and manufacturer, retailer and marketer of nonalcoholic
beverage concentrates and syrups, which is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. The company began
its' rise to stardom with the flagship product, Coca Cola. The tasty drink was created by pharmacist
John Stith Pemberton on May 8th, 1886. The formula and brand were purchased by Asa Griggs
Candler in 1889 and incorporated in 1889. Along with the original product, better known as Coke,
the corporation offers more than 500 brands in over 200 countries. In the early 1900's, Coca–Cola
began to globalize. Bottling plants were initially built in Cuba and Panama as the US military spread
to these regions, causing a rise in demand for the Coca–Cola brand. These plants proved to be
successful, reducing shipping and delivery costs typical in these regions. Soon after, additional
bottling plants opened in Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the Philippines. (Saylor 2013) These efforts
launched Coca–Cola's investment in testing foreign markets for future expansion opportunities. By
1926, Coca–Cola had established foreign relationships and plants around the world in support of its
newly created center of global operations. In the present, Coca Cola has had its share of issues
internationally. As

What Is The Driving Force Behind The Change
Social Media: The Driving Force Behind the Change in Global Society Technology and its
applications have influenced the means of communication among humans in today's society. One of
technology's most powerful applications, social media, allows people to express their feelings and
share their thoughts without having to speak to others in person. National Anthem (2011) and
Fifteen Million Credits (2011) from the television show, Black Mirror, by Charlie Brooker show
how social media affects the interactions between people, whether that be due to sharing fascinating
news or enjoying comical relief. While the two scenarios shown were completely different, each
revealed similar depictions of media and its significance in setting societal norms. National Anthem
and Fifteen Million Credits both portray the effect of social media on the normal, everyday life of an
individual by emphasizing the hidden prominence and presence of sexual stimulation, mental
distraction, and entertainment values found within the changing lifestyle choices of society. In past
centuries, any public discussion of sexual encounters and thoughts were highly frowned upon and
viewed as taboo. The recent decade has brought about a new style of writing and art expressed in the
form of sexual appeal. Sex, and all that it entails, has become a requirement for any form of media
entertainment nowadays to absolutely fulfill an individual's need for complete satisfaction, mostly
seen in Fifteen Million Credits.

Driving Forces Of Natural Selection
Q1 Response: According to Darwin, what are the driving forces of natural selection? According to
Darwin, there are three primary forces in natural selection. The first force is variation in traits. Some
beetles are brown and some are green in color. The second force is differential reproduction. Some
beetles are more likely to be eaten by birds than other beetles, thus the less appealing beetles are
more likely to survive and reproduce. The third force is heredity. The less appetizing (and thus, less
eaten beetles), produce offspring that continue to thrive in future generations. Q2 Response: What,
according to Darwin, is the relationship between heredity and environment? Darwin understood that
organisms inherit environmental characteristics

The Forces Driving An Organization
What are the forces driving an organization to shift to analytics and be known as an analytical
competitor? Analytics is when a particular organization uses large amount of data, predictive
modeling, fact–based management, statistical analysis, quantitative analysis, and explanatory
reasons in order to drive their business decisions and actions successfully (Harris 12). When an
organization is trying to be analytically competitive, they are using analytics systematically and
extensively to think outside the box to perform an execution to compete against other businesses.
Today, organizations want more use of their talent and experience. To help them, analytics is used to

Within the company they have implemented factors such as data, enterprise, leadership, targets, and
analytics (DELTA). Through these factors, the company is able to analyze and restructure their
business model to such a degree, that their strategies can be built around it. This is what sets
Amazon apart from other companies and this is what helps make them a top online retailer. Amazon
has continuously been innovating and building their analytical capabilities to stay on top of the
market. The company was built from scratch through analytics, data collection and experimentation.
Amazon has successfully stayed on the leading edge and has remained an analytical competitor for
many years. Few ways, one can see the company's growth is through the limited tests it has
performed of new features on Amazon.com. The company rigorously quantifies user reaction before
rolling the features out to the market. Amazon also uses extensive analytics to help predict what
products will be successful in the future. Through the statistical and quantitative analysis approach,
the company recommends products to its customers based on their previous buying experience.
From the start, Jeff Bezos has envisioned Amazon.com as an analytically managed company. Bezos
wants to squeeze every bit of efficiency out of its supply chain. The concept of personalization was
based on web transaction and statistical algorithms, and now it has

The Driving Forces Of E Commerce For Asos
Critically Evaluate the Driving Forces of E–commerce for ASOS in 2015 1.Introduction In the year
of 2013, Asos sees a great revenue growth and profits all over the world. Asos continued its global
expansion and in August of 2014, Asos received 61% of the whole sale from outside UK (Asos plc,
2014). According to the report released in 16th Sep 2014, the sales of Asos grew to£975.5m in the
end of August this year. Addition to that, the CEO Nick Robertson claimed that Asos will make even
larger investments in the international pricing, technology and supply chain in order to gain more
profits in the next financial year (Mintel, 2014). In the four driving forces of e–commerce, the
customers' love comes first. 2.Customers' love There are four facets that customers may concern
(Jarvenpaa and Todd, 1997). For Asos, the perception of the product is about the quality, the variety,
the fashionability and the price of the clothes. As the largest online fashion and beauty retailer, the
3rd most popular website for buying clothes, Asos stands for "As Shown on Stage" and
fashionability. Meanwhile, Asos is developing a plan to control products quality as soon as they are
made (Asos plc, 2014). The shopping experience is another aspect which customers care about. The
website should be users–friendly. Asos is communicating with its consumers around the world by
adding websites in non–English languages even Chinese and Russian with difficult characteristics

Oppression Is The Driving Force Behind The Violence
Oppression is the driving force behind the violence in Israel. It is based on a land dispute that led to
oppression and now the violence seen today. Israel is plagued with a cycle of violence and fear.
There are many factors behind the climate of terror that is taking place in Israel, but none as
significant as oppression. The establishment of Israel by Jews led to many changes for Palestinian
Arabs, who were already living in the area. Many of these changes were oppressive and intrusive to
the Palestinian Arabs' way of life. As can be expected, wherever there is oppression, violence and
fear normally follow. Both sides have suffered losses amidst this violence. Jews claim they fled to
Palestine to avoid persecution and that establishing Israel as a Jewish state would be the only way to
ensure their safety. Yet their safety, and now the safety of Palestinian Arabs, are both unsure. In the
late 1800's, Jews across Europe began fleeing to Palestine to avoid anti–Semitism and persecution.
During this era, there was a movement known as the Zionist; the Zionists wanted to return to the
Jewish Holy Land to establish a Jewish state that would serve as a sanctuary for Jews. However,
according to the State of Israel Proclaimed (State), at this time the Zionist leadership was unable to
persuade the Ottoman Empire to grant them a charter. The following decades would see sporadic
migration of Jews into Palestine. World War I brought about more change in Palestine, including

The United Nations: An Internship Like No Other
"The United Nations was not created to lead mankind to heaven, but to save humanity from hell."
Dag Hammarskjöld , former United Nations Secretary–General
The kinds of hell Dag Hammarskjöld referred to are not difficult to imagine in a world ravished by
World War II and terrified by the threat of nuclear war. Hammarskjöld is known today as the second
Secretary–General of the United Nations (UN) and widely regarded as a man of unimpeachable
character. His career at the UN was remarkable, in that he was completely uninterested in the
bureaucratic politics many at the United Nations engage in, choosing to lead projects from the
command tent instead of the corner office. He was the first and only Secretary–General to be chosen
unanimously and is largely regarded as the greatest leader of the United Nations in history. John F.
Kennedy once said about Hammarskjöld, "I realize now, in comparison to him I am a small man. He
was the greatest statesman of our century." (Cite) The question then begs to be asked: what is the
driving force behind this man's impeccable integrity? As we know now, it was his passionate and
private Christian faith. His compassion for his fellow man manifested itself in the form of service to
millions through the United Nations. In addition, a collection of vivid personal Christian reflections,
hailed by many as one of the most

The Driving Force Of Manipulation In Shakespeare's Othello
A wave generates in the bountiful, tranquil ocean gradually it gains momentum swelling and
growing until colliding, crashing, splattering, destroying everything in its wake. In Othello,
Shakespeare creates a vivid drama that incorporates controversial social standards of race, class
distinctions, as well as gender, he weaves these ideas using bold striking characters. These
characters are molded in such a way that they are vulnerable to Iago's manipulative scheming that
consumes him. While on the surface, it may seem like jealousy is the driving force of manipulation,
it is, in fact, isolation that more dramatically impacts the manipulation of the various characters.
Throughout Othello, manipulation is increasingly developed through isolation, ... Show more

In the end of the play the theme of manipulation develops and comes full circle. Manipulation is
evolving and changing, given that we are deeper into the play Othello is so trustworthy, blinded, that
he will believe anything Iago tells him. Iago's manipulative plans have had a snowball effect. One
successful plan after the other, Iago's manipulative position has become addictive, he can't stop,
what he wanted, the military position didn't make him happy or leave him fulfilled. It merely
showed him what power he had. The power of a wave can be calm until that power is unleashed.
Iago deceives Othello by convincing his own wife, Emilia, to steal Desdemona's handkerchief and
places it in Cassio's chambers. This plan along with the scheme to turn Desdemona against Othello
is where the theme of manipulation climaxes. Othello falls down this deep hole of confusion and
pain because he believes, based on what Iago has told him, that his wife is no longer faithful to him.
Iago's poison of manipulative words and plans drives Othello down this path. Othello becomes
delusional and almost crazy, "Handkerchief––confessions––handkerchief..."(4.1.45–46). This was
Othello's breaking point, due to Iago and Iago's manipulative ways Othello could no longer piece
together his own thoughts and ideas versus the thoughts and ideas Iago implanted in him. Isolation
is the driving force that created such tragic events to occur at the end of the play. Iago has disrupted
and altered Othello's character. Othello asks, "How shall I murder him, Iago?"(4.1.88–89). Iago has
isolated everyone Othello could confide in. Othello no longer has that option of confiding in his
wife or his friends, Iago isolated them all away from Othello and thus bonded more with Iago. In the
beginning of the play Othello would have never have the thought of killing someone out of hatred.
Iago has spilled his position upon Othello. This

Essay on MADD, A Driving Force for Change
M.A.D.D. is a political interest group for all mothers against drunk driving. It was specifically
created for mothers of kids who have fallen victim to drunk drivers, whether it be in injury or in
death. Founded on September 5th 1980, M.A.D.D. has made a huge impact on the government
today and an even bigger impact on society. The idea of M.A.D.D. was first introduced by a mother,
Candice Lightner, who lost her thirteen year old daughter in a car accident killed by an intoxicated
driver. She took action and initiative after the loss of her daughter to help prevent drunk driving
accidents so other parents wouldn't have to go through the grief of the loss of a loved one, especially
their son or daughter. Whether it be spreading awareness, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

All of their efforts were supported and encouraged by the government, government corporations,
educators, the public and the media. The mothers' mission statement was also officially changed in
1999 in order to put focus on preventing underage drinking. "The mission of Mothers Against Drunk
Driving is to stop drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime and prevent underage
drinking" was then the new mission of M.A.D.D. and is still used to this day. In the year 2000,
M.A.D.D. was nationally recognized for supporting the law that the legal limit of driving while
intoxicated should be lowered from .10 to .08. The law was passed in 2005 by congress all
throughout the United States, making the chance of an intoxicated person driving and injuring
themselves or others much lower. Also, as the result of lobbying and M.A.D.D.'s efforts in changing
the law, the state of California also passed a law that enhanced the penalties and fines for re–
offenses of DUI charges as well as prevented minors from purchasing alcohol. Five different bills
have been signed to add weight to the DUI charges, as well as prevent minors from obtaining fake
ID's by cracking down on security measures and rules in liquor stores. In the state of Rhode Island,

Important Driving Forces In History
There are many driving forces in history that made a huge impact around the world. Without certain
events that have been happening; there is a possibility that we would not be where we are at now. If
it weren't for trading there would not be ways to get good from one place to another. The same goes
for technology, it has advanced throughout the years that help benefited many people for thousands
of years. Religion was another important driving force that was introduced and has spread out to
many different countries around the world. From town to town exchanging goods was an important
driving force in world history. Trading played an important role in the economy for many small
business owners. This caused many people to work so they can supply other towns or even countries
with supplies that are needed. Supplies from one of the many towns could vary from meats,

Without the inventions of tools there would be no way to satisfy human needs such as building
homes, farming, traveling and many more. As the years advance it will be easier for people to finish
thing in a timely manner and work less hard than usual. An example would be the Silk Roads.
Without the invention of saddles for horses and oxen's it would be extremely hard for them to carry
items far distances. Technology has evolved and started in agriculture, by finding tools to use for
farming such as using animals to help plow through the dirt, and using iron for the horses shoes
(Page 439). They then started branching out to find sources of energy such as the windmill to
produce power to make their work load easier. After finding sources of power they then started to
build machines that went into homes, boats, and weapons. With these events that happened everyone
around the world started to invent new things and would make the world a better

The Driving Forces Of US Imperialism
Imperialism,–a more powerful country subjugating a weaker nation to it's benefit, has been a part of
human civilization for centuries, people take advantage of each other, its human nature. At the turn
of the 19th century, the US was in a position to become the superpower it is today, after winning the
Spanish American War, a new US viewpoint came to mind, the one of an imperialist. The driving
forces of US imperialism in the late 1800s to early 1900s were to have new markets for goods to be
sold, military expansion through new bases around the globe, and a need to uplift foreign cultures to
American "standards".
Money is power, and the US got a lot of both from industrialization, but it just wasn't enough. U.S
business owners pushed their government to conquer new lands, to have new markets to sell goods
in. Hawaii in the late 1800s, was already tied to the U.S through economic treaties, but was still it's
own country, but as American businessmen increasingly sought to control Hawaii's natural resources
and wealth, they pushed for the American government to annex the islands and bring them under
their control. "These business people wanted Hawaii annexed to the U.S. This would get rid of taxes
on goods from Hawaii and make a lot of money for Dole and his cohorts." Sanford B Dole was a
prominent businessmen and founder of the Dole Company, he was fearful of the new Hawaiian

What Was The Driving Force Behind Imperialism In Africa
When India was taken over by Britain it was horrible for the people who lived in Africa. From 1500
to 1800, European nations traded for slaves, gold, and ivory along the coast of Africa. This changed
very soon when Europe pushed their ways into central Africa. By 1880 Africa was fully under
Europe's control. What was the driving force behind imperialism in Africa? The main driving forces
behind imperialism in Africa were Nationalism, economics, and resources.
A main reason for the cause of the Imperialism in Africa was Nationalism. Nationalism is having
pride in one's nation. The Europeans had this great competition for power. By controlling different
parts of Africa, they gained more power. Europe wanted everyone to see how powerful they were

The driving forces behind European imperialism in Africa was the Partitions of Africa, African
Colonies and their exports, and Great Britain and south Saharan Africa imports and exports. During
the 1800's Africa was under many European colonies rule and certain colonies used very cruel
punishments for the natives that lived there. Imperialism started as Europeans wanted to expand into
new African territories. After more European colonies sailed to africa they demanded their fair share
of land and started a new system to keep peace among the colonies, in order to divide them evenly.

Courses offered range from wine tasting to making oriental rugs to impressionist painting. The
colleges offering the noncredit courses are helping baby boomers secure a higher quality of life in
their senior years and a longer period of independence for the retirement years. –3– An AARP study
(qtd. in Trachtenberg 2) showed that over 73 percent of baby boomers said that baby boomers will
be involved with hobbies or special interests during their retirement. Baby boomers are experiencing
a different type of retirement needs than any other generation. Colleges and activity centers now
offer activities to please everyone, from flower arranging to ball room dancing to auto mechanics.
The decades–long trend of early retirement does not appeal to baby boomers. Economic factors will
play a role in baby boomers working beyond the age of 50. Due to the loss of investment in their
401(k) their nest egg is probably gone. As a result of this loss, boomers will need to work longer
than they had planned. Medical projections for the baby boomer generation is that they are expected
to remain actively fit well into their 80's. (Knable 2). Our aging population of baby boomers will
bring many changes to our society. "The increasing presence of senior citizens may present a
windfall of sorts for colleges and universities that are alert to the possibilities." (Trachtenberg 1,2).

The Driving Forces Behind Tom Robbins
The debate over whether or not possessing these qualities truly makes a wise being is a very
complicated and difficult one; however they are the driving forces behind Tom Robbins's writing.
Humor is one of the most obvious themes in Robbins's writing. His work has a sort of clever and
witty comedic aspect: And that's why when you've exhibited the slightest tendency toward self–
importance, I've reminded you that you and me – you and I: excuse me – may be every bit as
important as the President or the pope or the biggest prime–time icon in Hollywood, but none of us
is much more than a pimple on the ass–end of creation, so let's not get carried away with ourselves.
Preventive medicine, boy. It's preventive medicine. But what about self–esteem? Heh! Self–esteem
is for sissies. Accept that you're a pimple and try to keep a lively sense of humor about it. That way
lies grace – and maybe even glory. This quote not only uses strange and comedic phrasing, "pimple
on the ass–end of creation," but talks about the importance of humor. There are many laugh out loud
moments within this book. For example when Switters is on XTC and is reciting poetry to a
pumpkin and his grandmother walks in, "'Switters!' MAestra had entered the room behind him.
'What the hell are you saying to that poor fruit? Is this what nine hours of modern poetry does to a
man" (Robbins 15)? The entire plot of the book is humorous in a sense: A contradictory, 36 year old
CIA agent is ordered by his grandmother to

The Driving Forces Behind College Tuition Essay
The Driving Forces Behind College Tuition Hikes
Higher education in the United States was introduced in 1636 when Harvard University first opened
its doors. At the time, college was seen as an exclusive institution, typically reserved for the wealthy
elite. In the 1600's, a college degree was not necessary to get a decent job and make a living;
therefore, there was little demand. Since then, public opinion and attitudes about higher education
have changed significantly. In today's job market, a college degree is a requirement for a variety of
career paths. Employers' desire to hire highly skilled workers continues to increase year after year.
As a result, more people seek to pursue a degree to meet this expectation. Along with the growing
demand for higher education, the costs of attending and tuition rise simultaneously. According to the
NPR, "a college education seems unaffordable at the worst possible time." During a period where
we see a struggling economy with a high unemployment rates, and instability in wages, college
tuition continues to skyrocket. Yet Americans still find ways to pay these unreasonably high rates
because of how valued and important a college degree is in today's job market. So, what underlying
causes have impacted the rise in tuition and how far will it continue to inflate until a higher
education becomes impossible to achieve financially? Although expansions in university
administration, construction, and other amenities contribute to rising

Essay on Investigative Reporting is the Driving Force in...
Investigative reporting has been a driving force in journalism for centuries. The reporting tradition
of revealing misconduct was already well established much before the 20th Century. Its practise
even predates the publication of the first successful colonial newspaper in 1704, demonstrating the
press' watchdog role has had deep historical roots in democracy much prior to the 1960s. Over the
past three centuries, investigative reporters have tried to make a difference by raising public
consciousness about perceived wrongdoings. Prior to the early 1960s, investigative reporting was

media.
One of the most notable reporters of the time was Ron Hall, who has been considered to have
virtually invented the art of investigative journalism in Britain, as one of a trio of young reporters in
the 1960s, he created the insight team of the Sunday Times. Shortly after he joined the paper, the
scandal of the Profumo affair broke so he began to produce a weekly detailed account of what had
happened, digging deeper into the background story. Shortly after that, the first truly investigative
article written by Hall was an account of the life and misdeeds of Rachman, the corrupt slum

important investigative stories, including the Philby spy scandal, thalidomide, and the remarkable
disclosure that the yachtsman Donald Crowhurst, who had taken part in a round–the–world race, and
had faked his journey, pretending to have orbited the globe. Ron Hall was one of the most influential

Driving Force Paper
Understanding the strategic concept of a "driving force" is an essential strategic thinking skill for
any organizational unit as it is a single element and determinant of an organization's strategic
business decision and future allocations of products and services. While there are a number of
possible driving forces that are central themes and focus of the organization, however, markets,
products and services serve as the most common driving forces of an organization (Enos, 2010).
According to Enos (2010), if an organization uses products and services offered as its driving force,
then it shows that "a well–defined array of product line" is the organization's central focus (p. 80).

point mutations, frameshift mutations, and chromosomal mutations. Most mutations are not
noticeable or are harmless, but the harmful ones can cause a variety of disabilities such as Down
Syndrome and sickle–cell anemia. A second force of evolution is natural selection, where
unfavorable traits are selected against. The ability for an organism to reproduce is referred to in the
textbook as fitness. Fitness does not mean an organism is bigger, faster, or stronger; it depends on
what are considered favorable traits in a certain environment. The third force of evolution is genetic
drift, which is a random change in the alleles that make up a population's gene pool. Genetic drift
can be seen with a greater influence on smaller populations. The bottleneck effect can cause a
reduction in genetic diversity among a population; the founder's effect can result in speciation after a
small group of organisms separate from a parent population. The fourth force of evolution is gene
flow, which is where though migration organisms are able to move from one population to another

A frameshift mutation is much more likely to lead to a defective protein compared with a point
mutation because a point mutation can be a synonymous mutation where changes made to base pairs
here do not result in a different amino acid. A point mutation could also result in a non–synonymous
mutation that results in a different amino acid. On the other hand, a frameshift mutation shifts the
codon reading frame which completely alters the ordering of base pairs when it is read as a codon
which forms an amino acid. Through base insertion and deletion, the frameshift mutation almost
guarantees that it will be a non–synonymous mutation and will form a different and most likely
defective

Nucor Driving Forces
What driving forces do you see at work in this industry? Are the likely to impact the industry's
competitive intensity and profitability favorably or unfavorably?
The driving forces in the steel industry would be technology evolution. The change in the steel
making technology has transformed the steel industry. Market growth has a huge impact in the
development of the steel industry, strategies, profitability, and efficiency. Market and competition is
a factor to consider when looking at the long run of this industry. New innovative technologies such
as advance computer systems, physical models, and artificial intelligence can be used and

A competitive approach tends to be the best strategy for this commodity product industry. Nucor has
been successful in reaching relatively low production costs. Nucor has the ability to build plants
inexpensively but also operate them very efficiently. Nucor has a record of profitability even when
times are tough in the domestic steel industry, showing that Nucor has lower costs relative to other
steel producers. It could also be assumed that Nucor is cost competitive with foreign steel producers
trying to sell their products in the United States.
Is there any reason to believe that Nucor has achieved a sustainable competitive advantage over its
rivals?
Nucor's cost competitiveness is something they have developed over years. It seems as if a small
portion of domestic competitors if any at all even appear to have costs as low as Nucor. Nucor's
management teams have tried not to miss any opportunities to drive costs down in its business. This
would then provide Nucor with a sustainable low–cost advantage over its domestic competitors as
well as its foreign ones attempting to sell steel to customers in the United States.
Have Nucor's recent acquisitions over the past several decades contributed to their

The Major Driving Forces For European Imperialism In Africa
Africa was filled with a phenomenal and immense amount of natural resources. Many European
countries were in a race to get these resources and to gain land. The only problem was that a race for
this beautiful land and these natural resources deemed as economy boosters could cause an all out
war between the European nations. European countries never were concerned for land in Africa nor
their resources. That was until the late 1880s when King Leopold II of Belgium started sort of a
trend by acquiring a private "country" of 900,000 square miles in Africa. This "country" was dubbed
the Congo Free State and it was 95 times the size of Belgium. Leopold was making a gargantuan
amount of money by taking out ivory and rubber. Many European countries started to notice what
Leopold was doing and wanted to join in on finding these natural resources and gaining land. Otto
Von Bismarck of Germany proposed a conference for European countries to divide up Africa so that
there wouldn't be any wars over land or resources. Technological advancements, cultural causes, and
national pride are all important Driving Forces to European imperialism, but the main reason was
economical.

Iago Is The Driving Force Of The Plot
A psychopathic killer fueled by anger and revenge will stop at nothing to reach his goal. Iago, in his
hunt for revenge against Othello, fits this role. Or does he? In Shakespeare 's play, Othello, Iago is
the driving force of the plot and one of the most cunning villains in four hundred years. Without
looking into it, Iago could be considered just another generic Shakespeare villain; however, his
shallow emotions, high self esteem, and his dishonest nature prove him to be much more. The
average reader would not define Iago as much more than a regular evil. Before you dive deeper into
it, it is important to know what a psychopath actually is. According to Professor Kiehl in one
documentation from the National Public Radio, titled "Can Genes and Brain Abnormalities Create
Killers?", a psychopath displays a few key features: The classic definition is someone who has real
profound difficulties understanding empathy, guilt, and remorse. They 're pretty glib and superficial,
somewhat charming. They tend to get themselves in all sorts of trouble, from – starting from a very
early age. They 're impulsive, they 're nomadic, they jump in and out of relationships very quickly.
And sometimes they do, you know, extremely bad things that tend to come to the attention of the
criminal justice system (NPR 10). By this definition, Iago is considered to just be a heartless enemy.
Unlike Kiehl 's discoveries, Iago is not impulsive. He carefully thinks out his

Is The Media As The Main Driving Force Of Mass Media?
"Turning a human being into a thing is almost always the first step towards justifying violence
against a person" –Jean Killbourne
We're each exposed to fifteen hundred advertisements every single day. Therefore the average Indian
spends almost a year and half of his or her life watching these television commercials. It is one of
the most powerful educational forces in our society today and it determines as well as shapes our
behavior in real world scenarios. It's interesting to observe how the advertising industry acts as the
main driving force of mass media. The primary purpose of most television programs is to assemble
an audience in order to watch these commercials. This way, the audiences get delivered to
advertisers and in turn advertisers can sell their products.
The issue however lies in the fact that these advertisements are not only selling products but are also
tactfully selling emotions that they attach to the products. Ads sell values, concepts of love,
romance, sexuality, success, popularity, and most importantly an idea of "normalcy"(Jean
Killbounre). To a large extent these ads try to tell us who we are, and how we should be. They claim
to reflect instances of the real world however they are far from portraying reality. All the women are

Labor Is A Driving Force
Lauren Lawson Dr. Scott Testa EC201.3 December 1, 2014 Unemployment in America Labor is a
driving force in every economy. Wages paid for labor helps increase consumer spending and is
essential for companies. Unemployed workers represent wasted potential inside an economy.
Unemployment arises when factors of production that are willing and able to produce goods and
services are not actively engaged in production. Unemployment means that the economy isn't
meeting its goal of full employment. There are four basic causes for unemployment in a working
economy. These reasons are: minimum wage lages, labor unions, efficiency wages, and job search.
The labor market is just like any other market. If there are a lot of unemployed workers who want
jobs, the price of labor will drop until all that force is employed. In order to keep a certain standard
of living, the government implements a minimum wage. However, raising the minimum wage can
increase unemployment. The second reason for unemployment is based on efficiency wages. Firms
benefit by paying their workers above the minimum wage so they can produce happier, healthier,
and more productive workers. In turn, more people want to work for that position than there are
actually seats for that position. Therefore, efficiency wages can increase the wages for workers who
are employed but increase overall unemployment. Job search isn't similar to the other causes of
unemployment. When a person decides that they want to work, then he

What Driving Forces Are Affecting The Toy Industry?
1. Using Figure 2.3, describe the context facing Mattel. What driving forces are affecting the toy
industry? Continual change, vanishing distance and compressed time is what is driving the toy
industry. It mentions in the case study that Hasbro is failing to adapt by being unable to make timely
strategic decisions. Hasbro has dedicated too much of their resources in the television and movie
sector only to abandon their successful board gaming business. (Coulter, 2013, p. 49) Our text
expresses all organizations have to deal with change. (Coulter, 2013, p. 38) Mattel joining forces
with an successfully established online company is only going to benefit them in Mattel's structured
transition. Based on my research, Mattel and Stardoll will not be reducing their physical assets, they
will be increasing and expanding their product lines. It is my understanding that Stardoll was
completely an online creative simulation for children to custom create and design dolls. This
partnership will bring Stardoll's custom creativity to life on the Barbie doll. The only way I could
possibly see Mattel reducing their physical assets is if they are no longer producing the clothes and
accessories, which are used on the Barbie dolls. It is unclear based on my research if Stardolls
would take over and be responsible for producing the clothes and accessories for the Barbie dolls. In
a sense Hasbro put them in a pickle by creating distance from their already successfully established

China and India: Driving Forces of Overpopulation
According to BBC, India 's population reached nearly 1.21bn ("India census: population goes up to
1.21bn"). China is also has the population of 1.36bn according to Chinese Government ("China
Statistical Yearbook–2014"). That 's almost the half of the Earth 's population.
There are negative outcomes of this situation like poverty, depletion of resources and disturbed
cultural structures. Actually there are more than that but i want to stay on the line. There must be
some measures against overpopulation. How well China and India do at taking measures? What are
they doing to control and maybe to decrease their population? Are those laws working? We have a
lot of questions to cover and a very little space to write.
The problem is overpopulation and those two countries are sharing the biggest percentages in world
's population when it comes to population. Their overpopulation problem is increasing poverty day
by day, depleting food sources, distorts cultural traditions and standards.
If the problem continues this way, our world's economy will start to lose strength. China is already
dominating world economy thanks to its massive and cheap muscle force. But when it comes to
microeconomics, public suffers from poverty. Increasing population means decreasing job
opportunities. China and India is beautifully fulfilling their duties towards the crisis.

Driving Forces Behind The Progressive Movement
I believe the driving forces behind the progressive movement were women of the era. Women such
as Jane Addams, Margaret Sanger, and Alice Stone Blackwell devoted their lives to reforming the
world and creating change in the political sphere. The beginnings of the progressive movement in
the United States had its start in the early 1800's, but didn't really start gaining ground until the late
19th century when a new middle class tired of the excesses of the Gilded Age. This era brought
about fortunes and extreme poverty, labor clashes between working class and companies, large–
scale immigration, and other events that made the middle class nervous. Herbert Croly wrote the
"millionaire and the trust have appropriated too many of the economic opportunities formerly
enjoyed by the people." (The Promise of American Life) The progressives had many goals: votes for
women, labor improvement laws, prohibition, and many others. Women stood at the forefront of
change in the earliest parts of the 20th century, pushing back against societal restraints and
expectations of family and marriage. The reform movement was ideal for these ... Show more

The Driving Force In Policy Making In Canada
The Driving Force in Policy Making
Public policy has a profound impact on many areas and activities in life. Despite the importance of
public policy for individuals and institutions in all sectors and industries in society, there is much
confusion with regard to who serves as the driving force in policy making. Given the range of
diverse stakeholders involved in policy making, as well as the important roles played by individual
actors, institutions, and ideas, an investigation into the policy making process in Canada is needed.
Which of these stakeholders serves as the driving force in policy making, and why? Based on an

degrees; the main factors affecting their ability to influence policy include their specific capabilities,
their interpretation and perception of events, and their tastes and preferences (Knill & Tosun, 2012,
p. 55). Actors are also distinguished on the basis of their being either publicly–owned or privately–
owned (Knill & Tosun, 2012, p. 56). If actors are privately–owned, they act based on their own
interests and perception of events; conversely, if actors are publicly–owned, they act according to

The Driving Force Behind Designing An Educational Plan
In America today, it is clear that one size does not fit all when it comes to education. Students come
from diverse backgrounds and circumstances, with experiences that shape them as unique
individuals with individual educational needs. Educators are tasked with examining students as
individuals and determining the best course of action for each student to learn and achieve. The
driving force behind designing an educational plan that addresses individual students' needs is
courageous leadership that is willing to implement change. Additionally, educators must consider
socioeconomic differences of student populations. Finally, schools must move beyond traditional
universal learning and find ways to inspire students through personalized learning plans.
When an educational system realizes that one size does not fit all students, leaders will rise to bring
about reform to meet the needs of students, leading them to success. Education reform requires
forward thinking, courageous leadership to insist on an individualized approach to learning. Just as
health care provides diagnosis and treatment, education should focus on the unique needs of each
student (Reville, 2015). Individualized learning plans can benefit all students, not just those
identified as gifted, or those with specific learning disabilities. Courageous leaders recognize the
effectiveness of the inclusion of ESE students into rigorous academic programs. Learning alongside
honors students, with expectations set high,

Thomas Cromwell Was The Driving Force In The Break With Rome
Do you agree with the view that Thomas Cromwell was the driving force in the break with Rome in
the years to 1534?!

9 and 7 also tell us it was driven by henry wanting a divorce ! Conclusion: I believe that the break
was not driven by cromwell but a variety of other reasons (quote source 7 and 8 'succession

Thomas Cromwell was an adviser to Henry VIII, responsible for drafting the documents that
formalised England's religious and political break with Rome during the 1530's. It can be argued that
he was the driving force behind the break from Rome. However it could be other reasons such as

Source 9 and 7 disagrees with the statement and tells us that Henrys wish to divorce Catherine of
Aragon was the driving force in the break from Rome. Source 9 is a letter written by Eustace
Chapuys it tells us of his suspicions to why Cranmer was promoted to Archbishop of Canterbury, "to
the great astonishment of everybody". He tells us that it is suspected that Cranmer has been made
Archbishop as he "may authorise the new marriage in this parliament and can grant the necessary
divorce". Promoting Cranmer to Archbishop so hastily without consulting the Pope shows a clear
break and the cause is shown to be the Henrys haste to gain the "necessary divorce". Source 7 says
about the Act in Restraint of Appeals that "in earlier drafts of the act, specific reference was made to
the King's divorce and the problems of succession", this shows that one of the main pieces of
legislation surrounding the break from Rome contained the personal matter of the King's divorce,
showing it was an important factor. However the validity of Source 9 is questionable as it is written
by the ambassador to Charles V. Charles V was Catherine of Aragon's nephew so Chapuys would
probably place Catherine's importance, in the break with rome, first.
In conclusion, I believe that the break from Rome was not driven by Cromwell but by a variety of
other factors, foremost of which was Henry's desire for a male heir. Source 8 says "possibly the most

The Key Argument Of The Driving And Restraining Forces
According to Lewin's force field theory, he argued that any level of behaviour is maintained in a
condition of "quasi–stationary equilibrium" by a force field comprising a balance of forces pushing
for and resisting change. The aim of this literature review is to describe the key argument of the
driving and restraining forces that respectively promote or impede the success of company's
transaction; the review primarily uses an integrative analysis of studies and reviews from the Hayes

The studies reviewed revealed that driving forces for change, there was separated into internal and

the external forces are at macro level where business don't have much control or influence.
Internal force:
The collected studies from Hayes J (2014) highlighted that "the sense of improvement" are
important driving forces for business such qualities include the emotional commitment and intention
to evolve business condition in a tough environment and in a competitive market in which it
operates. Profitability and performance is another important factors that drive business to change; in
addition, many companies were found to be promoted to change, where they need to reorganize to
increase efficiency and competitiveness. There is a number theories reviewed "business cycle" as
one of influences; in Hayes J (2014) study the author describe the decline stage of a business as a

How Spirituality Is A Central Theme And A Driving Force
Rabindranath Tagore, born in Kolkata, India in 1861, was a very influential figure in spreading the
best of his Indian culture with the world. The Bengali author wrote everything from poetry to plays
to songs, and he even painted. He received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913. As such an
established author, his art has been and continues to be honored all over the world. Countless
reviews have been done on his works in an effort to fully understand his genius. Scholars contest a
strong spiritual and religious motif in Tagore's writings, but disagree on the nature of the motif.
Differing perspectives include poetry as religion, practicing religion by simply being human, The
three scholars this paper focuses on agree that spirituality is a central theme and a driving force in
Tagore's poetry. Many of his poems are written as offerings to a higher power. Others contemplate
the spirituality of living everyday life. In one of the articles "The Religious Motif in the Poetry of
Rabindranath Tagore", Donald Tuck explains that, "Poetry expresses the religion of man in the
forms of the artists" (Tuck 97). He believes that Tagore and other artists express their religion
through their writings. Another perspective of expressing religion through poetry is "creative
spirituality", as Bhattacharya describes it. In Martha Nussbaum's article, Rabindranath Tagore:
Subversive Songs for a Transcultural "Religion of Humanity", describes Tagore's spirituality as

The Driving Force Of Religion
The Driving Force of Religion In the earliest civilizations of the West, the influence of religion was
crucial in establishing key elements of government and developing distinct cultures. Sacred texts
showed rules and stipulations to abide by, just to keep the god's wrath at bay. The world's greatest
temples were built in homage to those gods as thanks from the early peoples, for having shone them
the way of righteous living. A god could also dictate where an army waged war and what lands a
civilization should conquer in their holy name. The conquests of such wars built strong empires,
which allowed the spread and adaptation of the same driving force that made the civilization what it
was: religion. For early civilizations, safety was steadily connected with the gods. Failure to appease
the higher power led to poor crop yields and natural disasters like floods. In order to please the gods
and avoid such catastrophes, rules were founded for a honorable way of life. The first of it's kind
was the Hammurabi Code. The king Hammurabi had his strict laws and punishments written as a
way to show Shamash that the king himself was to supply justice in the sun god's stead. These
regulations of behavior are present in the modern world, the Code being the earliest form of capital
and corporal punishment. The ancient Egyptians also had set protocol when they dealt with the gods.

Art As A Driving Force For The Abstract Of Art
Art can be for art's sake; it does not need to be representational. Jackson Pollock was an influential
American painter who became a driving force for the abstract expression movement. His belief that
his art comes from within was an impetrative idea behind his style. His beliefs have a huge impact
on how I view art, create art, and inspired me for my final piece.
Pollock was born in Cody, Wyoming in 1912. His father, LeRoy Pollock, was a farmer who raised
his children in Arizona and Chico, California. Pollock was heavily influenced by Pablo Picasso,
Digo Rivera, and Native American art. All of these influences contributed to Pollock's unique style.
In 1929, Jackson Pollock studied at the Students ' League in New York under Thomas Hart Benton.
He learned techniques that helped him understand space, line, color, and much more. In mid–1940's
Pollock introduced his famous drip paintings. These paintings were such a radical approach to the
changes that happened during and after WWII. Media latched onto his methods and Life soon
releases an article titled "Jackson Pollock: Is he the greatest living painter in the United States?" The
content was "mocking and respectful." Vogue magazine caught onto the avant–garde artwork and
joined the trend publishing fashion photographs in front of the beautiful drip paintings. These
widely known companies persuaded society to accept the new idea to art. Pollock struggled with
depression and alcoholism. His premature death in August of 1956,

  • 1. The Economic Forces Driving A Multinational Corporation Executive Summary This report came about through a request from the CEO to evaluate the economic forces driving a multinational corporation. The analysis was performed on the trade policies and economic variables that are impacting the worldwide operations of Coca–Cola from a tactical and strategic perspective. The six research areas contained in this report reflect: Effects of labor and wages on the organization's international and domestic operations The report reflects the company's labor and employee process. Open economies and growth impact on business operations The research reflects the countries that are easy to do business as well as the potential ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The consistent planning and willingness to tap new markets will continue to make it an excellent choice for emulation and investment. Introduction The Coca–Cola Company is an American multinational beverage corporation and manufacturer, retailer and marketer of nonalcoholic beverage concentrates and syrups, which is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. The company began its' rise to stardom with the flagship product, Coca Cola. The tasty drink was created by pharmacist John Stith Pemberton on May 8th, 1886. The formula and brand were purchased by Asa Griggs Candler in 1889 and incorporated in 1889. Along with the original product, better known as Coke, the corporation offers more than 500 brands in over 200 countries. In the early 1900's, Coca–Cola began to globalize. Bottling plants were initially built in Cuba and Panama as the US military spread to these regions, causing a rise in demand for the Coca–Cola brand. These plants proved to be successful, reducing shipping and delivery costs typical in these regions. Soon after, additional bottling plants opened in Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the Philippines. (Saylor 2013) These efforts launched Coca–Cola's investment in testing foreign markets for future expansion opportunities. By 1926, Coca–Cola had established foreign relationships and plants around the world in support of its newly created center of global operations. In the present, Coca Cola has had its share of issues internationally. As ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. What Is The Driving Force Behind The Change Social Media: The Driving Force Behind the Change in Global Society Technology and its applications have influenced the means of communication among humans in today's society. One of technology's most powerful applications, social media, allows people to express their feelings and share their thoughts without having to speak to others in person. National Anthem (2011) and Fifteen Million Credits (2011) from the television show, Black Mirror, by Charlie Brooker show how social media affects the interactions between people, whether that be due to sharing fascinating news or enjoying comical relief. While the two scenarios shown were completely different, each revealed similar depictions of media and its significance in setting societal norms. National Anthem and Fifteen Million Credits both portray the effect of social media on the normal, everyday life of an individual by emphasizing the hidden prominence and presence of sexual stimulation, mental distraction, and entertainment values found within the changing lifestyle choices of society. In past centuries, any public discussion of sexual encounters and thoughts were highly frowned upon and viewed as taboo. The recent decade has brought about a new style of writing and art expressed in the form of sexual appeal. Sex, and all that it entails, has become a requirement for any form of media entertainment nowadays to absolutely fulfill an individual's need for complete satisfaction, mostly seen in Fifteen Million Credits. ... • 5. Driving Forces Of Natural Selection Q1 Response: According to Darwin, what are the driving forces of natural selection? According to Darwin, there are three primary forces in natural selection. The first force is variation in traits. Some beetles are brown and some are green in color. The second force is differential reproduction. Some beetles are more likely to be eaten by birds than other beetles, thus the less appealing beetles are more likely to survive and reproduce. The third force is heredity. The less appetizing (and thus, less eaten beetles), produce offspring that continue to thrive in future generations. Q2 Response: What, according to Darwin, is the relationship between heredity and environment? Darwin understood that organisms inherit environmental characteristics ... • 7. The Driving Force Behind The Crutality Of WWII And The... Despite the aggressive beliefs of the leaders at the time, the driving force behind the brutality of WWII and the Holocaust was fascism. Fascism values "neither ... the possibility nor the utility of perpetual peace" (Doctrine of Fascism). This belief, which simply means war is good, caused WWII and the Holocaust to be horrific. This was evident when Hitler invaded Poland. Fascism had influenced Hitler to believe that war was essential for Germany's growth because it would allow them to gain more land and slaves. Germany had previously taken over both Austria and Czechoslovakia with no punishment from the other European nations (even though the Treaty of Versailles, which ended WWI, prohibited Germany from conquering land). This gave Hitler reason to believe that if he invaded Poland in a massive blitzkrieg attack, there would be no consequences. However, this time the other European countries were not going to allow Germany to gain more power and two days later Britain declared war on Germany (Murphy 5/10). Since fascism influencing Hitler's beliefs caused the invasion of Poland, which started WWII, fascism indirectly was responsible for WWII –– a war whose brutality can be seen through the millions of people who died as a result. Fascism's positive view of war also led to Japan attacking the U.S. When the Japanese began expanding into the Pacific, the U.S. did not trust what they were doing and told them to stop. This made the Japanese think that the U.S. was standing in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. The Forces Driving An Organization What are the forces driving an organization to shift to analytics and be known as an analytical competitor? Analytics is when a particular organization uses large amount of data, predictive modeling, fact–based management, statistical analysis, quantitative analysis, and explanatory reasons in order to drive their business decisions and actions successfully (Harris 12). When an organization is trying to be analytically competitive, they are using analytics systematically and extensively to think outside the box to perform an execution to compete against other businesses. Today, organizations want more use of their talent and experience. To help them, analytics is used to manage their business performance, processes, strategy and key ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Within the company they have implemented factors such as data, enterprise, leadership, targets, and analytics (DELTA). Through these factors, the company is able to analyze and restructure their business model to such a degree, that their strategies can be built around it. This is what sets Amazon apart from other companies and this is what helps make them a top online retailer. Amazon has continuously been innovating and building their analytical capabilities to stay on top of the market. The company was built from scratch through analytics, data collection and experimentation. Amazon has successfully stayed on the leading edge and has remained an analytical competitor for many years. Few ways, one can see the company's growth is through the limited tests it has performed of new features on Amazon.com. The company rigorously quantifies user reaction before rolling the features out to the market. Amazon also uses extensive analytics to help predict what products will be successful in the future. Through the statistical and quantitative analysis approach, the company recommends products to its customers based on their previous buying experience. From the start, Jeff Bezos has envisioned Amazon.com as an analytically managed company. Bezos wants to squeeze every bit of efficiency out of its supply chain. The concept of personalization was based on web transaction and statistical algorithms, and now it has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. The Driving Forces Of E Commerce For Asos Critically Evaluate the Driving Forces of E–commerce for ASOS in 2015 1.Introduction In the year of 2013, Asos sees a great revenue growth and profits all over the world. Asos continued its global expansion and in August of 2014, Asos received 61% of the whole sale from outside UK (Asos plc, 2014). According to the report released in 16th Sep 2014, the sales of Asos grew to£975.5m in the end of August this year. Addition to that, the CEO Nick Robertson claimed that Asos will make even larger investments in the international pricing, technology and supply chain in order to gain more profits in the next financial year (Mintel, 2014). In the four driving forces of e–commerce, the customers' love comes first. 2.Customers' love There are four facets that customers may concern (Jarvenpaa and Todd, 1997). For Asos, the perception of the product is about the quality, the variety, the fashionability and the price of the clothes. As the largest online fashion and beauty retailer, the 3rd most popular website for buying clothes, Asos stands for "As Shown on Stage" and fashionability. Meanwhile, Asos is developing a plan to control products quality as soon as they are made (Asos plc, 2014). The shopping experience is another aspect which customers care about. The website should be users–friendly. Asos is communicating with its consumers around the world by adding websites in non–English languages even Chinese and Russian with difficult characteristics (Asos plc, 2014). When ... • 13. Oppression Is The Driving Force Behind The Violence Oppression is the driving force behind the violence in Israel. It is based on a land dispute that led to oppression and now the violence seen today. Israel is plagued with a cycle of violence and fear. There are many factors behind the climate of terror that is taking place in Israel, but none as significant as oppression. The establishment of Israel by Jews led to many changes for Palestinian Arabs, who were already living in the area. Many of these changes were oppressive and intrusive to the Palestinian Arabs' way of life. As can be expected, wherever there is oppression, violence and fear normally follow. Both sides have suffered losses amidst this violence. Jews claim they fled to Palestine to avoid persecution and that establishing Israel as a Jewish state would be the only way to ensure their safety. Yet their safety, and now the safety of Palestinian Arabs, are both unsure. In the late 1800's, Jews across Europe began fleeing to Palestine to avoid anti–Semitism and persecution. During this era, there was a movement known as the Zionist; the Zionists wanted to return to the Jewish Holy Land to establish a Jewish state that would serve as a sanctuary for Jews. However, according to the State of Israel Proclaimed (State), at this time the Zionist leadership was unable to persuade the Ottoman Empire to grant them a charter. The following decades would see sporadic migration of Jews into Palestine. World War I brought about more change in Palestine, including ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Hammarskjöld What Is The Driving Force Behind The Un Xander McIntosh The King's College Founder's Competition 17 November 2016 The United Nations: An Internship Like No Other "The United Nations was not created to lead mankind to heaven, but to save humanity from hell." Dag Hammarskjöld , former United Nations Secretary–General The kinds of hell Dag Hammarskjöld referred to are not difficult to imagine in a world ravished by World War II and terrified by the threat of nuclear war. Hammarskjöld is known today as the second Secretary–General of the United Nations (UN) and widely regarded as a man of unimpeachable character. His career at the UN was remarkable, in that he was completely uninterested in the bureaucratic politics many at the United Nations engage in, choosing to lead projects from the command tent instead of the corner office. He was the first and only Secretary–General to be chosen unanimously and is largely regarded as the greatest leader of the United Nations in history. John F. Kennedy once said about Hammarskjöld, "I realize now, in comparison to him I am a small man. He was the greatest statesman of our century." (Cite) The question then begs to be asked: what is the driving force behind this man's impeccable integrity? As we know now, it was his passionate and private Christian faith. His compassion for his fellow man manifested itself in the form of service to millions through the United Nations. In addition, a collection of vivid personal Christian reflections, hailed by many as one of the most ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Driving Force Of Manipulation In Shakespeare's Othello A wave generates in the bountiful, tranquil ocean gradually it gains momentum swelling and growing until colliding, crashing, splattering, destroying everything in its wake. In Othello, Shakespeare creates a vivid drama that incorporates controversial social standards of race, class distinctions, as well as gender, he weaves these ideas using bold striking characters. These characters are molded in such a way that they are vulnerable to Iago's manipulative scheming that consumes him. While on the surface, it may seem like jealousy is the driving force of manipulation, it is, in fact, isolation that more dramatically impacts the manipulation of the various characters. Throughout Othello, manipulation is increasingly developed through isolation, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the end of the play the theme of manipulation develops and comes full circle. Manipulation is evolving and changing, given that we are deeper into the play Othello is so trustworthy, blinded, that he will believe anything Iago tells him. Iago's manipulative plans have had a snowball effect. One successful plan after the other, Iago's manipulative position has become addictive, he can't stop, what he wanted, the military position didn't make him happy or leave him fulfilled. It merely showed him what power he had. The power of a wave can be calm until that power is unleashed. Iago deceives Othello by convincing his own wife, Emilia, to steal Desdemona's handkerchief and places it in Cassio's chambers. This plan along with the scheme to turn Desdemona against Othello is where the theme of manipulation climaxes. Othello falls down this deep hole of confusion and pain because he believes, based on what Iago has told him, that his wife is no longer faithful to him. Iago's poison of manipulative words and plans drives Othello down this path. Othello becomes delusional and almost crazy, "Handkerchief––confessions––handkerchief..."(4.1.45–46). This was Othello's breaking point, due to Iago and Iago's manipulative ways Othello could no longer piece together his own thoughts and ideas versus the thoughts and ideas Iago implanted in him. Isolation is the driving force that created such tragic events to occur at the end of the play. Iago has disrupted and altered Othello's character. Othello asks, "How shall I murder him, Iago?"(4.1.88–89). Iago has isolated everyone Othello could confide in. Othello no longer has that option of confiding in his wife or his friends, Iago isolated them all away from Othello and thus bonded more with Iago. In the beginning of the play Othello would have never have the thought of killing someone out of hatred. Iago has spilled his position upon Othello. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It was specifically created for mothers of kids who have fallen victim to drunk drivers, whether it be in injury or in death. Founded on September 5th 1980, M.A.D.D. has made a huge impact on the government today and an even bigger impact on society. The idea of M.A.D.D. was first introduced by a mother, Candice Lightner, who lost her thirteen year old daughter in a car accident killed by an intoxicated driver. In the year 2000, M.A.D.D. was nationally recognized for supporting the law that the legal limit of driving while intoxicated should be lowered from .10 to .08. The law was passed in 2005 by congress all throughout the United States, making the chance of an intoxicated person driving and injuring themselves or others much lower. Also, as the result of lobbying and M.A.D.D.'s efforts in changing the law, the state of California also passed a law that enhanced the penalties and fines for re– offenses of DUI charges as well as prevented minors from purchasing alcohol. Five different bills have been signed to add weight to the DUI charges, as well as prevent minors from obtaining fake ID's by cracking down on security measures and rules in liquor stores. The Driving Forces Of US Imperialism Imperialism,–a more powerful country subjugating a weaker nation to it's benefit, has been a part of human civilization for centuries, people take advantage of each other, its human nature. At the turn of the 19th century, the US was in a position to become the superpower it is today, after winning the Spanish American War, a new US viewpoint came to mind, the one of an imperialist. The driving forces of US imperialism in the late 1800s to early 1900s were to have new markets for goods to be sold, military expansion through new bases around the globe, and a need to uplift foreign cultures to American "standards". Money is power, and the US got a lot of both from industrialization, but it just wasn't enough. U.S business owners pushed their government to conquer new lands, to have new markets to sell goods in. Hawaii in the late 1800s, was already tied to the U.S through economic treaties, but was still it's own country, but as American businessmen increasingly sought to control Hawaii's natural resources and wealth, they pushed for the American government to annex the islands and bring them under their control. "These business people wanted Hawaii annexed to the U.S. This would get rid of taxes on goods from Hawaii and make a lot of money for Dole and his cohorts." The Driving Forces Behind Tom Robbins The debate over whether or not possessing these qualities truly makes a wise being is a very complicated and difficult one; however they are the driving forces behind Tom Robbins's writing. Humor is one of the most obvious themes in Robbins's writing. His work has a sort of clever and witty comedic aspect: And that's why when you've exhibited the slightest tendency toward self– importance, I've reminded you that you and me – you and I: excuse me – may be every bit as important as the President or the pope or the biggest prime–time icon in Hollywood, but none of us is much more than a pimple on the ass–end of creation, so let's not get carried away with ourselves. Preventive medicine, boy. It's preventive medicine. But what about self–esteem? Heh! Self–esteem is for sissies. Accept that you're a pimple and try to keep a lively sense of humor about it. That way lies grace – and maybe even glory. This quote not only uses strange and comedic phrasing, "pimple on the ass–end of creation," but talks about the importance of humor. There are many laugh out loud moments within this book. For example when Switters is on XTC and is reciting poetry to a pumpkin and his grandmother walks in, "'Switters!' MAestra had entered the room behind him. 'What the hell are you saying to that poor fruit? Is this what nine hours of modern poetry does to a man" (Robbins 15)? • 33. The Driving Forces Behind College Tuition Essay The Driving Forces Behind College Tuition Hikes Higher education in the United States was introduced in 1636 when Harvard University first opened its doors. At the time, college was seen as an exclusive institution, typically reserved for the wealthy elite. In the 1600's, a college degree was not necessary to get a decent job and make a living; therefore, there was little demand. Since then, public opinion and attitudes about higher education have changed significantly. In today's job market, a college degree is a requirement for a variety of career paths. Employers' desire to hire highly skilled workers continues to increase year after year. As a result, more people seek to pursue a degree to meet this expectation. Along with the growing demand for higher education, the costs of attending and tuition rise simultaneously. According to the NPR, "a college education seems unaffordable at the worst possible time." During a period where we see a struggling economy with a high unemployment rates, and instability in wages, college tuition continues to skyrocket. Yet Americans still find ways to pay these unreasonably high rates because of how valued and important a college degree is in today's job market. So, what underlying causes have impacted the rise in tuition and how far will it continue to inflate until a higher education becomes impossible to achieve financially? Over the past three centuries, investigative reporters have tried to make a difference by raising public consciousness about perceived wrongdoings. • 37. The Driving Force Behind The Brutality Of WWII And The... Although the beliefs of the leaders at the time had an impact, the driving force behind the brutality of WWII and the Holocaust was fascism. Fascism believed in "neither in the possibility nor the utility of perpetual peace" (Doctrine of Fascism). This belief, which simply means war is good, caused WWII and the Holocaust to be so horrific. This belief causing brutality can be seen when Hitler invaded Poland. However, this time the other European countries were not going to allow Germany gain anymore power and two days later Britain declared war on Germany. (Murphy 5/10). The invasion of Poland was what started WWII, a war that led to millions of deaths. Had fascism not existed, Hitler would have been less inclined to believe that war would give him more land and slaves, and this invasion never would have occurred. Therefore, fascism is responsible for the brutality of WWII and the Holocaust because it caused them. Fascism's positive view of war also led to Japan attacking the U.S. When the Japanese began expanding into the Pacific, the U.S. did not trust what they were doing and told them to stop. This made the Japanese think that the U.S. was standing in its way and the only way to get what they wanted was to attack. As a result, Japan attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941. In response to this attack, the U.S. declared war on Japan, which then led to the rest of the Axis Powers declaring war on the U.S. (Murphy 5/10). This action shows the belief that war is good made Japan think that attacking the US. would settle their problems. In reality, however, this attack caused more countries to be at war, resulting in more deaths. Finally, the positive outlook on war led to the China Incident. Japan and China had long been enemies, but China always had more power. However, during the WWII era, Japan became more powerful because Japan had modernized while China had not. The ... • 41. The Key Driving Force Of Evolution The first force of evolution is mutation; this the key driving force of evolution. A mutation is simply a change in an organism's genetic makeup. There are many different types of mutations such as point mutations, frameshift mutations, and chromosomal mutations. Most mutations are not noticeable or are harmless, but the harmful ones can cause a variety of disabilities such as Down Syndrome and sickle–cell anemia. A second force of evolution is natural selection, where unfavorable traits are selected against. The ability for an organism to reproduce is referred to in the textbook as fitness. Fitness does not mean an organism is bigger, faster, or stronger; it depends on what are considered favorable traits in a certain environment. The third force of evolution is genetic drift, which is a random change in the alleles that make up a population's gene pool. Genetic drift can be seen with a greater influence on smaller populations. The bottleneck effect can cause a reduction in genetic diversity among a population; the founder's effect can result in speciation after a small group of organisms separate from a parent population. Many European countries were in a race to get these resources and to gain land. The only problem was that a race for this beautiful land and these natural resources deemed as economy boosters could cause an all out war between the European nations. European countries never were concerned for land in Africa nor their resources. That was until the late 1880s when King Leopold II of Belgium started sort of a trend by acquiring a private "country" of 900,000 square miles in Africa. This "country" was dubbed the Congo Free State and it was 95 times the size of Belgium. Leopold was making a gargantuan amount of money by taking out ivory and rubber. Without looking into it, Iago could be considered just another generic Shakespeare villain; however, his shallow emotions, high self esteem, and his dishonest nature prove him to be much more. The average reader would not define Iago as much more than a regular evil. Before you dive deeper into it, it is important to know what a psychopath actually is. "Turning a human being into a thing is almost always the first step towards justifying violence against a person" –Jean Killbourne We're each exposed to fifteen hundred advertisements every single day. It is one of the most powerful educational forces in our society today and it determines as well as shapes our behavior in real world scenarios. It's interesting to observe how the advertising industry acts as the main driving force of mass media. The primary purpose of most television programs is to assemble an audience in order to watch these commercials. This way, the audiences get delivered to advertisers and in turn advertisers can sell their products. • 51. Labor Is A Driving Force Lauren Lawson Dr. Scott Testa EC201.3 December 1, 2014 Unemployment in America Labor is a driving force in every economy. Wages paid for labor helps increase consumer spending and is essential for companies. Unemployed workers represent wasted potential inside an economy. Unemployment arises when factors of production that are willing and able to produce goods and services are not actively engaged in production. Unemployment means that the economy isn't meeting its goal of full employment. There are four basic causes for unemployment in a working economy. These reasons are: minimum wage lages, labor unions, efficiency wages, and job search. The labor market is just like any other market. If there are a lot of unemployed workers who want jobs, the price of labor will drop until all that force is employed. In order to keep a certain standard of living, the government implements a minimum wage. However, raising the minimum wage can increase unemployment. The second reason for unemployment is based on efficiency wages. Firms benefit by paying their workers above the minimum wage so they can produce happier, healthier, and more productive workers. In turn, more people want to work for that position than there are actually seats for that position. Therefore, efficiency wages can increase the wages for workers who are employed but increase overall unemployment. Job search isn't similar to the other causes of unemployment. The only way I could possibly see Mattel reducing their physical assets is if they are no longer producing the clothes and accessories, which are used on the Barbie dolls. It is unclear based on my research if Stardolls would take over and be responsible for producing the clothes and accessories for the Barbie dolls. In a sense Hasbro put them in a pickle by creating distance from their already successfully established game board ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 57. Driving Forces Behind The Progressive Movement I believe the driving forces behind the progressive movement were women of the era. Women such as Jane Addams, Margaret Sanger, and Alice Stone Blackwell devoted their lives to reforming the world and creating change in the political sphere. The beginnings of the progressive movement in the United States had its start in the early 1800's, but didn't really start gaining ground until the late 19th century when a new middle class tired of the excesses of the Gilded Age. This era brought about fortunes and extreme poverty, labor clashes between working class and companies, large– scale immigration, and other events that made the middle class nervous. Herbert Croly wrote the "millionaire and the trust have appropriated too many of the economic opportunities formerly enjoyed by the people." (The Promise of American Life) The progressives had many goals: votes for women, labor improvement laws, prohibition, and many others. Women stood at the forefront of change in the earliest parts of the 20th century, pushing back against societal restraints and expectations of family and marriage. • 61. The Driving Force Behind Designing An Educational Plan In America today, it is clear that one size does not fit all when it comes to education. Students come from diverse backgrounds and circumstances, with experiences that shape them as unique individuals with individual educational needs. Educators are tasked with examining students as individuals and determining the best course of action for each student to learn and achieve. The driving force behind designing an educational plan that addresses individual students' needs is courageous leadership that is willing to implement change. Additionally, educators must consider socioeconomic differences of student populations. Finally, schools must move beyond traditional universal learning and find ways to inspire students through personalized learning plans. When an educational system realizes that one size does not fit all students, leaders will rise to bring about reform to meet the needs of students, leading them to success. Education reform requires forward thinking, courageous leadership to insist on an individualized approach to learning. Just as health care provides diagnosis and treatment, education should focus on the unique needs of each student (Reville, 2015). Individualized learning plans can benefit all students, not just those identified as gifted, or those with specific learning disabilities. Courageous leaders recognize the effectiveness of the inclusion of ESE students into rigorous academic programs. Learning alongside honors students, with expectations set high, ... Para 1:Source 7 and 8 tell us that Cromwell was the driving force in the break! Para 2:Source 9 and 7 also tell us it was driven by henry wanting a divorce ! Conclusion: I believe that the break was not driven by cromwell but a variety of other reasons (quote source 7 and 8 'succession problem) Thomas Cromwell was an adviser to Henry VIII, responsible for drafting the documents that formalised England's religious and political break with Rome during the 1530's. It can be argued that he was the driving force behind the break from Rome. However it could be other reasons such as Henrys desire for a divorce or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Source 9 and 7 disagrees with the statement and tells us that Henrys wish to divorce Catherine of Aragon was the driving force in the break from Rome. Source 9 is a letter written by Eustace Chapuys it tells us of his suspicions to why Cranmer was promoted to Archbishop of Canterbury, "to the great astonishment of everybody". He tells us that it is suspected that Cranmer has been made Archbishop as he "may authorise the new marriage in this parliament and can grant the necessary divorce". Promoting Cranmer to Archbishop so hastily without consulting the Pope shows a clear break and the cause is shown to be the Henrys haste to gain the "necessary divorce". Source 7 says about the Act in Restraint of Appeals that "in earlier drafts of the act, specific reference was made to the King's divorce and the problems of succession", this shows that one of the main pieces of legislation surrounding the break from Rome contained the personal matter of the King's divorce, showing it was an important factor. However the validity of Source 9 is questionable as it is written by the ambassador to Charles V. Charles V was Catherine of Aragon's nephew so Chapuys would probably place Catherine's importance, in the break with rome, first. In conclusion, I believe that the break from Rome was not driven by Cromwell but by a variety of other factors, foremost of which was Henry's desire for a male heir. The Key Argument Of The Driving And Restraining Forces According to Lewin's force field theory, he argued that any level of behaviour is maintained in a condition of "quasi–stationary equilibrium" by a force field comprising a balance of forces pushing for and resisting change. The aim of this literature review is to describe the key argument of the driving and restraining forces that respectively promote or impede the success of company's transaction; the review primarily uses an integrative analysis of studies and reviews from the Hayes J (2014). • 69. How Spirituality Is A Central Theme And A Driving Force Rabindranath Tagore, born in Kolkata, India in 1861, was a very influential figure in spreading the best of his Indian culture with the world. The Bengali author wrote everything from poetry to plays to songs, and he even painted. He received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913. As such an established author, his art has been and continues to be honored all over the world. Countless reviews have been done on his works in an effort to fully understand his genius. Scholars contest a strong spiritual and religious motif in Tagore's writings, but disagree on the nature of the motif. Differing perspectives include poetry as religion, practicing religion by simply being human, The three scholars this paper focuses on agree that spirituality is a central theme and a driving force in Tagore's poetry. Many of his poems are written as offerings to a higher power. Others contemplate the spirituality of living everyday life. In one of the articles "The Religious Motif in the Poetry of Rabindranath Tagore", Donald Tuck explains that, "Poetry expresses the religion of man in the forms of the artists" (Tuck 97). He believes that Tagore and other artists express their religion through their writings. Another perspective of expressing religion through poetry is "creative spirituality", as Bhattacharya describes it. In Martha Nussbaum's article, Rabindranath Tagore: Subversive Songs for a Transcultural "Religion of Humanity", describes Tagore's spirituality as nothing other than the ... • 75. The Driving Force Of Religion The Driving Force of Religion In the earliest civilizations of the West, the influence of religion was crucial in establishing key elements of government and developing distinct cultures. Sacred texts showed rules and stipulations to abide by, just to keep the god's wrath at bay. The world's greatest temples were built in homage to those gods as thanks from the early peoples, for having shone them the way of righteous living. A god could also dictate where an army waged war and what lands a civilization should conquer in their holy name. The conquests of such wars built strong empires, which allowed the spread and adaptation of the same driving force that made the civilization what it was: religion. For early civilizations, safety was steadily connected with the gods. Failure to appease the higher power led to poor crop yields and natural disasters like floods. In order to please the gods and avoid such catastrophes, rules were founded for a honorable way of life. The first of it's kind was the Hammurabi Code. The king Hammurabi had his strict laws and punishments written as a way to show Shamash that the king himself was to supply justice in the sun god's stead. These regulations of behavior are present in the modern world, the Code being the earliest form of capital and corporal punishment. The ancient Egyptians also had set protocol when they dealt with the gods. When one died, their heart was weighed against the feather of truth. If the heart was lighter than the ... • 77. Art As A Driving Force For The Abstract Of Art Art can be for art's sake; it does not need to be representational. Jackson Pollock was an influential American painter who became a driving force for the abstract expression movement. His belief that his art comes from within was an impetrative idea behind his style. His beliefs have a huge impact on how I view art, create art, and inspired me for my final piece. Pollock was born in Cody, Wyoming in 1912. His father, LeRoy Pollock, was a farmer who raised his children in Arizona and Chico, California. Pollock was heavily influenced by Pablo Picasso, Digo Rivera, and Native American art. All of these influences contributed to Pollock's unique style. In 1929, Jackson Pollock studied at the Students ' League in New York under Thomas Hart Benton. He learned techniques that helped him understand space, line, color, and much more. In mid–1940's Pollock introduced his famous drip paintings. These paintings were such a radical approach to the changes that happened during and after WWII. Media latched onto his methods and Life soon releases an article titled "Jackson Pollock: Is he the greatest living painter in the United States?" The content was "mocking and respectful." Vogue magazine caught onto the avant–garde artwork and joined the trend publishing fashion photographs in front of the beautiful drip paintings. These widely known companies persuaded society to accept the new idea to art. Pollock struggled with depression and alcoholism. His premature death in August of 1956, ...
