This document provides an outline for a short film project about a motorcycle race between a human rider and two others with chicken heads. Key details include: the synopsis of the race and reveal of the chicken heads; using green screen and animation techniques to create the chicken heads; combining live action and motion graphics in the style; including a quote about animal cruelty before revealing the meaning; being inspired by Chris Cunningham's use of prosthetics and blending techniques; plans for shots, sound design, lighting, and single screen projection at art galleries.

3. Synopsis of Project
• This video I am planning to do is about a guy on a
motorbike who is casually driving and sees two
more people at traffic lights, they rev there
engines and looks at him like they want to race.
They then start to race for a mile or so it’s a close
race until the end when the two guys go really
fast (these two guys have tinted visors), so at the
end they end up in a town where the finish line is
at the car park and the other guy gets there in
the end, while he gets there the other guys take
there helmets off and they have chicken heads
and talk chicken to each other, while the other
guy is just human.
4. Use of technolgy and technques
the way I’m going to create my piece is by using
the use of green screen to form the chicken
head onto the motorbike guys, if I don’t use a
chicken head I’m going to use horse masks so
they will have horse faces, but I’ll still use
techniques of feathering to make it blend in
with the body and look as realistic as I can.
I’ll do this with the use of after effects, and same with the
green screen idea I would use a Chroma key for that and
put the head in the body and feather it so it looks like its
part of the body and use motion to move the head.
5. Style
The style I’m going to use for my piece would be
mixed of two styles from motion graphics – live
action.
The way I’m going to do this style is by using the use of the
green screen animation and live footage put together to
create this video instillation.
This all will be put together with the use of final cut or
premier pro and after effects to create this piece of art.
6. Narrative and non narrative forms
My piece does not use a narrative in it there no
story, but it has a meaning to it, as I’m going to
do a quote at the beginning saying ‘animals have
lives and animal crudity is wrong’ something on
those terms and it will show the meaning at the
end unraveling the meaning of the piece.
7. The use of exhibition space to create
meaning
• When people watch my piece I’m hoping they
get the meaning with the atmosphere not that
people will get a rush and think it’s mental,
I’m hoping they will see the meaning as it may
seem like a comedy, but its actually quiet sad
and serious about animal cruelty showing you
how bad it is and showing that animals have
lives like humans do which is the meaning I’ll
be trying to fulfil for the exhibition space.
8. Inspiration.
My work was inspired by Chris Cunningham.
The way he did monkey drum with the monkey head it
inspired me.
It made me think of my idea of putting a animal head onto a
human body to create this effect I’m looking for and the
meaning I have for the video links with the idea of mine with
the animal head and I’m using the same sort of ideas that
Chris Cunningham used for his with the green screen, but I
wont be machinacly making a body, but the way I’m going to
feather it and make it all blend together is the idea he used also.
9. Vision
The vision I’ll be looking for is going to be lots of
establishing shots and close up shots, this will be
use of digital technology with the use of the
cameras causing the image of the bikes feel like
a race. The vision of the end of the chicken or
horse heads will make the meaning come across
with the way I’m planning to film it you’ll get the
vision of the idea
10. Sound.
The way I’m going get sound for this is by using
Foley sound so I’ll add and make the sound
match the video with the use of final cut and I
may use a music track over it also to cause the
sound not be to blunt and boring.
11. Lighting
• The lighting I’m going to use will be natural
lighting I’m not going to use lights only for the
green screen bit, but I’m going edit it all and
colour correct it so that it blends with each
other and looks smooth and one shot not two
separate things put together.
12. Projection on screen
I’m going to be using single screen there only
going be one image on one screen playing
throughout the whole projection on screen and
it will be shown at art galleries where they will
be saved and secured.
