2. Spacing Out
 Spacing out is when someone is trying to tell us something but we
are stuck in our own fantasy and ignore them. Doing this will give
you a reputation for being “out of it”. As shown below.

3. Pretend Listening
 Pretend listening is pretty common. It’s when we aren’t paying much
attention to someone’s comments and respond with things like
“uh-huh”, “cool”, or “sounds great”.

4. Selective listening
 Selective listening is when we pay attention to one part of someone’s
comment.

5. Word Listening
 This is when we pay attention to what someone is saying, but not
their body language.

6. Self-centered listening
 Self-centered listening happens when we see everything from our
point if view.

7. Judging
 Sometimes, when we listen to others, we judge them in the back of
our minds.

8. Advising
 This is when you give advice drawn from our own experiences.


9. Probing
 This is when you try to dig up emotions before people want to share
them.
