2. Concept
The song ‘Second and Sebring’ has an emotional and a power lyrical meaning behind it, the words relate to the late
mother of the frontman ‘Austin Charlile’. ‘Come back so I can say thank you for this, these home cooked meals and a place to
rest my troubled head’ the narrative behind the song shows growing of age and bond of a child and mother, relating to Austin
and his late mother, the narrative concludes with him mom passing away, giving the inspiration for the music song and music
video, real life problems. Our music video shall be inspired by the original music video by ‘Of mice and men’ showing
elements of strong performance (see below) real emotion and a convincing music video.
Performance and Narrative
Of Mice and Men deliver a fantastic and emotional, yet convincing performance in this music video, we have taken all
of this into account and have taken inspiration for the music video and going to incorporate these ideas into our original

Cutting in and out of the narrative, making references to the current and original music video. Our narrative will relate to
the original, portraying a child being happy with is mother, showing the gowning age of the child, and conflict between the
mother and child, the narrative ends with the mother passing away. Relating to the origin of the song, thanking his mother for
all that she has done.

3. Lighting
The use of lighting in the music video: mainly low-key, dark colours. This is to signify the meaning of the song, to show
respect to the band. When the narrative is introduced, the colours wish to be of a sepia effect. But the colour red will be of
importance, as a t-shirt will be shown as a gift from his late mother.
This is the type of colour effect I wish to include for the narrative, this can
be done either a filter lens for the camera or it can be edited on final cute
after production.
The colours don’t draw your attention; to maintain this effect
we are going to use dim colours and low-key lighting.

4. Wall Lighting
To maintain this dim and glooming feel in the music video, the wall lighting will be kept dark, with lighting
reflections on the band to make sure we are in frame, and always in focus. Also this is key to the Andrew Goodwin’s theory
of Star Image.
Ellipsis
In the music video to ‘Second and Sebring’ the use of ellipsis are quite frequent, these are used to show the life of the
boy growing up to be a man, when we do these ellipsis, we will make sure that they show a passage of at least a few years.
