2. Shot 1.
The establishing shot, gives the setting and sets the mood and
theme almost Immediately. This is done well by using the light to
Draw your attention to the inside of the warehouse.
3. Shot 2.
The medium shot supports Andrew Goodwin’s theory of Star image
links well to my project, the front man of the band (Rob Damiani) is
shown within the first few shots, making the audience assume he’s
the main focus. This is what I would wish To include, in the given
music genre Metal-Core, image is important.
4. Shot 3.
The long shot still revealing Andrew Goodwin’s theory of star
imagine the music video cuts between the band playing in the
Factory and the narrative. By doing this it supports and makes
The music video well, the narrative linking to the theme and lyrics
To the song of choice, making it easier to follow and keeping the
Audience interested.
5. Shot 4.
This scene relates well to the song and the music video well. The
long shot reveals the band round a table having a discussion about
their priorities. This relates to the song title ‘Priorities’ and the lyrics
Well. ‘When you’re out with the boys, ever contemplate not telling her’
Suggesting the band are discussing their plans for the weekend or
Forthcoming events.
6. Shot 5.
In this shot we see a female, being provocative by dancing on the
table and the clothing she is wearing. This supports Laura Mulvey idea
of the ‘Gaze Theory’ Where the audience is put in the perspective
of a heterosexual male. The audience is immediately drawn in. To include
something that would draw the attention of a male would be ideal in my
project, to keep the audience entertained.
7. Shot 6.
In this shot we see that the band have been arrested, the pull focus
reveals the band about to get their pictures taken. David Buckingham
argues that genre constantly changes, given that we could say this music
video has changed, it went from them playing to them being arrested.
The way they are stood links well to the mise en scene. The outfits and
the body language are important. I must make sure performance and
costume are of a good standard in my project.
8. Shot 7.
Again in this shot we see the ‘Gaze Theory’ being used well and the
female furthermore being exposed more provocative drawing attention
from the male audience. The shot shows the female in a police hat and
revealing clothing, this links into a male fantasy and keeps them on their
toes wanting more.
9. Shot 8.
In this medium shot we see the main star once again supporting Andrew
Goodwin’s Theory of star image well. the character is portrayed in a
comedy way by having the mask. giving comedy to the music video makes
it appeal to everyone.
10. Shot 9.
In the final shot we see of the band we see Rob Damiani, the main
man of Don Broco, we see star image once again. the lighting is high
key making the character look of some significance, by having him in
the closing scenes it shows the importance of the band. This technique
will be incorporated into my music video, to show the importance of the
front man and blend in the music genre which is metal core.
