The Importance Of Love For Family
The ideal choice would always to be able to have both, but like the famous saying goes, "you can't have cake and eat it too". Love is
something that will be attained by those close to you, such as relatives and significant others, but respect is something that can be earned
by all. To have love without respect, rather, is possessive and unhealthy. In addition, love can also push people act and behave differently
than they would normally. Through life, many will encounter many different people and form many different bonds. However, only few
will grow to truly love all the people they meet within their lifetime. Of course, one would believe that love for family members and
relatives will be unconditional, and selfless. Moreover, if one is to look back the relationships that is between those family members, there
is a big realization. These particular relationships that are formed, especially with the elder generations, we have an undeniable respect
and admiration for them. This may have not been the initial purpose but is still an effect of establishing boundaries. Boundaries are
essential for any relationship that one may have with any other individual. A line that shall not be crossed, if you will. Thus, whether it is
a parent, an aunt, or any loved one, one will know how far to go with that said individual. On the same account, respect can be applied to
any relationship, not just the personal relationships such as the ones named above. You will can get more with respect

Statement Of Purpose To Become A Neonatal Nurse
About Me
I have many goals in my life. I want to be able to do better than what my mom has done and show her that I can make something of
myself. I can go to college and get as many degrees as I want as long as I put my mind to it. My other goals in life would to become a
either a neonatal nurse practitioner or historian studying black history.
I want to become either a neonatal nurse practitioner because I love caring for sick babies and helping them grow and improve. The main
reason why I want to become to a neonatal nurse is because of my brother's was born with heart problems which caused him to be in the
NICU for quite some time. His problems have left him with permanent scarring and a deep voice for the rest of his life. Seeing that ...

It may sound scary but it is true. I am a highly indeed private person and I don't want others knowing about me unless I want them to and
I sense that they are a good a person. I have a high priority in being true to oneself. If you're not able to be true to yourself then how can
you get around in life? How will you achieve anything in life? Let alone love other people and many other things. I am also extremely
observant of the people around me. I can't be friends with everyone I meet. You will never know what they could be plotting against you
behind your back as well as if they really think of you as a friend. I have learned that the hard way as I grown up over the years. That is
why I have very few close friends and the rest are people I just talk to when I don't want to be lonely during the school hours.
Now I think about the future way too much to the point where I get death and start to question what happens when I'm gone. I have
already have everything planned out and know where I'm going to be doing and what not. I know I want to go to a community college
and get my required courses out of the way. If I enjoy the community college, I will eventually stay there and then go forward into getting
my bachelor's and master's. I will hopefully be living somewhere it snows a lot and have very long winters. I will be living in either a tiny

Personal Statement : My Underlying Fear
The reason I picked these two individuals to interview is because I knew that they were both in a relationship and I knew them well
enough personally that they would be comfortable talking about personal moments in their lives that would allow me to fully examine
and evaluate their responses. My underlying fear was that both of the interviews would bring about very similar data with no room for
comparisons, but thankfully my fears proved unwarranted. Both of the interviewees had a vested interest in happiness and relationships.
To code my two interviewees, I will first regard what characteristics or backgrounds each person had that could have influenced their
thoughts on happiness or relationships. Such traits could be their demographics, as both of them were Hispanic and were born in a
different country before moving to the United States when they were very young. Both are bilingual in English and Spanish. Both have a
younger sibling and a strong maternal figure. Employment status, another coding variable, was different between them. Interviewee 1 had
had jobs, but was no longer working, but interviewee 2 continues to work his job during the graveyard shift. Both are in intimate
relationships, but the happiness from each relationship varies between the two, along with the thoughts of their partners. Interviewee 1
rarely spoke of problems she had with her significant other while interviewee 2 listed several traits that he found damaging in his
significant other. These

Summary Of The Short Existence Of Francis Macomber
Ernest Hemingway has made a magnum opus of various mystery in his story "The Short Existence of Francis Macomber''. The riddle
does not reveal itself to the pursuer until the very closure of the story, yet it leaves a lot of creative energy. Around the finish of this story
Margaret Macomber butchers her significant other unexpectedly, she tries to spare him from being battered by extensive Bison while they
were on a safari in Africa. The mystery is paying little respect to whether the killing was inadvertent, or purposeful. It was purposeful,
they would have many proof in the story to give you a reasonable intention too.
What makes this riddle uncommon is that Hemingway gives the pursuer different events that would lead the pursuer to devise a
commendable rationale, yet human impulse tells the pursuer that this executing couldn't have been deliberate. From a just target
investigation of the story, the pursuer would see altogether additionally supporting the theory of a deliberate executing rather than a
coincidental one. The snippets of data supporting Margaret executed Francis intentionally can best be seen when watching and focus the
foundation information on both Francis Macomber, and Margaret herself. (Hemingway 1402). What is in like manner key is that Margot
and Francis have altogether different personalities. This is doubtlessly watched when the storyteller states, (Hemingway 1402). With this
little measure of foundation data, the intention in a deliberate

Theme Of Love In The Great Gatsby
In the Great Gatsby, the author first introduces ideas of infidelity through Tom Buchanan, an upper class man from old money, and Myrtle
Wilson, a woman from the valley of ashes with a poor, working class background. Both tired of their respective significant others, they
find themselves together in their love nest apartment in New York City, both enjoying what the other has to offer. Specifically, Myrtle,
takes joy from using the money that Tom has to get materialistic things that she wants and Tom, getting some action and thrill using her.
This in itself shows obvious power differences all due to their background. However, Nick Carraway, the narrator for the book observes
this first hand when he first goes out with Tom and Myrtle. On their way to their love nest, Myrtle notices someone selling dogs,
exclaiming ""I think it's cute,"and furthermore "how much is it?" "'That dog?' [said the seller who] looked at it admiringly 'That dog will
cost you ten dollars.'" In reply, "'Is it a boy or girl?' she [asks] delicately. Tom, participating in the conversation at last, "'It's a bitch' said
Tom decisively. 'Here's your money. Go and buy ten more dogs with it?'" (Fitzgerald 28). Though at first this can be assumed as Tom
giving in to Myrtle's whims in hopes to keep her happy, when looked further, there is a clear sign that Tom disregards this encounter. With
the way he assumes dominance in the way he decides whether the dog is boy or a girl, and how be pays it off without so much

The Impact Of Social Media And Its Impact On Society
It is proven that social media has had a huge impact on the way we live our daily lives. Not only has it changed the way we go about our
days, it has changed the way we communicate and interact with the ones we care the most about. Social media has positively and
negatively impacted our relationships with others. "The original intent of social network was to allow people to more readily stay
connected with friends and family" (Qualman, 286). Yet, how regularly do we judge how much social media has affected the way we
interface with those that we are closest to? Social media has allowed us to connect with more people in various parts of the world that we
wouldn't necessarily meet on a week to week basis. With the expansion in the number of contacts, we can observe that we have access to
numerous more thoughts and assets. It is a lot easier to meet people that have the same traits as you, and it is shown when "out of five
couples meet online" (Qualman, 274). Websites like E–Harmony, Tinder, and Match.com make it easier for single people to find other's
online and communicate before even meeting them. Social media has made it simpler to broaden your effective reach and grow it to
incorporate individuals you'd get the chance to meet, or might want to know better. Many relationships have flourished and grown into
marriages because of these websites and apps and there is a potential these certain people wouldn't have met without them. In the

Fatherhood Fatherhood
Introduction
Fatherhood is the biggest challenge a man can take on in our society. Any man can become a father on the virtue of how sex has derived
from it natural intentions of reproducing, to a form of temporary satisfaction or lust. Many men become fathers of a child rather it was
their true intention or an unexpected occurrence following lust. Myself not too long ago was blessed with the opportunity of becoming a
father. God has other plans for me and my girlfriend and now I am not in a position of fatherhood or the expectancy. For this assignment,
I researched and interviewed four peers of mine that are either fathers or expecting to be fathers. My intentions or this research is to find
the answer to the question: "is fatherhood the greatest accomplishment, or worse anxiety of manhood"?
Process
To answer my question about fatherhood, I interview four peers of mine: two that are new fathers, and two that are expecting to be
fathers. The two men who are expected fathers are my cousin Spencer, and his teammate in Oregon, Nick. Ironically, they are both 21–
year–old college basketball players whose significant others, will be giving birth during the process of the basketball season. The question
I asked them are as followed: "what are your feelings about becoming a father", "how have you been involved in your wife's or
girlfriends' pregnancy", "what part will you play in your child's birth", "what part would you like to play", "what do you think being a

Depression, Marital Distatisfaction, And Marital...
There have been many studies done which found a correlation between depression, marital satisfaction, and marital dissatisfaction.
Depression is defined as a medical illness that causes feelings of sadness, loss of interest, change in appetite, feelings of worthlessness,
and many other symptoms including thoughts of death and suicide. Many researchers measure depression using various methods such as
affective self–reports. Depression is often seen amongst teenagers and some adults, but depression affects many others persons within our
social networks. This can be explained by the socialization hypothesis established by Shakya (2015) which states that individuals
influence one another in a way that one individual's psychological issues, such as depression or happiness, will spread to other social
contacts, much like the spread of an infectious disease. Thus, depression can negatively affect marital satisfaction. Marital satisfaction
refers to whether the partners are content with their marriage and is often measured through a combination of behavioral, affective, and
cognitive self–report measures. If depression negatively affects marital satisfaction, then it will be contributing to marital dissatisfaction.
Marital dissatisfaction indicates the negative evaluation of a person's marital affairs. It is also measured through a combination of
behavioral, affective, and cognitive self–report measures. Research shows that there is correlation between marital dissatisfaction and

You Know When The Men Are Gone By Siobhan Fallon
Siobhan Fallon, has a Master of Fine Art from the New School in New York City in addition to being a military spouse, is the author of
"You Know When the Men Are Gone" a short story collection book. In the short story "You Survived the War Now Survive the
Homecoming" Fallon writes a gripping and enticing story about Carla and her beloved husband, Ted, who returns from war as a changed
man. Carla is struggling with Ted because he is easily enraged and poses as a threat to Carla and their seven month year old child.
Throughout the story Ted and Carla must work together to bridge the change that war brought upon them. In 2011 "You Know When the
Men Are Gone" was published, during this time, the war in Iraq was coming to end and soldiers were returning home from deployment.
Fallon's primary audience consisted of American civilians unaffiliated with a military family or lifestyle. Therefore the audience may be
aware of the life of a military spouse but not entirely informed on the effects war has on a family. This audience shares similar values on
family, for example how important honesty and patience is within families. Although returning home is the most exuberant time for a
soldier longing for their family, Fallon's use of third person perspective in the short story "You Survived the War Now Survive the
Homecoming" exemplifies the reality of Carla, the wife, dealing with the hardships of a returning soldier because adjusting back to
normal civilian lifestyle seems unfeasible.

Analysis Of Deborah Tannen'sBut What Do You Mean?
It is aggravating when my significant other gets mad over the simplest things, Whenever Chris and I have a chance to talk, male and
female communication styles in handling fighting, criticism, and apologies cause low self–esteem to arise within me. Many women tend
to take the blame for their significant others' actions by apologizing entirely too much, but there are times when saying "I'm sorry" is not
self–depreciating. Each morning Chris would always head towards a good conversation with "Good morning" and "How are you?" There
would be times when he would tell jokes; sometimes he would often take his anger out on me either physically or mentally. Deborah
Tannen in her essay "But What Do You Mean?" highlights key points, such as fighting and criticism between the male and female. Tannen
points out throughout her text "that they [men] state their ideas in the strongest possible terms, thinking that if there are weaknesses,
someone will point them out, and by trying to argue against those objections, they will see how well their ideas hold up" (156).
Throughout my relationship with Chris, I learned that his actions towards me changed every time we would try to talk and work things
out. I would go right into fighting and apologizing entirely too much, for his actions. While being in a relationship with Chris for over six
years I started to notice his actions towards me changed from when we had first met. As his girlfriend, I needed to know what caused him
to take his anger

Relationship Dialectics: Analysis: One Of The Stages Of...
Relationships are everywhere, be it your overbearing mother in law, or a new coworker you've started to train at work. Humans are social
creatures, we need to feel important and needed, and the best way to do that is to is to form relationships. For our own benefit and the
benefit of those around us. There are many types of different relationships, there are family, friends, and intimate. I have chosen to do my
analysis paper on one of my current relationships and I have chosen the intimate relationship I am in with my fiancé. My goal of this
paper is to analysis a specific relationship, define one of the stages of partner interaction, and describe relationship dialectics.

This would be around the time I began to trust him implicitly; my affection was unwavering. The best part of this relationship is that it
became an intimate relationship. Everything was laid out and he chose to discovery what else could be in store for us, despite any
differences we may have.
Relationship dialectic are two sides of a spectrum, too much of one thing can throw a relationship out of harmony and cause separation.
That is why it is important to balance and keep things in check, if something needs to be adjusted, consult with your partner and make the
adjustment.
Connection–Autonomy is the balance between the individual and the couple as a single function. The example of the need for my fiancé
to move back to Las Cruses highlights the connection–autonomy dialectic, the concern was doing what was necessary for him as an
individual and balancing time for us and our relationship.
Predictability–novelty is the balance between the familiar comforts of routines and habits to the spontaneous, new, and different things to
try. There is a time for new things occasional, keep in mind that the new thing can fall into habit easily if done excessively, be that a good
or bad thing depending on what the relationship

Importance Of Disabilities In The Film Children Of A...
Disabilities are common throughout the world whether it affects one's ability to walk or talk. Although one may be born disabled, it'll take
time for them to adjust to their surroundings. During their lifetime, many emotions will be shown through words or actions. Seeing
humans maneuver around and communicate, those with disabilities learn; however, they choose to live how they wish. One may reach out
for assistance, while others will ignore the fact that they need help. However, significant others or friends may try to change one's ways in
helping and assisting them to adjust to the everyday lifestyle. Furthermore, the film Children of a Lesser God demonstrates how the deaf
learn to communicate with the hearing. James Leed, who is a teacher of deaf students, comes across a deaf co–worker, Sarah who
becomes his significant other throughout the movie. Although Sarah is incapable of speaking, James communicates with her through

students at his school how to speak and read lips. Although, many can follow his techniques, some cannot. Sarah who is his deaf co–

Heathers Essay
The movie that I have chosen is a classic film from 1988 called Heathers. Heathers is an American cult black comedy film written by
Daniel Waters and directed by Michael Lehmann. The film portrays four teenage girls–three of whom are named Heather–in a clique and
a teen named Veronica Sawyer who desperately wants to fit in, as well as a crazy and unstable boy named J.D that plans to ruin it all. The
focus of this essay will be on three characters. Analyzing their internal and external battles, as well as their social interactions with loved
ones and other members of their fictional society. To begin, I will focus on Veronica Sawyer. Out of the entire movie Veronica has the
most stable family. Born as an only child, her mom and dad were active and involved parents. Veronica attended an Ohio high school
where she met "the heathers". The heathers were three extremely popular teens that ran the school and Veronica wanted nothing more
than to be like them. "The looking glass self" has a very prominent role in regards to Veronica. She viewed herself as less because she was
not as popular or liked as the Heathers. One night after being harassed by the Heathers at a party, Veronica and J.D (a boy she began
seeing) went to Heather Chandler's house with hopes to be accepted by her. After Heather had embarrassed Veronica in front of J.D

Evaluation Of A Quantitative Correlational Research Design
Methodology
Design Overview
A quantitative correlational research design was used to measure the effect that living situations/familial support has on student's GPAs.
An online survey (Appendix 2) was used to collect data on independent and dependent variables. The independent variables included
living situation (e.g. living with parents, spouse/significant other, spouse and kids, friends/roommates, alone, or with grandparents),
support systems available to the students in the DSN program, interruptions that were experienced by the students, the students preferred
location to study, and how many hours a week was spent studying. The independent variables were factors that were considered to have a
possible effect on GPA. The primary dependent variable was GPA; though how many hours a week spent studying was also used as a
dependent variable against the independent variable of familial support.
Sample and Testing
An online survey consisting of ten questions was sent out to all students enrolled at DSN. A total of 638 students were invited to
participate in the study. Students from the DSN Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) completion program, BSN first–degree program,
Associate Degree of Nursing (AND) program, and Licensed Practicing Nurse (LPN) to ADN program participated in the survey resulting
in a total sample size of 100 students.

Sex, Lies, And Conversation Deborah Tannen
In the essay Sex, Lies, and Conversation Deborah Tannen focuses on the differences and lack of communication between men and women
though observations. She came to the conclusion that men were not lacking in their listening, but they were however listening in a
different way than the women did. On the other hand, men aren't the only people that have terrible communication skills. In many ways,
these differences between the two genders can cause major conflict when not understood by the opposite side. A few examples of lack of
communication may be when women don't decide where they would like to eat, men who walk away from an argument rather than
talking it out, and their decision making processes. The stereotypical mask that covers the female gender is that when asked where they
would like to eat, they reply with, 'I don't care, wherever you'd like to go.' Instead of bluntly telling their significant other an actual
response. The indirect message often can lead to frustration and/or annoyance for the other person. This response can mean a number of
things. For one, the woman may not want to come off as too picky or even they are giving lean way for what you might be interested in,
too. However, when suggesting where he might want to go, the woman often says she doesn't want to go there simply because she is
shortening the options without bluntly saying where they want to go. Woman often want the men to think that they care where they would
like to go also just so they

The Application / Device / Product
The Application/ Device/ Product Rather than long distance relationship applications such as Between and Couple that have narrow
focuses on how to strengthen relationships, Tandem introduces a wide variety of features. Tandem includes functions that are nonexistent
on other similar applications. This application consists of every feature one could possibly want to bolster a long distance relationship, all
in one location. The first feature Tandem offers is a calendar component. This feature allows partners to individually upload their personal
calendar to a shared location. The ability to sync and update personal calendars will give the couple a chance to contribute class

Using this, an individual could set a reminder so that they would be reminded three hours before their partner's important interview to
wish them good luck. One could hear their partner describe in July a material item that they want, and put a note about it into reminders
so as to notified several weeks before the winter holidays. An individual could be reminded of anniversaries, birthdays, and events that
are important to their significant other.
Another aspect of this reminders element is the concept of saved texts. This integrant would allow couples to select messages sent to
them, and to add them to a separate folder. This way, one could look back on the messages sent to them days, weeks, months, or years
ago. The usage of this facet is to save important messages such as addresses, recipes, or romantic texts, for easy access at a later time.
Saved texts will grant couples the ability to remember some of the meaningful words exchanged with one another.
A final attribute of the reminders feature is the ability to assign different levels of importance to messages sent using Tandem. Every
message sent will have a default setting of importance 1, meaning that the message is no different than any other notification that you
might receive. Messages designated with levels 2 or 3 would have exclamation points regarding the level of importance, and would
appear as such on their partner's lock screen, showing that these messages have higher priority.

Research Paper
As technology continues to advance everyday, verbal conversation is becoming less common. Even though texting is becoming more
common, it is making understanding ones tone and view on a conversation difficult to understand. People aren't necessarily able to
express emotion over text, regardless of punctuation. One still isn't able to determine if a person could be joking, serious, sarcastic, or
lying because sending a text isn't the same as speaking to a person face to face. Me personally, I have reaped the repercussions of jumping
to conclusions with my conversations through text. With personal experiences, research, and findings I will elaborate more on the topic of

I personally can see myself not being able to concentrate in class as much because I have a significant other that texts me as well as all
my other friends who I don't see all the time. Not only that but social media as well which makes being able to concentrate in class
difficult and being able to focus during work is just as difficult. Texting has made a big impact on conversational aspects in multiple
different ways most outweighing the positives.
The effects of texting on intrapersonal relationships I found were majority negative. Basically today texting has become the main form for
contacting people that aren't close to you. Many individuals use texting to express their feelings, keep in touch with friends, and avoid
communication orally. Even though texting is convenient, simple, and simple it is causing a severe negative effect on face–to–face
conversations. It has come to the point where texting is actually replacing face–to–face communication where people are even too scared
to meet a person physically to speak face–to–face. Nonverbal Competency is "the ability to process and use non–verbal codes to convey
content in effective ways." The nonverbal codes don't exist because there isn't a receiving party. No vocal characteristics, body
movements, or facial expressions of any kind with which to gauge from conversation. Texting has made people lazy and lack face–to–
face conversation skills. Texting has made people shorten their words,

Selfishness
Are you aware of the meaning of true love when the money and the power are sitting comfortably in your hands? In the song "When I
was your Man" by Bruno Mars, he expresses his regret of putting aside a loyal woman. Serving him as a lesson learned, he found the true
meaning of appreciation of a good woman. Bruno Mars expresses the consequences of his decisions. Unfortunately, his choices threw
away an opportunity that was standing at his door step. This song conveys situations in which Bruno Mars could have done more than he
did. Throughout "When I was your Man," he is continually stating things he once took for granted. Therefore forcing him to love and live

Regardless of one's mood, the radio is a source people rely on to deal with mental stresses. Music helps bring people out of a funk. It

Reflection About Relationships
In the two years we have been together, my boyfriend, Andy, and I never talked about what we considered cheating to be. This past July, I
found out that he had spent the night in his car with one of my closests friends, and his ex–girlfriend. I had told him in the past that I was
not comfortable with him being out with a girl late at night, but never fully elaborated on it. Realizing that he had done something I wasn't
comfortable with, he told me he was up late playing Halo, and kept his outing from me for almost a month. Since we had never laid our
boundaries, there were no boundaries to break. Personally, I view cheating as doing something you would not tell your significant other
about, but he sees it as having intimate relations with someone other than your significant other. He saw it as him doing something wrong
and apologized for it, but felt that it was nowhere near cheating. Our disagreement stems from the differences between our beliefs and
expectations for each other.
In our relationship, my boyfriend had never done anything for me to lack a sense of trust. He let me know where he was, even when I did
not want to know, and always tried his best to keep in contact with me. When it came to me spending time with the opposite sex, he was
always comfortable with the idea which is why he thought I felt the same. He had complete trust in me and never minded the time or the
place. Growing up, his father had an intimate relationship with another woman, so to him, that was

The Giver Community Is A Dystopia Essay
The giver community is a dystopia. I know this because when you compare the giver community to our world it takes a minute but I
guarantee it is a dystopia, you can see this because on the out side looking in, you know all of the secrets that make up the giver
community. another reason it is a dystopia is because when people imagine a perfect world it is not anything like the community of the
giver, lastly is the fact that the government plans out people's lives. I will go into detail and make many other points in this essay about
both sides of this question.
The giver community is a dystopia first of all because when you are on the outside looking in, you know that the whole community is

This is just one of the many examples in the book that show that the government can control your life. Not to mention how they also
control your significant other, your job, your siblings, and your life decisions, and even your personality traits. Just think about no being
able to choose the person your supposed to love and get through life together with.
You could argue that the community is a utopia because everyone is happy and that the people not knowing what is going on is a good
thing. Or that people not saying mean things and expressing what they truly feel is a good thing because it won't cause arguments and
fights. Even the fact that people don't have a choice with family and more importantly significant others could mean that there are no
divorces and no fights about who Marries who. Another example why it could be a utopia is that people don't have to choose their jobs so
they don't need too tire themselves out working super hard just to get the job that you want. I agree that the government choosing and
planning your whole life out for you can be a good thing. But their are so many other bad things about the community that it outweighs
all of the good.
In conclusion I think that the leader is dehumanizing the community and focusing too much on the requirements to have a utopia and not
how the actual citizens would feel if they knew

to their own partners. Before parting ways, they each wrote their name and contact information in a book, and on a five dollar bill, so if
they ever crossed paths again they knew it would be fate. This is the story of Jonathan and Sara, told in the movie 'Serendipity'. The
movie shows the ups and downs of relationships and two lovers on the search to meet again. Although the movie is titled 'Serendipity',

Thus, the word began to be heard everywhere, from film titles, to inspirational quotes, there's even a children's book series titled
'Serendipity'.
There are overlaps between many words in the English language that can be confused with each other. Take fate, for example, being
thought of as a supernatural power, it is used to describe events that a person can not control. One may use fate to describe a how perfect
a certain couple is when telling a crazy story of how they met. This is not serendipity. Serendipity is when one person is on a search trying
to find an answer, or a specific item, and then finding something better and not expecting it. These two terms are used together often to
describe how events occurred. A classic example of confusion between the two words is in the movie 'Serendipity'. Fate is talked about
more than serendipity is, but serendipity would be a better word to use since each person was trying to buy socks for their significant
other but found someone else to love. It's understandable that the word fate could be used, since it was like a force of nature that was
trying to pull them back together. If someone feels as if they found something they were not originally trying to find, and it was a better
than the first one, that is serendipity.
Overall, the main definition of serendipity is different than the many similar words one may originally try to use. Since the origin of the

Kate Chopin 's The Storm Essay
Kelly Obert Professor Dr. Firtha English 1B January 17, 2016 The Storm by Kate Chopin. While it has traditionally been men who have
attached the "ball and chain" philosophy to marriage, Kate Chopin gave readers a woman's view of how repressive and confining
marriage can be for a woman, both spiritually and sexually. While many of her works incorporated the notion of women as repressed

"aggressive ruckus of the environment with thunder, lighting, snow, powerful winds and rain," or "a violent response," when it is broken

the erotic sexual rendezvous bounded by the characters Alcee and Calixta as well as molding a captivating tone, and a reminiscent affair

Self–Fulfilling Prophecies There are a couple of scenes in the movie Good Will Hunting that show self–fulfilling prophecies. The first
scene in the movie that depicts self–fulfilling prophecies is when Will goes to call Skylar but then does not say anything when she
answers the phone. The second scene in Good Will Hunting that represents self–fulfilling prophecies is when Will and Skylar are laying
in bed and Skylar asks Will to go to California with her. Will gets defensive and begins to push Skylar away and they get into a heated

Persuasive Essay On How To End Your Relationship
Why is it so hard to breakup with someone without seeming like a "jerk" or even an "ass?" It's not that you don't love them, it's not that
you're bored with them, but the simple fact that you have "outgrown" the person you thought you might spend the rest of your life with.
When two people go their separate ways and choose to breakup, the person who ends it, is fed up the most, but at what cost? Almost
everyone you know that has been in a long relationship and has broken up, has been conflicted on how to end it. If you follow the five
steps "MCPSR," meditate, conversate, plan the date, separate, and reevaluate you will be single without worry.
The first thing you do not want to do is jump to conclusions, and end the relationship without thought. Because if you end the relationship
this way, you will regret it later. You will feel guilty about the way you handled the situation, and from perspective of the significant
other, you, my friend are going to be resented for forever and a day. The first approach is to "meditate," or take some "me time." Me time
is what one likes to call time that no is around to bother you and make you wish you were on death road laying in your casket with your
phone in your hand about to make your last life changing tweet before taking your last breath. When taking your "me time," you need to
think about all of the good and all of the bad in your relationship. If you can't pin it on the first try, attempt to write it down. Make two
columns, on one side write "good" and on the other write "bad." When doing this you are listing all of the good things and all of the bad
things in your relationship, this helps you way your options on whether to end it or attempt to save it. If the good out ways the bad, then
that is when you should consider saving it, but if the bad out ways the good... you should consider dropping them like a hot tamale on a
late Saturday night at 3:00 in the morning watching cartoons trying to shove it in your mouth after 3.2 seconds out of the microwave.
Your second step is simple, "conversate". Talk to someone that has been in your situation. Why? Glad you asked, you do this because the
person who has been in your situation knows the do's and the don'ts to ending a

Should Americans Have A Longer Work Week?
Americans have been working themselves at least forty hours or more a week for what seems like forever, and sometimes they work
continuously for 12 to 14 days until they either have enough money saved up or to have at least a day or two days off. Most Americans
work through holidays or even work themselves enough to have a high level of stress. The question is would it better for Americans to
have a shorter working week or not? If Americans have a shorter work week, they could spend their time off with their family or even
relaxing to reduce all stress that they endure over time from working continuously, but there might be some setbacks for the smaller
businesses if it happens. The shorter work week will help Americans out by lowering their stress level and don't have any relationships,

The Importance Of Love For Family

  • 1. The Importance Of Love For Family The ideal choice would always to be able to have both, but like the famous saying goes, "you can't have cake and eat it too". Love is something that will be attained by those close to you, such as relatives and significant others, but respect is something that can be earned by all. To have love without respect, rather, is possessive and unhealthy. In addition, love can also push people act and behave differently than they would normally. Through life, many will encounter many different people and form many different bonds. However, only few will grow to truly love all the people they meet within their lifetime. Of course, one would believe that love for family members and relatives will be unconditional, and selfless. Moreover, if one is to look back the relationships that is between those family members, there is a big realization. These particular relationships that are formed, especially with the elder generations, we have an undeniable respect and admiration for them. This may have not been the initial purpose but is still an effect of establishing boundaries. Boundaries are essential for any relationship that one may have with any other individual. A line that shall not be crossed, if you will. Thus, whether it is a parent, an aunt, or any loved one, one will know how far to go with that said individual. On the same account, respect can be applied to any relationship, not just the personal relationships such as the ones named above. You will can get more with respect ... • 5. Statement Of Purpose To Become A Neonatal Nurse About Me I have many goals in my life. I want to be able to do better than what my mom has done and show her that I can make something of myself. I can go to college and get as many degrees as I want as long as I put my mind to it. My other goals in life would to become a either a neonatal nurse practitioner or historian studying black history. I want to become either a neonatal nurse practitioner because I love caring for sick babies and helping them grow and improve. The main reason why I want to become to a neonatal nurse is because of my brother's was born with heart problems which caused him to be in the NICU for quite some time. His problems have left him with permanent scarring and a deep voice for the rest of his life. Seeing that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It may sound scary but it is true. I am a highly indeed private person and I don't want others knowing about me unless I want them to and I sense that they are a good a person. I have a high priority in being true to oneself. If you're not able to be true to yourself then how can you get around in life? How will you achieve anything in life? Let alone love other people and many other things. I am also extremely observant of the people around me. I can't be friends with everyone I meet. You will never know what they could be plotting against you behind your back as well as if they really think of you as a friend. I have learned that the hard way as I grown up over the years. That is why I have very few close friends and the rest are people I just talk to when I don't want to be lonely during the school hours. Now I think about the future way too much to the point where I get death and start to question what happens when I'm gone. I have already have everything planned out and know where I'm going to be doing and what not. I know I want to go to a community college and get my required courses out of the way. If I enjoy the community college, I will eventually stay there and then go forward into getting my bachelor's and master's. I will hopefully be living somewhere it snows a lot and have very long winters. I will be living in either a tiny home with my significant other a small ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Personal Statement : My Underlying Fear The reason I picked these two individuals to interview is because I knew that they were both in a relationship and I knew them well enough personally that they would be comfortable talking about personal moments in their lives that would allow me to fully examine and evaluate their responses. My underlying fear was that both of the interviews would bring about very similar data with no room for comparisons, but thankfully my fears proved unwarranted. Both of the interviewees had a vested interest in happiness and relationships. To code my two interviewees, I will first regard what characteristics or backgrounds each person had that could have influenced their thoughts on happiness or relationships. Such traits could be their demographics, as both of them were Hispanic and were born in a different country before moving to the United States when they were very young. Both are bilingual in English and Spanish. Both have a younger sibling and a strong maternal figure. Employment status, another coding variable, was different between them. Interviewee 1 had had jobs, but was no longer working, but interviewee 2 continues to work his job during the graveyard shift. Both are in intimate relationships, but the happiness from each relationship varies between the two, along with the thoughts of their partners. Interviewee 1 rarely spoke of problems she had with her significant other while interviewee 2 listed several traits that he found damaging in his significant other. These ... • 21. Summary Of The Short Existence Of Francis Macomber Ernest Hemingway has made a magnum opus of various mystery in his story "The Short Existence of Francis Macomber''. The riddle does not reveal itself to the pursuer until the very closure of the story, yet it leaves a lot of creative energy. Around the finish of this story Margaret Macomber butchers her significant other unexpectedly, she tries to spare him from being battered by extensive Bison while they were on a safari in Africa. The mystery is paying little respect to whether the killing was inadvertent, or purposeful. It was purposeful, they would have many proof in the story to give you a reasonable intention too. What makes this riddle uncommon is that Hemingway gives the pursuer different events that would lead the pursuer to devise a commendable rationale, yet human impulse tells the pursuer that this executing couldn't have been deliberate. From a just target investigation of the story, the pursuer would see altogether additionally supporting the theory of a deliberate executing rather than a coincidental one. The snippets of data supporting Margaret executed Francis intentionally can best be seen when watching and focus the foundation information on both Francis Macomber, and Margaret herself. (Hemingway 1402). What is in like manner key is that Margot and Francis have altogether different personalities. This is doubtlessly watched when the storyteller states, (Hemingway 1402). With this little measure of foundation data, the intention in a deliberate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 25. Theme Of Love In The Great Gatsby In the Great Gatsby, the author first introduces ideas of infidelity through Tom Buchanan, an upper class man from old money, and Myrtle Wilson, a woman from the valley of ashes with a poor, working class background. Both tired of their respective significant others, they find themselves together in their love nest apartment in New York City, both enjoying what the other has to offer. Specifically, Myrtle, takes joy from using the money that Tom has to get materialistic things that she wants and Tom, getting some action and thrill using her. This in itself shows obvious power differences all due to their background. However, Nick Carraway, the narrator for the book observes this first hand when he first goes out with Tom and Myrtle. On their way to their love nest, Myrtle notices someone selling dogs, exclaiming ""I think it's cute,"and furthermore "how much is it?" "'That dog?' [said the seller who] looked at it admiringly 'That dog will cost you ten dollars.'" In reply, "'Is it a boy or girl?' she [asks] delicately. Tom, participating in the conversation at last, "'It's a bitch' said Tom decisively. 'Here's your money. Go and buy ten more dogs with it?'" (Fitzgerald 28). Though at first this can be assumed as Tom giving in to Myrtle's whims in hopes to keep her happy, when looked further, there is a clear sign that Tom disregards this encounter. With the way he assumes dominance in the way he decides whether the dog is boy or a girl, and how be pays it off without so much ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 29. The Impact Of Social Media And Its Impact On Society It is proven that social media has had a huge impact on the way we live our daily lives. Not only has it changed the way we go about our days, it has changed the way we communicate and interact with the ones we care the most about. Social media has positively and negatively impacted our relationships with others. "The original intent of social network was to allow people to more readily stay connected with friends and family" (Qualman, 286). Yet, how regularly do we judge how much social media has affected the way we interface with those that we are closest to? Social media has allowed us to connect with more people in various parts of the world that we wouldn't necessarily meet on a week to week basis. With the expansion in the number of contacts, we can observe that we have access to numerous more thoughts and assets. It is a lot easier to meet people that have the same traits as you, and it is shown when "out of five couples meet online" (Qualman, 274). Websites like E–Harmony, Tinder, and Match.com make it easier for single people to find other's online and communicate before even meeting them. Social media has made it simpler to broaden your effective reach and grow it to incorporate individuals you'd get the chance to meet, or might want to know better. Many relationships have flourished and grown into marriages because of these websites and apps and there is a potential these certain people wouldn't have met without them. • 37. Fatherhood Fatherhood Introduction Fatherhood is the biggest challenge a man can take on in our society. Any man can become a father on the virtue of how sex has derived from it natural intentions of reproducing, to a form of temporary satisfaction or lust. Many men become fathers of a child rather it was their true intention or an unexpected occurrence following lust. Myself not too long ago was blessed with the opportunity of becoming a father. God has other plans for me and my girlfriend and now I am not in a position of fatherhood or the expectancy. For this assignment, I researched and interviewed four peers of mine that are either fathers or expecting to be fathers. My intentions or this research is to find the answer to the question: "is fatherhood the greatest accomplishment, or worse anxiety of manhood"? Process To answer my question about fatherhood, I interview four peers of mine: two that are new fathers, and two that are expecting to be fathers. The two men who are expected fathers are my cousin Spencer, and his teammate in Oregon, Nick. Ironically, they are both 21– year–old college basketball players whose significant others, will be giving birth during the process of the basketball season. The question I asked them are as followed: "what are your feelings about becoming a father", "how have you been involved in your wife's or girlfriends' pregnancy", "what part will you play in your child's birth", "what part would you like to play", "what do you think being a "good father" ... • 41. Depression, Marital Distatisfaction, And Marital... There have been many studies done which found a correlation between depression, marital satisfaction, and marital dissatisfaction. Depression is defined as a medical illness that causes feelings of sadness, loss of interest, change in appetite, feelings of worthlessness, and many other symptoms including thoughts of death and suicide. Many researchers measure depression using various methods such as affective self–reports. Depression is often seen amongst teenagers and some adults, but depression affects many others persons within our social networks. This can be explained by the socialization hypothesis established by Shakya (2015) which states that individuals influence one another in a way that one individual's psychological issues, such as depression or happiness, will spread to other social contacts, much like the spread of an infectious disease. Thus, depression can negatively affect marital satisfaction. Marital satisfaction refers to whether the partners are content with their marriage and is often measured through a combination of behavioral, affective, and cognitive self–report measures. If depression negatively affects marital satisfaction, then it will be contributing to marital dissatisfaction. Marital dissatisfaction indicates the negative evaluation of a person's marital affairs. It is also measured through a combination of behavioral, affective, and cognitive self–report measures. Research shows that there is correlation between marital dissatisfaction and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

You Know When The Men Are Gone By Siobhan Fallon Siobhan Fallon, has a Master of Fine Art from the New School in New York City in addition to being a military spouse, is the author of "You Know When the Men Are Gone" a short story collection book. In the short story "You Survived the War Now Survive the Homecoming" Fallon writes a gripping and enticing story about Carla and her beloved husband, Ted, who returns from war as a changed man. Carla is struggling with Ted because he is easily enraged and poses as a threat to Carla and their seven month year old child. Throughout the story Ted and Carla must work together to bridge the change that war brought upon them. In 2011 "You Know When the Men Are Gone" was published, during this time, the war in Iraq was coming to end and soldiers were returning home from deployment. Fallon's primary audience consisted of American civilians unaffiliated with a military family or lifestyle. Therefore the audience may be aware of the life of a military spouse but not entirely informed on the effects war has on a family. This audience shares similar values on family, for example how important honesty and patience is within families. Although returning home is the most exuberant time for a soldier longing for their family, Fallon's use of third person perspective in the short story "You Survived the War Now Survive the Homecoming" exemplifies the reality of Carla, the wife, dealing with the hardships of a returning soldier because adjusting back to normal civilian lifestyle seems unfeasible. ... • 49. Analysis Of Deborah Tannen'sBut What Do You Mean? It is aggravating when my significant other gets mad over the simplest things, Whenever Chris and I have a chance to talk, male and female communication styles in handling fighting, criticism, and apologies cause low self–esteem to arise within me. Many women tend to take the blame for their significant others' actions by apologizing entirely too much, but there are times when saying "I'm sorry" is not self–depreciating. Each morning Chris would always head towards a good conversation with "Good morning" and "How are you?" There would be times when he would tell jokes; sometimes he would often take his anger out on me either physically or mentally. Deborah Tannen in her essay "But What Do You Mean?" highlights key points, such as fighting and criticism between the male and female. Tannen points out throughout her text "that they [men] state their ideas in the strongest possible terms, thinking that if there are weaknesses, someone will point them out, and by trying to argue against those objections, they will see how well their ideas hold up" (156). Throughout my relationship with Chris, I learned that his actions towards me changed every time we would try to talk and work things out. I would go right into fighting and apologizing entirely too much, for his actions. While being in a relationship with Chris for over six years I started to notice his actions towards me changed from when we had first met. As his girlfriend, I needed to know what caused him to take his anger ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Heathers is an American cult black comedy film written by Daniel Waters and directed by Michael Lehmann. The film portrays four teenage girls–three of whom are named Heather–in a clique and a teen named Veronica Sawyer who desperately wants to fit in, as well as a crazy and unstable boy named J.D that plans to ruin it all. The focus of this essay will be on three characters. Analyzing their internal and external battles, as well as their social interactions with loved ones and other members of their fictional society. To begin, I will focus on Veronica Sawyer. Out of the entire movie Veronica has the most stable family. Born as an only child, her mom and dad were active and involved parents. Veronica attended an Ohio high school where she met "the heathers". The heathers were three extremely popular teens that ran the school and Veronica wanted nothing more than to be like them. "The looking glass self" has a very prominent role in regards to Veronica. She viewed herself as less because she was not as popular or liked as the Heathers. One night after being harassed by the Heathers at a party, Veronica and J.D (a boy she began seeing) went to Heather Chandler's house with hopes to be accepted by her. After Heather had embarrassed Veronica in front of J.D Heather asks for a drink. While Veronica was not looking J.D poured laundry detergent into the cup thus killing Heather Chandler. Sex, Lies, And Conversation Deborah Tannen In the essay Sex, Lies, and Conversation Deborah Tannen focuses on the differences and lack of communication between men and women though observations. She came to the conclusion that men were not lacking in their listening, but they were however listening in a different way than the women did. On the other hand, men aren't the only people that have terrible communication skills. In many ways, these differences between the two genders can cause major conflict when not understood by the opposite side. A few examples of lack of communication may be when women don't decide where they would like to eat, men who walk away from an argument rather than talking it out, and their decision making processes. The stereotypical mask that covers the female gender is that when asked where they would like to eat, they reply with, 'I don't care, wherever you'd like to go.' Instead of bluntly telling their significant other an actual response. The indirect message often can lead to frustration and/or annoyance for the other person. This response can mean a number of things. For one, the woman may not want to come off as too picky or even they are giving lean way for what you might be interested in, too. However, when suggesting where he might want to go, the woman often says she doesn't want to go there simply because she is shortening the options without bluntly saying where they want to go. An individual could be reminded of anniversaries, birthdays, and events that are important to their significant other. Another aspect of this reminders element is the concept of saved texts. This integrant would allow couples to select messages sent to them, and to add them to a separate folder. This way, one could look back on the messages sent to them days, weeks, months, or years ago. Every message sent will have a default setting of importance 1, meaning that the message is no different than any other notification that you might receive. Even though texting is becoming more common, it is making understanding ones tone and view on a conversation difficult to understand. Texting has made a big impact on conversational aspects in multiple different ways most outweighing the positives. The effects of texting on intrapersonal relationships I found were majority negative. Basically today texting has become the main form for contacting people that aren't close to you. Many individuals use texting to express their feelings, keep in touch with friends, and avoid communication orally. Even though texting is convenient, simple, and simple it is causing a severe negative effect on face–to–face conversations. This past July, I found out that he had spent the night in his car with one of my closests friends, and his ex–girlfriend. I had told him in the past that I was not comfortable with him being out with a girl late at night, but never fully elaborated on it. Realizing that he had done something I wasn't comfortable with, he told me he was up late playing Halo, and kept his outing from me for almost a month. Since we had never laid our boundaries, there were no boundaries to break. Personally, I view cheating as doing something you would not tell your significant other about, but he sees it as having intimate relations with someone other than your significant other. He saw it as him doing something wrong and apologized for it, but felt that it was nowhere near cheating. Our disagreement stems from the differences between our beliefs and expectations for each other. In our relationship, my boyfriend had never done anything for me to lack a sense of trust. He let me know where he was, even when I did not want to know, and always tried his best to keep in contact with me. When it came to me spending time with the opposite sex, he was always comfortable with the idea which is why he thought I felt the same. Serendipity is when one person is on a search trying to find an answer, or a specific item, and then finding something better and not expecting it. These two terms are used together often to describe how events occurred. A classic example of confusion between the two words is in the movie 'Serendipity'. Fate is talked about more than serendipity is, but serendipity would be a better word to use since each person was trying to buy socks for their significant other but found someone else to love. It's understandable that the word fate could be used, since it was like a force of nature that was trying to pull them back together. If someone feels as if they found something they were not originally trying to find, and it was a better than the first one, that is serendipity. Overall, the main definition of serendipity is different than the many similar words one may originally try to use. Since the origin of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
