Evaluation of Preliminary Task.

2. Part One Of The Preliminary Task
I believe that this part of the task went very well and we
all contributed equally to this part of the task. We all
made different slides each and helped each other during
this part of the task. I dont think anything more could’ve
been done on this part of the task other than we could
have thought more about our ideas and expanded on them
more rather than just going for it. In the future I think I
will give more thought to my ideas and expand on them
more to boost my chances of a better grade.

3. Part Two Of The Preliminary Task
I also think that this part of the task went especially well
due to us working so well as a team. We all chose the
team roles fairly quickly and stuck to what we had to do.
We all chose our roles and even worked on some of our
work at home so that we could get on with other things in
lesson time. I don’t really think there was much more
room for improvement other than we could have used
more detail. In the future I think I will do the same and
maybe add some more detail if needed.

4. Creating A Jingle
I believe this part of the task was fairly straight forward
and easy to complete. We all made our own jingles but
then had to pick a joint one to use for the final thing. We
ended up using my jingle for the interview and really
enjoyed using Adobe Audition. I think for next time I will
spend more time on it and try to add more attention to
detail to make it look a lot more professional and
complex.

5. Using Audition
Audition was a very easy piece of software to use due to
the similarities it shares with premier. The fact that it
was similar to premier meant that I could get my work
done quicker and more effectively. In this task the only
improvement that could’ve been made is possibly
spending more time on finding my track and using more
websites rather than sticking to the one website. In the
future I will explore more sites to find what I want so that
I get more of a variety in my audio files.

6. Recording In The Studio
We all really enjoyed using the recording studio for our
task. I believe that the Pro Tools software was fairly
simple to use and we all liked using the double screens.
The only thing that went wrong in this part of the task
was the fact that the recording studio wasn’t working
properly when we first went to use it so we had to wait
for it to be fixed before we could record. In future I think
we will try use the recording studio more but other than
that I wouldn’t change what we did this time.

7. Recording Using A Dictaphone
The dictaphone is a really simple little piece of
technology to use and all we had to do was simply press
record, then stop and then import it onto the computer
which was easy for us all to do and it didn’t take long. the
only thing that went wrong was that we recorded
something then it got lost, this happened twice. In the
future I think we will all try and keep track of where our
recording is and that it doesn’t get deleted.

8. Editing Using Audition
Using Adobe Audition for our editing was a fun way of
doing our editing and was a little bit complex but we all
handled it really well and when we knew how to use the
software properly, was fairly simple and a fun process. I
think that the only thing that went wrong was that at
times we got really agitated with the software and moved
onto something else when we didn’t know what to do. In
future I will be a lot calmer when using the software due
to having more knowledge on how to use it.

9. Team Work
As a team I believe that we all work really well together
and we all put forward a fair contribution. We all took on
different tasks and aspects of the task and made it easier
and quicker to complete the task as a whole. We made
sure we did as much as possible in lesson time and we
worked round all of the problems. I wouldn’t change
anything about our team and how we worked. In future I
think we will all work together as a team again like we
did in this task.

10. Blogging
I uploaded all of my work to blogger in detail, however in
this part of the task I think that I didn’t really keep on top
of everything and uploaded everything last minute which
meant that it affected the amount of work I had left to do
and will effectively, affect my grade for this task. In
future I will definitely keep up to date with my blog posts
and start to upload my work as soon as I’ve completed it
so it doesn’t all mount up and just become a weight on
my shoulder.

11. Individual Contribution To The Team
We all worked really well as a team and I think that my
individual contribution was just as much as everyone elses
in the team. Although, I think I was the one who dealt
with small last minute problems. I wouldn’t change
anything from my side of the work and believe that as a
whole we all did brilliantly in this task. In the future I
think that I will continue to work in the way I did for this
task, however I think I will make sure that I have more
motivation next time.

12. Class Work
In this aspect of the task, we had to make sure that we
did as much as possible in lesson time to prevent having
lots to do at home. We managed our time very well in
lessons and there were only one or two things that
needed to be finished at home.I think sometimes we
lacked motivation and inspiration but we dealt with it and
got everything done. In the future I think we will all make
sure that we work at a quick and effective pace like in
this task, just with a little more motivation at times.

13. Independent work (in spare time)
This aspect of the task wasn’t really used much in our
task due to the fact that we always used lesson time
effectively and we were good with our time management.
We wrote up our script in our spare time and uploaded
things to blogger in spare time but other than that we did
it all in lesson. In the future I think we will use
independent working time to add more detail to our work
and improve in certain areas, like doing a small
evaluation when we think everything is complete and then
improving where we can.
