Looking back at your preliminary task (the continuity editing task), what
do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to full product?
Editing
 Our editing in the final piece was a lot
smoother than it was in the continuity task
this was because as we used the software
more we got the hang of what to do and so
we were able to be more creative and didn’t
use things that didn’t fit which we tried to do
in the continuity task.
ExamplesFinal Piece
Preliminary
Examples
 My examples show that in my Preliminary
task I used affects that were unneeded which
made the piece look poor. Whereas in my
final task, I didn’t use the unneeded effects
and as a result my outcome was better than
the Preliminary.
Shots
 We used a lot more shots in our final piece
than we did in the Preliminary task such as
close ups, POV shots and long shots, we
didn’t use a great variety in our Preliminary
we mainly just used over the shoulder shots
and mid shots.
Final Piece
This shows just some of the shots we used in our final
piece, we tried to include as many different shots as we
could as this was something we didn’t do in the
perimliary and so wanted to improve from that and
incorporate our better ideas into it my favourite shot was
the close up of George leaning down to pick up his apple
as I feel it was very effective.
What I learnt
 I learnt that the editing needed to be a lot
smoother from frame to frame to have a
smoother piece of work, also I needed to take a
lot more shots so that it made more sense as a
piece.
 I also needed to not put effects onto my piece
that were unneeded for example the sharpness
of the mental hospital in my preliminary but it
was needed in my final piece when the injection
is given as he is falling asleep.
What I learnt
 I also learnt that it takes a lot of work for just
the two minutes of work, and the amount of
time I spent editing the piece I would have
liked more time to perfect the piece.
