1. Self- Evaluation
pre - production
WWW
Last year i made a horror film with a different group so i have experience on the pre-
production work which should have given be a boost. Some work i remember and i included
but some things were different. It was also good as i could look back at my old work which
some things i did. My manager should have given me the roles of what i should get done
but it was all over the place in my opinion. I think that what we produced was good and i
was surprised we actually got good work done. My teacher gave us a distinction which i and
others were very surprised. From that day i said we could do it and it's been a tricky few
months but we got the pre-production done.
I think the budget was completed well as i said what we would need to buy and i found out
the prices of things.

Pre-production was an extremely difficult stage but i managed to get through it. Our group
has gone through a lot with the timing of it all. We struggled to get the script and the
storyboard done. They were the main things that were hard to get done. I feel that
improvements could have been made in many ways such as working harder as a team,
spacing out my work and i when i looked back on it there were a few mistakes that i should
have made better. The problem is that we went over the deadline which was a problem. We
found out that one of our group members left which meant we had to change some of the
script as there were only three of us. If i knew this earlier then things would have changed
and i think that we wouldn't be so behind. In my honest opinion our manger wasn't good
enough but i don't blame her it is a hard job. In my honest opinion i feel that i tried hard and
yes i could work harder but it's been a hard task. But i now know for next time to get it done
on time and work extra hard. We wanted everything to be the best so if there was a mistake
we would have to change it but i know for next time that we can't afford to go back. The
storyboard was a real problem and i do regret that we didn't get it done in time but the
manager wanted it to be perfect so we weren't aloud to draw it. Overall the whole of pre-
production i feel like i could have worked harder.
2. Production
WWW
When we started to film i think throughout the process it seemed to be going well. On the
first day we got a lot done. We tried to do it as quick as possible but my group and i
struggled. I felt that we made some nice shots and we all made it look really good. We
wanted it to be perfect but i think we could have taken a lot less time to finish it.
We all had a turn on the camera as we all wanted to learn and see if we could and we all did
well. All of my group members were in the music video which gave them something to do.
We all took part in the media music video. I was the main character and i felt i did well with
acting i have had acting experience from last year in media when i did a short horror film
which definitely helped me. I also used a camera last year but again i was in most scenes but
when i wasn’t i tried to film some shots. We had to change the script it many ways as when
we filmed some parts didn't work. But we still went on and got focused.
EBI
There were many problems The problem was is that we didn’t get our timing right some of
us would be busy which could cause problems. In the end it was our fault we didn’t have a
plan to get through it. But i know for next time to have a proper plan and to get it done and
work harder. I felt like we could have done more shots as we did it it didn’t seemright to
have so many shots. I also felt like some of the scenes were repetitive and were unneeded
Sometimes when we filmed we didn't look properly for the quality of the lighting so it wasn't
always good but we tried our best. But i know for next time to slow down and take our time
to get it working and hopefully better. Most of the time we looked back on the footage
straight after we would do a shot or few. I was always looking out for continuity errors i
would notice as we did it many times and i think that it helped the group as we weren't
always focused. When we looked back and some shots it all looks good and there aren't any
continuity errors. Overall i think the filming went well but i know it definitely could have
been a lot better and i know my target for the next project that timing is one of the key
things i need to improve.

I feel that when we were focused we actually got down to good work and made the video
suit in order as our shots didn’t seem long enough and it was hard to get it done.
I tried to make the shots come in and go out on the beat as that's what we had to do and by
watching music videos people do that in theirs it's a common thing. We wanted to find a
good bang at the end and a slamagainst the ground so it would make it look like i fell and
actually shot myself. I feel that i did good work in editing but definitely could have done
better but now that i have had practice it can help me for the next task. We could have done
more shots but as we rushed it we didn't have enough time.
EBI
Editing in my opinion was the most stressful process as we were so unsure what should go
where we didn't plan right with the timing of the song and the beat we were very unsure
about it and it did take us a very long time to finish when it shouldn't have but it did because
we had a gap without any footage because our pre production wasn't planned right and it's
our fault because we didn't plan a long enough script as the song is 4 minutes and 30
seconds which is a long song but when we filmed everything we thought we had everything
and enough footage but when we started editing we got to the point where we couldn't
stretch out the footage anymore and had 1 minute and 40 seconds to fill in and we left it too
late so we had to rush it but we have done it we managed to do last minute filming and
completed it. It was hard to make our shots on the right beat.
