2. Photoshop
When using Photoshop I will be using PIXLR editor as I frequently
use this at home and feel most confident when using it, this
software is free and easily can be accessed from home or at school.
So doing my magazine will be available either during school time
or home time.
Another software which we could use would be PAINTDOTNET
however this is only available to access at school so this may be a
problem if we needed to do some touch ups at home.
Adobe Photoshop is also a good photo shopping website because
it has many different tools you can use for example changing the
colour of an object. However you only get a 30 day free trial when
using it so if I was to use it, I’d not be allowed to change it once it’s
done.
Overall I think personally PIXLR is the better choice because it’s easy
to use and available from anywhere, this will mean that I can
achieve a better piece because I am confident with using it
3. Blogger
Blogger is a Blog publishing website that allows you to set up your own
blogs. We use blogger to upload all our work, this means all our research,
planning and final pieces are all together on one place. This makes our work
neat and easy to find. Blogger is easy to use however certain things like
adding labels across the top meant I had to do further research into how to
add them.
Uploading software
Slide share allows you to upload PowerPoints onto your blow through embedding
them onto a blog post. Slide share is the best website for uploading your work and I
find it’s easy to work with and uploads work in the same standard as the original.
Scribd allows you to upload documents from word. I found that this made the work
layout change, and can affect it if you add pictures as they’re blurry and hard to read.
This is why when uploading a piece from word I didn’t use this site and rather
screenshotted my work and uploaded it as an image.
4. PowerPoint
I found that PowerPoint is the best software to present my work as it is the easiest to use, you can do all different things on
PowerPoint such as add pictures and videos. I also think that it looks neat and tidy when presenting as you can add various
different animations and designs to make the presentation look visually pleasing. To upload it onto my blog its fairly simple,
you have to go through slide-share, then embed it into the blog. This is easier than prezi or word as it doesn’t mess with
the designs. What I also like about PowerPoint is that its easy to save things and come back to them later, also it’s available
at home so its to access from my home computer. This means I can do my work from home, school and even when I’m on
the move.
When laying out big pieces of text I like to use word, this just organises the information and makes it easy to
read. However when uploading onto my blog it’s difficult as the format of the document can become jarred,
this means I have to upload it through a screenshot giving a less clear image. One good point about word is
that it’s easily accessible at home so any unfinished work can be opened from anywhere. One major issue
with it is the layout, it’s hard to add images and lay them out appropriately, as last year I used word to do my
final magazine I may consider using a different software as it was very challenging to add text onto images
without the image and text becoming blurry and unreadable.
5. Photography
To take the various photos for our magazines we will be using various different iPhone’s,
possible using a proper camera for the front page to make it look more clear and
professional. The only problem when taking images is that sometimes an image can look
clear but once you start zooming and cropping it can become very pixilated. So when taking
pictures we need to be sure to take multiple images and select the best one.
