2. When we started this task it was very difficult to grasp
the concept of the technology used in order to
achieve a media product. At first our main source
of technology mainly for our preliminary task is the
school based website called “Fronter” it was
necessary to put our written work and designs on
this website so it is easier to access. From
Fronter I have learnt a variety of new techniques
which further aids in my knowledge about
technology. One of the main things I learnt from
Fronter is creating page efficiently and accurately
which includes all the hyperlinks.
3. How to Import images
At first I found it very difficult to create a page. However as I
kept using Fronter it became second nature. As my skills
using Fronter developed I used more advanced methods in
order to put across my points more clearly. An example of
this is embedding a YouTube video I created for my Target
Audience Research so it is easier to understand what
specific audiences are saying. In addition while I created my
Production Schedule and Call Log I managed to learn how to
create a table so it is easier to include more information
because it is in a structured format. To make my pages seem
more vibrate I learnt how to import images with
corresponded to the title of the hyper link.
4. As I mentioned before I had created a YouTube video for my target
audience research however I learnt many things through the editing
process. The software I used in order to edit the raw footage of the
interview was called Final Cut Pro .Since the footage was quite big I
had to shorten it by using a cut tool so that only the most relevant
information is included. In addition I didn’t want to render to two of
my videos so I merged the two together so it is only one file. However
I didn't just want a continuous stream of Questions and Answers
since it would be too rushed. So I included transition effects in
between each as answer so there is a slight break giving you time to
process the answer. In addition to make the video seem more genuine
I included an Intro and Outro which shows who's in the video so it is
easier to differentiate between my two interviewees.
Using YouTube Video Editor to
include annotations.
Adding finishing touches on the
video.
5. However the main aspect I have learnt a lot about through this process is Photoshop. The Photoshop
software we used was called CS6. Since we used this mostly from the beginning of the process it gave be
time to learn new things and develop basic methods to create something much more creative. Something I
have developed overtime was my ability to edit photos. Since this is a music magazine it is correct to
include a sloppy picture. So I tried to edit out white marks noticeable in the hair so that it can create a true
representation. In addition I wanted the main image to stand out so I used the dodge tool to make the skin
of my model seem a bit brighter thus attracting more of the audience(Tutorial see next slide). In addition I
found the using the spacebar to make text go around the image not work as well for me. To resolve this I
used the inverse tool to make so that it selects only the image(Tutorial see slide 7). Finally I found it very
frustrating to move each layer during the whole process of editing my magazine. So I found a way to easily
move the required layer with one click. Using the merge tool I was able to make the layers made from an
object into one so I was easily able to move that layer freely without having to do each shape of the layer
individually.
6. IMPROVED PHOTO EDITING
Begin getting rid of the
background so it is
easier to edit.
Zoom in using CTRL and +
And use the eraser to get rid
of any white parts within the
picture so it looks more
professional.
Once you have done that
use the dodge tool to
brighten any part of your
image to give a glow (to
stand out more to
consumers).
