Good Health.
" 'Good health implies the achievement of a dynamic balance between individuals or groups and their environment. '" (Better Health Commission
1986, cited in Carey, D., Perraton, G.; Weston, K. 2000: 3). According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), 'health ' can be defined as the
absence of illnesses and a state of mental and social well–being (Carey et al. 2000:3). In other words, in order to maintain optimal health, it is
imperative to have a well–balanced lifestyle which would include a nutritious diet as well as mental and social well–being. This essay shows that food
is one of the many important factors amongst others when striving to maintain good health. This will be demonstrated by examining the three main

cited in King Murdoch 2005: 24). As a result of their late retirements and continuous physical activities, the Okinawans seem to enjoy high rates of
longevity and good health as compared to the populations of other countries (Mc Devitt 1999: 59). A further critical element characteristic of a healthy
lifestyle is to refrain from smoking and limiting alcohol intake to a minimum to enhance physical well–being (Melton 2001: 32). Hence, it is evident
that staying healthy means keeping active. Various simple activities such as dancing, gardening, or brisk walking help to burn kilojoules whilst at the
same time providing enjoyment. Such activities can easily be done by everyone to keep healthy.
Finally, social development also plays a fundamental role in promoting and maintaining good health. Perry (1997: 26) notes that the elderly that live
with their children and grandchildren gain several positive impacts on their social and mental well–being. These benefits include emotional and
physical support from their children along with a close–knit social network, both of which are significant to maintaining good social condition as
evidenced by World Health Organisation 's definition of 'health '. Conversely, the elderly are able to give emotional support to

Does Wealth Contribute To Good Health
The OECD consists of the worlds wealthiest nation and so the article attempts to compare the United States to the other member countries in the
OECD, but does wealth necessarily contribute to good health? The purpose of the argument was to compare and then analyze on an individual level
and in order to do so, especially in regard to wealthy countries, wealth does in fact contribute to the health of a nation due to access to advance medicine
, technology, information, and insurance being available to its citizens. According to the article America has the most diabetic population, diabetes or
more specifically Type 2 diabetes is almost a direct result of one's diet. Poor diet and lack of exercise due to social norms and infrastructure puts
America behind. Our diets in comparison to say Japan fall flat when it compares ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Teen pregnancy is a huge problem in the United States and it mostly as to due with the lack of sex education. In other countries sex education is not
shyed away from and children have open discussions with their parents about the ins and out of sex, pregnancy, transmitted diseases and infections and
even love. The country proclaims to be free and self–righteous yet many people hold on to conservative outlooks when it comes to having these
important conversations with their children. Teen pregnancy is inevitable, especially with hormones kicking in and children having little to no
knowledge of how to navigate them will always result in teen pregnancy. However there could be a dramatic fall in the rates if as a nation we decide
to educate the children about the topic. Because whether America likes it or not the children of today will be the future doctors and caretakers, so
caring for them now will be much more beneficial in the long

Too Much Sugar: Good Or Bad For Your Health?
Much debate has occurred regarding whether sugar is good or bad for your health. Whilst some sugar is important for the body's functions, too much
sugar can cause major problems. Tooth decay for example, is an issue that mainly affects children and young adolescents, however can cause
prolonged effects such as gum disease or tooth sensitivity. Diseases associated with the high consumption of sugar, such as diabetes and obesity, can
result in drastic lifestyle changes if not addressed. Addiction is also an issue that can lead to health problems later in life. These health risks need to be
addressed as early as possible in order for long–term health problems to be avoided.

These chemicals are also produced when amphetamines are consumed and Null (2014) suggests that sugar may have the potential to become
addictive. In a study conducted by Colantuoni (2002), it was found that dependence on sugar was caused by excessive sugar intake. Stages of
bingeing, withdrawal and craving were observed which were similar to addictive drug experiences. Hoebel, Rada & Avena (2007) also had similar
findings in their sugar addiction study, concluding that sugar does have addictive properties and can be compared to addictive drugs. It is evident that
the consumption of sugar should therefore be limited to avoid possible addiction and to reduce the effects of receptor–blocking in the

Health is of special value to individuals and communities...
Health is of special value to individuals and communities at large. Good health is of great importance and is necessary for human well–being. Health
not only provides intrinsic value in the form of comfort and physical integrity, its importance extends far greater than that and lies in its ability to allow
individuals to exercise both civil (e.g. education and family life) as well as economic (e.g. employment) human rights. Without a decent level of health,
it is very difficult to ensure economic prosperity and political participation (WHO 2008).
The right to health is a fundamental part of human rights and of our understanding of a life of dignity. The right to health however is not absolute and
has been variously defined over time. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The children within the community suffer from a plethora of highly preventable conditions not often seen in developed countries. Unfortunately, these
conditions are often left untreated due to a lack of access to appropriate healthcare. The effect of nutritional deficiencies on their health is compounded
by their poor living condition and consequently, fatigue, failure to thrive, chronic diarrhoea, skin and respiratory tract infections contribute to high rates
of mortality and morbidity within the community.
The prevalence of these highly preventable medical conditions can be attributed to a problem of access. There are only two nurses available to service
the entire community of thousands and consequently, patients cannot always be appropriately examined due to time constraints. Secondly, even if
conditions are appropriately evaluated, there may be a lack of access to appropriate drugs, dressings and specialists to implement the ideal treatment
plan. Furthermore, there is a lack of access to health education within the community itself and therefore reduced understanding of the basic hygiene
and lifestyle practises that can prevent or minimise illness.
Social injustice occurs when there is an inequality that develops among a population of people (Farmer, Nizeye et al. 2006). This includes health
inequalities. Within the Pipeline community, there are numerous contributors to their health disadvantage including poverty, substandard housing, poor

Describe The Role That Balanced Diet And Vitamins Play In...
Most articles on health and fitness stress the role that balanced diet and vitamins play in maintaining good health. There's a great deal of emphasis on
vitamins and minerals and we hear about the amazing properties of vitamins all the time. But what about minerals? We do not hear enough on how
important it is to get enough minerals to maintain our health.
Minerals are essential to maintaining good health. They help our body absorb and use vitamins and act as catalysts for a number of chemical
processes. Our bodies can manufacture a number of vitamins but minerals cannot be made in by our cells. We must obtain all the minerals we need
from our diet or through supplementation.
Some minerals are used by our body in large amounts to form various structures like bones or teeth. Minerals like this are known as bulk minerals.
Calcium is one of the better known bulk minerals. Another category of minerals are trace minerals. Trace minerals are used within the body in very
small quantities. However, they are still just as important to good health as bulk minerals. Unfortunately, science didn't recognize the usefulness of
trace minerals for many, many years. In fact, it was even thought that not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, there are many, many factors that affect the ease with which minerals are absorbed into the bloodstream through our digestive tract. As we
age, it becomes harder for our digestive system to absorb minerals and our cells have a harder time utilizing them. By taking mineral supplements
that are already in an easily absorbed form, we can make it simpler to get enough of all our minerals. Water soluble minerals are the easiest way for
the body to absorb and utilize a mineral supplement. Liquid mineral supplements are superior to other supplements for being absorbed and utilized in
our body. Take control of your health today by making sure you are getting the optimum amount of all the minerals your body

Explain The Barriers To Maintaining A Good Health
The barriers that stand in the way of maintaining a good health vary from one country to another. Moreover, within the same country these barriers vary
depending on the socio–economic status of the individual. For individuals living in Canada, the main barrier to maintaining a good health is poverty.
Those mostly affect by poverty are the youth, homeless, new immigrant and the Aboriginal communities. Even though poverty does not cause diseases
directly, it is a significant issue because people living in poverty are lacking the resources to mitigate diseases. Poverty affects the ability to maintain a
good health indirectly through its effect on an individual's access to adequate healthcare, appropriate housing and nutritious food.

Summary: Structural Determinants Of Good Health
National health policy is a complex and interdependent issue regarding a multitude of components including structural determinants of good health,
lifestyle determinants, and socializing and empowering determinants. Structural determinants of good health can be considered key parts of our society
regarding economic, political, and social areas that our culture has established (Estes, Chapman, Dodd, Hollister, Harrington, 2013). Our country has
major inequalities regarding socioeconomic status and health care access, this in turn contributes to a disparity among our population and further
promotes inequalities. Higher social classes have better access to health care as compared to people of lower socioeconomic status, thus further dividing

our scope of proactive and our voices that can be heard as an individuals but also as a collaborative voice in legislations by being in empowered
professional groups such as the ANA. Promoting better health care polices benefits our society with better health outcomes as well as better
financial futures since a healthier society wastes less money and resources when compared to one that does not promote health initiatives. One way
to ensure that we as nurses are up to date on current policy and legislation issues is to join a professional group such as the ANA. Advocacy for
health care policy requires knowledge and efforts of such large groups and active lobbyists that professional organizations can offer its members
(Abood, 2007). Being well informed by a reputable and trust worthy group not only keeps one up to date on all current healthcare issues, but also
gives access to resources to actively engage in proposed solutions so that nurses may better advocate for the patients and populations who are so

What Are Good Health?
What Impacts "good health?" Well, there are numerous factors that influence good health. People have a one–of–a–kind desire and capacity related to
the existing level in their lives. One of the greatest differences in the United States is that some locations are healthy, and others are not. There is very
little discussion about these disparities by policy makers or the public at large. Health care professionals must tackle these problems and barriers that
make health care provision a fortifying part of U.S. government and economics (Knickman & Kovner, 2016, p.6). Similarly, the ethical standards of
health care professionals are to advocate for the residents in their community and to develop initiatives that monitor benchmarks and practices to
improve their lives. The initial step towards making progress in this regard is to identify the community's needs and assets. We want to capture what
improves conditions as well as what prevents progress in the direction of boosting our neighborhood. By identifying the community's determinants,
allows us to find gaps that will help decide where to focus our efforts. The health elements are classified into four factor areas or health care
determinants: health behaviors, medical care, society and financial factors, and the physical environment. Employment provides income and benefits
that can support a healthy way of life. Unemployment and inadequate employment restrict those choices and negatively have an effect both qualities of

Good Samaritan Health Center Of Cobb Essay
Description of the Organization
Good Samaritan Health Center of Cobb was founded in 2006 as a 501(c)3 organization with the goal of providing quality affordable healthcare to
people in need (Good Samaritan Health Center of Cobb, 2016). Its founders, Reverend Grant Cole, the former pastor of Connection Point Church, and
Dr. Jack Kennedy, Director of Cobb & Douglas Public CountyHealth, started Good Samaritan Health Center of Cobb after seeing the need in their
community and realizing that medical bills and poor health are a contributing factor to poverty in the U.S (Good Samaritan Health Center of
Cobb, 2016). Reverend Cole and Dr. Kennedy modeled Good Samaritan Health Center of Cobb after the Good Samaritan Health Center in Atlanta
so the two organizations are very similar in mission, vision, and operations, but serve different populations based on their locations (Tapper, 2016).
The official mission of Good Samaritan Cobb, as stated on their website, is, "to spread the love of Christ by providing quality healthcare to those in
need." Its vision per the website is to be, "obedient to God 's commandments directing us to love and serve Him, to love and serve our neighbor, and
to spread the Gospel, the health center will be a Christian ministry that exists to provide quality primary care medical and dental services to the
working poor of our community. This will be done at an affordable cost, providing these families with a medical "home" upon which they can depend.

Social Determinants Of Good Health
The neighbourhood or environment in which someone lives can influence the physical, economic and psychosocial health outcomes of people living in
the area. Social determinants of health as defined by the World Health Organization (2008) are "the social conditions in which people are born, live
and work [and] are the single most important determinant[s] of good health". This essay will explore the roles of education, employment and health
literacy as social determinants; how they contribute to health inequalities in areas of low socioeconomic status. Often these determinants act as a part
of a larger structure of multilevel determinants which can have a major impact on the wellbeing of individual and families residing in these areas.

People with lower social status are often subject to more occupational hazards in employment. These hazards can include exposure to toxic compounds,
manual–handling risks and noise overexposure (WHO 2010, p. 22). These all contribute to the healthcare divide between the classes. Secondly, the
increasing casualization of the workforce puts people into positions of precarious employment; this means jobs that are insecure, not protected by
unions and have a salary that is not always able to support a household. A situation like precarious employment has many implications on the health of a
demographic. A study by Moscone, Tosetti and Vittadini (2016, pp. 92
–93) shows the development of a trend in the use prescription psychotropic drugs
to treat mental health disorders in Italian workers on a temporary, non–full time contract. The study also correlates the achievement of a bachelor
degree or better with lower instances of mental illness that requires psychotropic drugs to treat. The use of prescription drugs to treat mental illness can
cause side effects, which impacts physical health. An impaired sexual function is a common side effect of psychotropic medications. Thirdly,
long–term unemployment is a contributing risk factor to mortality from drug–related incidents. People who were dependant on a disability pension had
the greatest risk of dying from

Patient Safety And Good Health Outcomes
Patient safety and good health outcomes are the main focuses of today's complex health care system (Hendricks, Cope & Harris 2010, p. 252).
However, short hospital stays, complexity of patient care, high nurse patient ratio and high pressure work surroundings have contributed to decreased
patient satisfaction and safety. As a result health care professional are required to pay more attention to these issues. Nurses are considered
competent, valued and necessary for improvements in patient quality care as they work 24 hours and 7 days a week (Vaismoradi et al. 2014, p. 107).

This essay will critically explore the leadership role of a registered nurse in delivering quality and safe patient care.
According to Dr. Lucy Cuddihy (Traits of Nursing Leadership 2015) nursing leadership includes understanding your role as a nurse for the sake of
patients. While working in the hospitals, nurses are always on display and usually become role models through the way they present themselves, how
they react on situations and how they communicate to perform effectively in a multidisciplinary team. Hence, the simple tasks that nurses perform in
hospitals express their leadership traits which can influence patients and colleagues directly or indirectly.
Many leadership roles have been come up in nursing with unfolding leadership responsibilities which explain that good quality care is the priority of
nursing workforce and bringing up issues related to the patient safety in attention to the management is also a key component of these
responsibilities. Experienced leaders play a pertinent role in mentioning the main agenda in the boardrooms. However, myriad challenges can be
faced by nurses while ensuring quality care and improvements in patient care (Stuart & Kean 2012).In a study performed by Gallagher and Tschudin
(2010) explains that nurses not always able to act positively as role models or challenge poor practices. He also stated that examples from past have

Economics of Obesity: Health as a Luxury Good
Q1. Economics of obesity: Health as a luxury good There has been a great deal of public hand–wringing over the obesity epidemic in the United
Kingdom and elsewhere. However, obesity does not affect all groups equally. Demographically, the poor are far more likely to be obese. The face of
a poor person today is unlikely to be that of a person suffering from malnutrition or under–nutrition, but rather an obese person suffering from eating an
abundance of calories derived from low–nutrient sources. According to the WorldHealth Organization, while "issues of nutrition had previously been
almost exclusively concerned with such matters as breast–feeding, protein energy malnutrition, and micronutrient deficiencies" poverty and obesity are
strongly correlated worldwide, not simply in the developed world (James 2001).
People who are poorer are, in general, less able to have access to fresh, healthy vegetables and low–fat meats, causing them to rely upon cheaper,
sugary carbohydrates as their main source of nutrition. They have less access to places where it is safe to exercise, and less leisure time in which to
engage in healthy, active pursuits. A recent national study in the US confirmed that "body mass index (or BMI, an indicator of excess body fat) was
higher every year between 1986 and 2002 among adults in the lowest income group and the lowest education group than among those in the highest
income and education groups, respectively" and "wages were inversely related to BMI

Good Digestion Is The Foundation Of Good Health
Good digestion is the foundation of good health; for instance, one could theoretically eat a perfect diet and take a multivitamin, but if these nutrients
aren't optimally absorbed all that's left is wasted time. The stomach isn't just one giant food processor and storage system, when you really think about
it, the stomach is also the barrier between the outside world and your internal physiology.
Digestive disorders, treatments, causes, etc. is an expansive topic. For the sake of time, I am going to focus primarily on treating an increasingly
common condition called "leaky gut syndrome", as it can lead to many serious complications down the road. The strategies you'll use to help fight
this, will also serve to increase your body's digestive capacity. Simply put, we need to remove this roadblock to ensure optimal digestion and absorption
of nutrients. Leaky gut syndrome is a condition where damaged bowel lining leads to increased permeability of the gut wall to substances that
shouldn't be going into your blood or interstitial areas. Certain things like bad bacteria, and foreign invaders do not get blocked from being absorbed
through your intestinal membrane, and things that should get absorbed don't. I also want to emphasize that "leaky gut" is common in irritable bowel
diseases such as celiac disease, crohn's disease, allergies, and many other things. This is why I want to focus so much on this aspect.
So what are the symptoms? Diarrhea, chronic joint pain, chronic

A State Of Good Mental Health Essay
В¬ LRADAC By Rosanna Hutto SN/MTC Midlands Technical College NUR 162 A04 Position Paper Being in a state of good mental health is
more than simply the absence of a mental disorder, such as depression, mania, dissociative identity disorder, or anxiety. To be mentally healthy is to
have a state of mind in which one is able to cope with the stresses of daily life, is able to be work and be productive, and realize his or her
capabilities and potential. Simply put, mental health acts as the basis for an individual's effective functioning and sense of well–being. The World
Health Organization defines physical and mental health as: "A state of complex physical, mental, and social well–being, and not merely the absence of
disease." Despite cultural differences, many societies know the importance of good mental health. However, many still search for ways to promote
mental health, which raises the question of, how can mental health be achieved? The treatment and prevention of mental illness can be difficult, and as
with physical illness, no case or result is the same for everyone. Treatment varies for each illness, as well as for individual client needs and level of
severity. With the numerous choices of treatment available today, people around the world have a greater chance at not only preventing or decreasing
mental illness, but also the opportunity to enhance their mental health through the public health model of primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention.

Socio Economic Factors And Good Health
The coherence between socio–economic factors and good health has been observed over a few decades and, that the socio –economic factors have a
massive impact on the health of the individual are not new. Today, the Government UK provides a range of health campaigns, to alert the public to live
healthier. Health promotions in schools, children centre, and community centre or in the hospital taking place. Such for example," the fit for life
campaign, "where the main focus is to eat healthy food. However, there are still barriers which have an influence on the behaviour of the individual, to
take part by health promotions. Therefore, it is important to have a look what is the background of the individual, to understand their behaviour.
1.1One impact of socio –economic influences on the health, can be the cultural tradition. For example, in some cultures is overweight, seeing as
something positive as this shows the social status in their society. Skinny people would be associated with poorness, therefore is "feeding" a common
practice by some cultures, regardless other health consequences. This behaviour is completely the opposite what health campaigns associating with
overweight in the UK. Here is to think about how can those people getting persuade to change their attitude, as overweight is associated with their
social status and cultural tradition.

It's possible to pay an amount to bribes to get at the head of the line when it comes to health care when you are rich. This isn't fair to the people who

There are a lot of investigations on predictors of longevity, and only some of these studies have involved indicators of happiness. Because happiness
is usually a side problem in such studies, it is hard to trace the results bibliographically. Most of the references of this study were found in the
Bibliography of the World Database of happiness (WDH 2006) and in a current monograph on the consequences of subjective wellbeing by
Lyubomirsky, Diener, and King (2005). (R. Veenhoven. 2008. 2) Totally, they found 30 studies, which gave a rather mixed result. The studies were all
completed among different kind of populations and used diverse methodologies. A main methodological difference was found in the control variables.
Some of the studies did not measure baseline physical health. Therefore, it could not rule out the possibility that greater longevity of the primarily most
happy is due to their better initial physical health. Most studies did control baseline physical health, but it evaluated this in different ways, some using
self–reports and others medical screening. Another remarkable variance was in the statistics used for quantifying the effect of happiness on longevity.
Some studies expressed the difference in a deterioration coefficient and others in Odds Ratio's of different kinds. On the basis of the

residents. Ages for the Queensway ward range from 0–90, for breakdown in age structure (See Figure 3).
3Capturing Neighbourhood Information
3.1Methodology
To determine which deprivation domains would be examined within this report on the chosen ward of Queensway, a search of the WIMD website was
concluded. On reviewing the WIMD the findings ranked the deprived domains out of 85 other Lower Super Output Areas (LSOA) of the Wrexham
Local Authority. The domains included income, employment, health, and education, access to services, community safety, physical environment and
housing.
The statistical data was then required to support the information of the domains selected; which were employment and education. Statistical data from
the Office for National statistics (ONS) website was extracted via excel and manually converted into graphs to provide a simpler analysis of the
findings.
An electronic search was conducted via the

Determinants Of Good Health
Most people would agree that being in good health is one of the most important factors to having a quality life. But what defines good health? The
Dictionary definition of health is "a state of complete physical and mental well being." However, what are the determinants that influence one's health
and do people have the ability to control them? Quite often, individuals wish to improve their health and lower their risks for disease but are unaware
where to start. Perhaps a good place to begin is to consider the wide range of factors that can determine how healthy an individual is such as individual
factors, physical environment, and the socioeconomic factors. While some of these factors are not within one's control, others who having an overall

Is Sugar Good Or Bad For Your Health Essay
Sugar has had an enormous debate on whether it is good or bad for your health. Although sugar can be unhealthy, it has been researched that natural
sugars are needed for a person's diet and overall function for their body. Sugar is an essential that humans need for their body and mental process. Its
been told that, "...ditching sugar can destroy metabolism and lead to a weakened immune system, poor digestion, impaired sexual/reproductive function,
and accelerated aging."(Robin Konie). In order for the body to work properly, it needs natural sugars in it. Sugar in the form of glucose is indeed the
most efficient fuel source our body uses. Without sugar, our bodies will be tired and slower without energy. If there was no sugar, our bodies

What Makes A Good Health?
Healthy lifestyles are becoming more popular to society; and as a result, there is an influx of seemingly limitless options arising to cure whatever ails
you. Today, grocery shopping means being bombarded with bright, obnoxious labels claiming its superiority with elements such as "gluten–free," or
"100% natural," (wait, doesn 't that mean organic?). Consumers unequivocally reach for the products that have labels such as "sugar–free," or
"fat–free." Consequently, the clever, misrepresented marketing goes unquestioned by consumers. The quest of goodhealth has been around for
centuries, and many of society 's "health conscious" consumers are easily persuaded by the power of suggestion.
Why is it that there are never any declarations of how many dangerous chemical substitutes added to achieve the "same great taste?" Many consumers
do not know that sugar–free products should have a label that reads "may cause cancer," next to it. Aspartame is the most common artificial sweetener
used to replace sugar, and that chemical is known to cause cancer. What makes an "all–natural" product different from an organic one, and what about
gluten–free? Do the majorities of our population really even know what gluten is? To what extent does someone have to go to make sure they aren 't
consuming something that isn 't either genetically or chemically modified, or double the price because these hot words are written across them?
The truth behind our psychological makeup is that we are prone

Why Is Fibre The Key To Good Health
Dietry Fibre is what many people would argue the key to good health. For millions of years fibre has been part of human diet with fibre being
prevalent in many plant based foods. In todays generation low fibre diets have been becoming more common with negative health results coming with
such diets which has lead to many experts asking the question 'Is fibre the key to good health?'. Fibre is often seen as an essential vitamin with a
majority of people getting enough of it through fruits and vegetables but for those who don't eat such foods then their health may suffer as a result.
Biological Relevance:

When it comes to dietary fibre there are two types, soluble and insoluble. Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) defines Dietary Fibre ...

Although there is no doubt that dietary fibre boosts stool size and also its frequency, the role of dietary fibre to treat chronic constipation is commonly
known to be somewhat exaggerated among many healthcare professionals. A low fibre diet has been proven before not to be the pure cause of
constipation. As well as this the success rate of a high fibre diet intake as treatment to constipation is not high either. Studies undertaken and conducted
by WA Voderholzer, a leading doctor, have showed that only 20% of patients with slow digestive rates actually benefited from increased amounts of
fibre in their diets. In studies there is statistics and date found that suggests that even though numerous ill patients may have been helped by a high fibre
diet, there are some patients that actually suffered even worse from their original symptoms when their dietary fibre intake was increased through their

Universal Health Care : A Good Thing At Face Value
Universal healthcare seems like a good thing at face value . Liberal politicians can quote statistics all day, but these can be misleading. One way to
find the truth is to examine the diseases instead of the statistics. One must also evaluate the ease of access to medical treatment. You can evaluate the
amount of finances socialized countries spend on insurance programs. There is also a biblical argument involved. If you really look at the full picture,
universal health care will negatively impact the lives of the citizens of the United States of America. Taken at face value, worldwide statistics show that
the United States spends more than double the amount per person on health care as the median developed nation. These ... Show more content on

Britain has one fourth as many cat scans as the United States. America is more efficient at discovering ways to stop different types of cancer from
progressing. John C. Goodman has done research studies that show 63% of women in the United States survive malignancies without universal
healthcare. Only 60% of women in Europe with Universal Health Care survive malignancies within a five year period. Also, 68% of men in the United
States survive malignancies with socialized medicine, but in Europe 47%. Furthermore, John C. Goodman says, "kidney treatments are five times
more likely to occur in America between the ages of 45 and 84." It is nine times more effective for patients older than 85 years or older (Goodman).
When Americans visit other countries like Britain with the National Health Service or "NHS" they do not get all the help they need to obtain a
decent price range, so they are required to pay the full amount. A woman in the United Kingdom that was a full born United States citizen, said she
went into labor and could not afford to pay for her hospital bills. This became a massive ordeal until the situation was finally secured, and the woman
and her baby reached their goal of returning back home to the United States (Gawande).
The argument against Universal Health Care, also involves some parts of religion. The Bible sees creativity and productivity as essential qualities of
human beings. These are people that are made in God's image. It is immoral to create a

Is It More Valuable Than Good Health?
There is nothing more valuable than good health. Most people would agree that one of the biggest aspects in their lives is trying to manage and
improve their well–being. An interesting aspect of health is that everyone has a different view of what it is, whilst sharing a recurrent theme. A
common misconception about health is that its main focus deals with illnesses. Personally, I believe the term health refers to living a happy lifestyle
physically and emotionally. In addition, I think health is impacted by our surroundings such as our peers and the environment that we live in. I take
my health very seriously, as it plays an important part in my daily life. As far as I am concerned, without my health I would not be able to do simple...

I experience this by many different physical activities such as my passion for weightlifting. I go to the gym five to six days a week, working on
different body parts throughout the week. In my opinion, I feel lifting weights not only helps physically, but mentally as well. In the gym, I am
always pushing myself to do more in weight and repetitions. It is also mentally taxing because some days I will have muscle soreness, and I have
to motivate myself to go workout. Prior to when I got into weightlifting, I always felt sluggish and out of shape which was embarrassing. In
addition, I also work on my cardiovascular health by participating in recreational activities like basketball and hockey. Similarly to weight lifting,
they are just as mentally exhausting. Recently, I have noticed that none of my friends are able to keep up with the pace that I can execute in sports,
owning to the fact that I am always trying to improve my strength and cardio. Undoubtably, I cannot discount a healthy diet. A healthy diet plays a
massive role in my physical health. Without eating healthy, I wouldn't be able to perform to the best of my abilities in the gym, playing sports or in

instead of one person doing it. Also when you use team work you have a better chance of getting your assignments right the first time. This is also
where communication plays a part in teamwork. You have to be able to communicate with your group and express your opinions and ideas
effectively. When playing a team sport you are forced to communicate among your team mates. Communication will help you in today's world
because when you play a team sport it boots your confidence to talk to people. It helps you to speak clearly and be able to make eye contact when

Mental Health In The Good Doctor
Mental health is not a disability. It should never stop a person from growing and doing what he/she wants, and we must break the stigma that the
people diagnosed with mental illnesses are not capable of doing what the others can do, specifically, being able to work. This is what the series
entitled "The Good Doctor" is all about, with its first episode revolving around the issue regarding the people with mental illnesses are initially treated
when it comes to the workplaces. Aside from giving us a brief background about the protagonist in the series, the first episode shows to us the realities
of these individuals perform in the workplace, their capabilities of doing so, and most importantly, how they are treated.

But some may still ask themselves, "Up to what extent are they able to do work?" The thought of a person diagnosed with mental illness just like Shaun

Good Mental Health Or Good Grades?
Good Mental Health or Good Grades? Eighty percent of high school students have a part time job. High school students are encouraged to be active in
all sorts of things, such as sports, work, social life, and also have schoolwork. This is why most high school students struggle finding balance.
Overwhelmed high school students have trouble balancing it all, but there are many methods to help solve this though, such as a schedule, asking
someone with experience, or even finding tips that best fit you. High school students use extracurricular activities and social time as a way to deal
with their stress of homework and working. However sometimes these activities only add to their stress. High school students have a very busy life
and sometimes don't know how to make time for it all. Some see social life more important than homework or work. Sometimes this can lead to bad
results such as dropping out, failing a class or falling behind. In order for students to have good mental health, free time is crucial. So lets calculate
how a typical high school student spends 24 hours. Lets say this student is in college classes, is in a relationship, works part time and has family things
to accomplish as well. This student wakes up at 6:00 a.m. and gets ready for school and leaves at 6:20 a.m. When she arrives at school she goes to
her anatomy and physiology lab practicum until 8:15. At 8:15 p.m. she goes to her first block class until 9:45 p.m. after that she goes from one class to

What Does The Structure Of A Good Health?
Introduction "You may not appreciate the presence of good health, but you will definitely regret the absence of good health, because health is
happiness." These words, said by author Amit Kalantri are words recognizing the need for acknowledgment when it comes to the health of everyone.
There are a majority of people in the United States who cannot afford healthcare because of its Out–of–Pocket system. Healthcare is the maintenance
and improvement of physical and mental health. It is needed by everyone, whether they are ill or not. Many of those people who can afford it are
stuck in their own little worlds and do not bother stopping to "smell the roses" so to speak. They have everything they could possibly want and feel
that they are inconveniencing themselves by stopping for a mere second to appreciate the blessing bestowed upon them. The United States has an
Out–of–Pocket healthcare program that has millions of citizens uninsured. The main issue to be discussed could be better worded in this question:
"To what extent does the structure of the American healthcare system compare with that of the European healthcare system and how does each
system affect a person's quality of life?" Even though the U.S. has one of the best medical systems in the world, it is better to have a system based on
the structure of that of Europe because treatment is not based on income and everyone can receive healthcare and it generally costs less to live in a
place with this system. Healthcare

Animal Products Are Not Necessary For Good Health
"You put a baby in a crib with an apple and a rabbit. If it eats the rabbit and plays with the apple, I will buy you a new car", said Harvey Diamond in
his book "Fit for Life." By nature, humans are not omnivores but society has the population blinded into believing animal products are a necessity to a
healthy diet. Animals–other living things are dosed with hormones and seen as byproducts, their rights being ignored and denied. Cutting meat and other
animal products out of the "normal" lifestyle would benefit humans just as well as animals ("Vegan Diets: Healthy and Humane"). Animal products are
not necessary for good health, and removing them would have a positive effect on human health all around. No longer supporting the dairy and ... Show

The global appetite for meat is growing and there is not enough land to keep up with it. Meat production takes too much out of the environment.
The earth's resources are not limitless and the ignorance of us as a species is continuing to grow("How does..."). Technology will not save us from
ourselves. The land is being used to raise livestock instead of crops and valuable resources are being wasted thus having a devastating effect on
the world. Raising animals to be slaughtered is using up more than half of the water in America. While it takes 2,500 gallons of water to produce a
pound of beef it only takes 25 gallons to produce a pound of wheat("How does..."). According to PETA, the average pig factory creates the same
amount of waste as a city with about 12,000 people in it(Bittman, Mark). Currently raising animals for food is the number one source of water
pollution. Irreversible damage is being done to the only planet there is for human life yet no one seems to care. "The world's cattle alone consume a
quantity of food equal to the caloric needs of 10.7 billion people–more than the entire human population." Gradually reducing the consumption of meat
throughout the population would have a positive impact on the rest of the world("How does..."). People would not have to starve and animals would
not have to die. Most of society believes that

The Health Care Field : An Occupation Of Disease...
My passion and admiration for the health care field began during my teenage years, when I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis: a chronic,
autoimmune disease affecting various joints throughout my body. As I went through years of treatment, my physician and other medical professionals
were profoundly helpful, and motivational in keeping a positive attitude. Their care was the impetus for my future goals, as I saw the genuine goodness
that they felt from helping others. As a result of all the medical help and emotional support that I received from these medical providers throughout my
youth, I have chosen to pursue a career in the service of others through the public health field–an occupation of disease prevention and promotion of
good health practices. My occupational goal is to be a health care system policy analyst at the federal level while being employed by the Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention.
Every person should have access to affordable and high–quality health care services. My aspiration is to be involved in the recommendation and
implementation of future health care policy changes pertaining to preventive medicine that will improve the overall quality and affordability of care
(used twice in the same sentence) for all individuals. Through public health, positive changes in the individual can lead to constructive, health–related
lifestyle modifications in the community and then society as a whole.
An additional passion of mine is to find innovative

Is Buddhism Good For Your Health?
Actually, the quote from the article "Is Buddhism Good for Your Health" seem to be charming. The quote states that "Most self
–respecting
neuroscientists would shrink from, if not flee, an invitation to study Buddhist meditation, viewing the topic as impossibly fuzzy and, as Davidson
recently conceded, very flaky". In fact, most neuroscientists could find it awkward to study or research the meditative prowess or practices and its
impact upon the mind. This is for some researchers or neuroscientists could think of venturing into the study of the consciousness. Certainly, the study
of consciousness is trivial for researchers. The study of meditation can offer some insights about the behavior of some neurological structures of the
brain with the help of the advancing technological equipments of the modern era. Thus, the meditative practices of the Buddhist religious tradition can
be studied scientifically. Meanwhile, one can attest of the relationship between neuroscience and the impacts of Buddhist meditation practice. ... Show

Comparing The Oriental View Of Good Health
Therefore, the oriental view of good health is when there is a balance between the yin and the yang. The yin is cold, dark and interior while the yang
is warm, light and exterior. Despite the fact that they are complete opposites, the Orientals view them as one. " They create each other, define each
other, control each other and transform into each other." Health includes one's physical, spiritual and emotional roles. When the yin and yang are in
equilibrium, a person is in good health and all systems are functioning normally. However, when they are not in equilibrium, signs and symptoms of
illness occur. Oriental medicine says that every illness or discomfort of the body can be interpreted in terms of something not agreeing with chi or the ...

Acupressure allows the blood to circulate freely, allowing toxins to be emitted or removed, and allowing the nerves to rest. Emotions are stabilized
through acupressure by venting the related tension caused by suppressed feelings. Acupressure also has amazing soothing effects on the body.
Acupressure also helps upgrade muscle strength, and tone and helps sports injuries by increasing circulation as well as lowering pain. A safe
alternative to problems associated with stress such as headaches, ulcers, cramps and insomnia is acupressure therapy. Acupressure techniques are
meant to correct imbalances in all systems of the body, by regulating these systems. Acupressure is different from acupuncture in that it is performed
without needles. The practitioner uses his or her thumbs, hands, knees or elbows where needed. Glands become stimulated once pressure is applied
in that region. Their are fourteen invisible meridians in the human body that carry energy throughout the body. These meridians begin at the
fingertips, and are attached to the brain and the related meridian organ. A barrier in the meridian causes the energy to flow slower, which in effect
causes something to go wrong in the organ which is related to that meridian. Through acupressure the energy can flow with regularity and the organ
can continue its usual function. Acupressure simply reduces pain by stimulating the release of endorphins, which are the body's pain relievers.
Acupressure also raises the nutrient supply to muscles by advancing cellular exchange. At the same time, development of damaging fatigue products,
metabolic wastes and lactic acid from extreme excercise are deterred. The most significant idea of acupressure is pulse reading. A pulse is a point in
the arm where you can feel to find the flow of energy in a meridian. Pulses may also be imaginary. There are nine pulses in the lower arm area that
attaches to the wrist. There are two

cardiovascular fitness is not where I thought it would be. I have never had a very good heart rate while exercising, but my resting heart rate has gotten
worse. This is one of the areas I want to work on. I believe that my resting heart rate has gotten this way because I no longer play tennis every day
and I have a desk job so I am much more sedative than in years past. I have also gained some weight that is making it more of a task for my heart to
pump blood. I have known since tennis ended that my musculoskeletal fitness would go down some because I had injured my knee during the knee
and decided to take a few months off. Since I wasn 't working out I started losing my strength and muscle tones "if you don 't use it, you lose it." I used
to be able to do 150 push ups in a row and bench a lot more than I can now, I forgot how much it was. Because I was stronger, I could also do more. My
muscles could do more and I miss that, I miss not being tired all the time. Because I was more active a year ago, my muscles were always looser. I used

  • 1. Good Health. " 'Good health implies the achievement of a dynamic balance between individuals or groups and their environment. '" (Better Health Commission 1986, cited in Carey, D., Perraton, G.; Weston, K. 2000: 3). According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), 'health ' can be defined as the absence of illnesses and a state of mental and social well–being (Carey et al. 2000:3). In other words, in order to maintain optimal health, it is imperative to have a well–balanced lifestyle which would include a nutritious diet as well as mental and social well–being. This essay shows that food is one of the many important factors amongst others when striving to maintain good health. This will be demonstrated by examining the three main aspects affecting an ... As a result of their late retirements and continuous physical activities, the Okinawans seem to enjoy high rates of longevity and good health as compared to the populations of other countries (Mc Devitt 1999: 59). A further critical element characteristic of a healthy lifestyle is to refrain from smoking and limiting alcohol intake to a minimum to enhance physical well–being (Melton 2001: 32). Hence, it is evident that staying healthy means keeping active. Various simple activities such as dancing, gardening, or brisk walking help to burn kilojoules whilst at the same time providing enjoyment. Such activities can easily be done by everyone to keep healthy. Finally, social development also plays a fundamental role in promoting and maintaining good health. Perry (1997: 26) notes that the elderly that live with their children and grandchildren gain several positive impacts on their social and mental well–being. These benefits include emotional and physical support from their children along with a close–knit social network, both of which are significant to maintaining good social condition as evidenced by World Health Organisation 's definition of 'health '. • 2. Does Wealth Contribute To Good Health The OECD consists of the worlds wealthiest nation and so the article attempts to compare the United States to the other member countries in the OECD, but does wealth necessarily contribute to good health? The purpose of the argument was to compare and then analyze on an individual level and in order to do so, especially in regard to wealthy countries, wealth does in fact contribute to the health of a nation due to access to advance medicine , technology, information, and insurance being available to its citizens. According to the article America has the most diabetic population, diabetes or more specifically Type 2 diabetes is almost a direct result of one's diet. The country proclaims to be free and self–righteous yet many people hold on to conservative outlooks when it comes to having these important conversations with their children. Teen pregnancy is inevitable, especially with hormones kicking in and children having little to no knowledge of how to navigate them will always result in teen pregnancy. However there could be a dramatic fall in the rates if as a nation we decide to educate the children about the topic. • 3. Too Much Sugar: Good Or Bad For Your Health? Much debate has occurred regarding whether sugar is good or bad for your health. Whilst some sugar is important for the body's functions, too much sugar can cause major problems. Tooth decay for example, is an issue that mainly affects children and young adolescents, however can cause prolonged effects such as gum disease or tooth sensitivity. Diseases associated with the high consumption of sugar, such as diabetes and obesity, can result in drastic lifestyle changes if not addressed. Addiction is also an issue that can lead to health problems later in life. These health risks need to be addressed as early as possible in order for long–term health problems to be avoided. These chemicals are also produced when amphetamines are consumed and Null (2014) suggests that sugar may have the potential to become addictive. In a study conducted by Colantuoni (2002), it was found that dependence on sugar was caused by excessive sugar intake. Stages of bingeing, withdrawal and craving were observed which were similar to addictive drug experiences. Hoebel, Rada & Avena (2007) also had similar findings in their sugar addiction study, concluding that sugar does have addictive properties and can be compared to addictive drugs. It is evident that the consumption of sugar should therefore be limited to avoid possible addiction and to reduce the effects of receptor–blocking in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Health is of special value to individuals and communities... Health is of special value to individuals and communities at large. Good health is of great importance and is necessary for human well–being. Health not only provides intrinsic value in the form of comfort and physical integrity, its importance extends far greater than that and lies in its ability to allow individuals to exercise both civil (e.g. education and family life) as well as economic (e.g. employment) human rights. Without a decent level of health, it is very difficult to ensure economic prosperity and political participation (WHO 2008). The right to health is a fundamental part of human rights and of our understanding of a life of dignity. The right to health however is not absolute and has been variously defined over time. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The children within the community suffer from a plethora of highly preventable conditions not often seen in developed countries. Unfortunately, these conditions are often left untreated due to a lack of access to appropriate healthcare. The effect of nutritional deficiencies on their health is compounded by their poor living condition and consequently, fatigue, failure to thrive, chronic diarrhoea, skin and respiratory tract infections contribute to high rates of mortality and morbidity within the community. The prevalence of these highly preventable medical conditions can be attributed to a problem of access. There are only two nurses available to service the entire community of thousands and consequently, patients cannot always be appropriately examined due to time constraints. Secondly, even if conditions are appropriately evaluated, there may be a lack of access to appropriate drugs, dressings and specialists to implement the ideal treatment plan. Furthermore, there is a lack of access to health education within the community itself and therefore reduced understanding of the basic hygiene and lifestyle practises that can prevent or minimise illness. There's a great deal of emphasis on vitamins and minerals and we hear about the amazing properties of vitamins all the time. But what about minerals? We do not hear enough on how important it is to get enough minerals to maintain our health. Minerals are essential to maintaining good health. They help our body absorb and use vitamins and act as catalysts for a number of chemical processes. Our bodies can manufacture a number of vitamins but minerals cannot be made in by our cells. We must obtain all the minerals we need from our diet or through supplementation. Some minerals are used by our body in large amounts to form various structures like bones or teeth. Minerals like this are known as bulk minerals. Calcium is one of the better known bulk minerals. Another category of minerals are trace minerals. Trace minerals are used within the body in very small quantities. However, they are still just as important to good health as bulk minerals. Unfortunately, science didn't recognize the usefulness of trace minerals for many, many years. In fact, it was even thought that not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Water soluble minerals are the easiest way for the body to absorb and utilize a mineral supplement. Moreover, within the same country these barriers vary depending on the socio–economic status of the individual. For individuals living in Canada, the main barrier to maintaining a good health is poverty. Those mostly affect by poverty are the youth, homeless, new immigrant and the Aboriginal communities. Even though poverty does not cause diseases directly, it is a significant issue because people living in poverty are lacking the resources to mitigate diseases. • 8. Summary: Structural Determinants Of Good Health National health policy is a complex and interdependent issue regarding a multitude of components including structural determinants of good health, lifestyle determinants, and socializing and empowering determinants. Structural determinants of good health can be considered key parts of our society regarding economic, political, and social areas that our culture has established (Estes, Chapman, Dodd, Hollister, Harrington, 2013). Our country has major inequalities regarding socioeconomic status and health care access, this in turn contributes to a disparity among our population and further promotes inequalities. • 9. What Are Good Health? What Impacts "good health?" Well, there are numerous factors that influence good health. People have a one–of–a–kind desire and capacity related to the existing level in their lives. One of the greatest differences in the United States is that some locations are healthy, and others are not. There is very little discussion about these disparities by policy makers or the public at large. Health care professionals must tackle these problems and barriers that make health care provision a fortifying part of U.S. government and economics (Knickman & Kovner, 2016, p.6). Similarly, the ethical standards of health care professionals are to advocate for the residents in their community and to develop initiatives that monitor benchmarks and practices to improve their lives. The initial step towards making progress in this regard is to identify the community's needs and assets. We want to capture what improves conditions as well as what prevents progress in the direction of boosting our neighborhood. By identifying the community's determinants, allows us to find gaps that will help decide where to focus our efforts. The health elements are classified into four factor areas or health care determinants: health behaviors, medical care, society and financial factors, and the physical environment. Employment provides income and benefits that can support a healthy way of life. Unemployment and inadequate employment restrict those choices and negatively have an effect both qualities of ... Good Samaritan Health Center Of Cobb Essay Description of the Organization Good Samaritan Health Center of Cobb was founded in 2006 as a 501(c)3 organization with the goal of providing quality affordable healthcare to people in need (Good Samaritan Health Center of Cobb, 2016). Its founders, Reverend Grant Cole, the former pastor of Connection Point Church, and Dr. Jack Kennedy, Director of Cobb & Douglas Public CountyHealth, started Good Samaritan Health Center of Cobb after seeing the need in their community and realizing that medical bills and poor health are a contributing factor to poverty in the U.S (Good Samaritan Health Center of Cobb, 2016). Reverend Cole and Dr. Kennedy modeled Good Samaritan Health Center of Cobb after the Good Samaritan Health Center in Atlanta so the two organizations are very similar in mission, vision, and operations, but serve different populations based on their locations (Tapper, 2016). The official mission of Good Samaritan Cobb, as stated on their website, is, "to spread the love of Christ by providing quality healthcare to those in need." This essay will explore the roles of education, employment and health literacy as social determinants; how they contribute to health inequalities in areas of low socioeconomic status. These hazards can include exposure to toxic compounds, manual–handling risks and noise overexposure (WHO 2010, p. 22). These all contribute to the healthcare divide between the classes. Secondly, the increasing casualization of the workforce puts people into positions of precarious employment; this means jobs that are insecure, not protected by unions and have a salary that is not always able to support a household. A situation like precarious employment has many implications on the health of a demographic. A study by Moscone, Tosetti and Vittadini (2016, pp. 92 –93) shows the development of a trend in the use prescription psychotropic drugs to treat mental health disorders in Italian workers on a temporary, non–full time contract. The study also correlates the achievement of a bachelor degree or better with lower instances of mental illness that requires psychotropic drugs to treat. The use of prescription drugs to treat mental illness can cause side effects, which impacts physical health. An impaired sexual function is a common side effect of psychotropic medications. However, short hospital stays, complexity of patient care, high nurse patient ratio and high pressure work surroundings have contributed to decreased patient satisfaction and safety. As a result health care professional are required to pay more attention to these issues. Nurses are considered competent, valued and necessary for improvements in patient quality care as they work 24 hours and 7 days a week (Vaismoradi et al. 2014, p. 107). According to Dr. Lucy Cuddihy (Traits of Nursing Leadership 2015) nursing leadership includes understanding your role as a nurse for the sake of patients. While working in the hospitals, nurses are always on display and usually become role models through the way they present themselves, how they react on situations and how they communicate to perform effectively in a multidisciplinary team. Hence, the simple tasks that nurses perform in hospitals express their leadership traits which can influence patients and colleagues directly or indirectly. Many leadership roles have been come up in nursing with unfolding leadership responsibilities which explain that good quality care is the priority of nursing workforce and bringing up issues related to the patient safety in attention to the management is also a key component of these responsibilities. • 16. Economics of Obesity: Health as a Luxury Good Q1. Economics of obesity: Health as a luxury good There has been a great deal of public hand–wringing over the obesity epidemic in the United Kingdom and elsewhere. However, obesity does not affect all groups equally. Demographically, the poor are far more likely to be obese. The face of a poor person today is unlikely to be that of a person suffering from malnutrition or under–nutrition, but rather an obese person suffering from eating an abundance of calories derived from low–nutrient sources. According to the WorldHealth Organization, while "issues of nutrition had previously been almost exclusively concerned with such matters as breast–feeding, protein energy malnutrition, and micronutrient deficiencies" poverty and obesity are strongly correlated worldwide, not simply in the developed world (James 2001). People who are poorer are, in general, less able to have access to fresh, healthy vegetables and low–fat meats, causing them to rely upon cheaper, sugary carbohydrates as their main source of nutrition. They have less access to places where it is safe to exercise, and less leisure time in which to engage in healthy, active pursuits. A recent national study in the US confirmed that "body mass index (or BMI, an indicator of excess body fat) was higher every year between 1986 and 2002 among adults in the lowest income group and the lowest education group than among those in the highest income and education groups, respectively" and "wages were inversely related to BMI ... • 17. Good Digestion Is The Foundation Of Good Health Good digestion is the foundation of good health; for instance, one could theoretically eat a perfect diet and take a multivitamin, but if these nutrients aren't optimally absorbed all that's left is wasted time. The stomach isn't just one giant food processor and storage system, when you really think about it, the stomach is also the barrier between the outside world and your internal physiology. Digestive disorders, treatments, causes, etc. is an expansive topic. For the sake of time, I am going to focus primarily on treating an increasingly common condition called "leaky gut syndrome", as it can lead to many serious complications down the road. The strategies you'll use to help fight this, will also serve to increase your body's digestive capacity. Simply put, we need to remove this roadblock to ensure optimal digestion and absorption of nutrients. Leaky gut syndrome is a condition where damaged bowel lining leads to increased permeability of the gut wall to substances that shouldn't be going into your blood or interstitial areas. Certain things like bad bacteria, and foreign invaders do not get blocked from being absorbed through your intestinal membrane, and things that should get absorbed don't. I also want to emphasize that "leaky gut" is common in irritable bowel diseases such as celiac disease, crohn's disease, allergies, and many other things. This is why I want to focus so much on this aspect. So what are the symptoms? Diarrhea, chronic joint pain, chronic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A State Of Good Mental Health Essay В¬ LRADAC By Rosanna Hutto SN/MTC Midlands Technical College NUR 162 A04 Position Paper Being in a state of good mental health is more than simply the absence of a mental disorder, such as depression, mania, dissociative identity disorder, or anxiety. To be mentally healthy is to have a state of mind in which one is able to cope with the stresses of daily life, is able to be work and be productive, and realize his or her capabilities and potential. Simply put, mental health acts as the basis for an individual's effective functioning and sense of well–being. The World Health Organization defines physical and mental health as: "A state of complex physical, mental, and social well–being, and not merely the absence of disease." Despite cultural differences, many societies know the importance of good mental health. However, many still search for ways to promote mental health, which raises the question of, how can mental health be achieved? The treatment and prevention of mental illness can be difficult, and as with physical illness, no case or result is the same for everyone. Treatment varies for each illness, as well as for individual client needs and level of severity. With the numerous choices of treatment available today, people around the world have a greater chance at not only preventing or decreasing mental illness, but also the opportunity to enhance their mental health through the public health model of primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention. ... Therefore, it is important to have a look what is the background of the individual, to understand their behaviour. 1.1One impact of socio –economic influences on the health, can be the cultural tradition. For example, in some cultures is overweight, seeing as something positive as this shows the social status in their society. Skinny people would be associated with poorness, therefore is "feeding" a common practice by some cultures, regardless other health consequences. This behaviour is completely the opposite what health campaigns associating with overweight in the UK. Today, grocery shopping means being bombarded with bright, obnoxious labels claiming its superiority with elements such as "gluten–free," or "100% natural," (wait, doesn 't that mean organic?). Consumers unequivocally reach for the products that have labels such as "sugar–free," or "fat–free." Consequently, the clever, misrepresented marketing goes unquestioned by consumers. The quest of goodhealth has been around for centuries, and many of society 's "health conscious" consumers are easily persuaded by the power of suggestion. Why is it that there are never any declarations of how many dangerous chemical substitutes added to achieve the "same great taste?" Many consumers do not know that sugar–free products should have a label that reads "may cause cancer," next to it. Aspartame is the most common artificial sweetener used to replace sugar, and that chemical is known to cause cancer. What makes an "all–natural" product different from an organic one, and what about gluten–free? Do the majorities of our population really even know what gluten is? These words, said by author Amit Kalantri are words recognizing the need for acknowledgment when it comes to the health of everyone. There are a majority of people in the United States who cannot afford healthcare because of its Out–of–Pocket system. Healthcare is the maintenance and improvement of physical and mental health. It is needed by everyone, whether they are ill or not. Many of those people who can afford it are stuck in their own little worlds and do not bother stopping to "smell the roses" so to speak. They have everything they could possibly want and feel that they are inconveniencing themselves by stopping for a mere second to appreciate the blessing bestowed upon them. The United States has an Out–of–Pocket healthcare program that has millions of citizens uninsured.
