2. Process
• The image to the left is my Logo. To begin with, I
opened a new Photoshop document and selected the
font I wanted to use for my Title. I then had to
think of a way to make my logo interesting so I took
a picture of the new hp Omen X computer and
edited it in-between the two words. I then
remembered that I used to play with a three handled
joystick and that if I turned it 90 degrees it would
look like an E. After my Logo was done I changed
the hue/saturation of the pc and the controller to
make it fit in with the text and background.
3. Process
• This is an image of my image logo to represent
my magazine. This logo will help identify my
magazine easier. The shape in the logo is of the
fleur-de-lis (Which was found while
experimenting with brush in the shape of the 4
points of a compass. I will add the logo next to
the page number so it is discreet and challenging
to spot.
4. Process
The image to the left is my front cover. First I had to get my background image and I
wanted the cover to be of counterstrike because that is the game I usually play on my pc.
I then had to make sure it was in portrait so the image didn’t look stretched and
abnormal.
After I got my background image I got my title and put it at the top. Unfortunately the
title didn’t fit but I took a copy of the background and cut out the head so my text
would go behind the image and not the background otherwise it would have gone
behind and you wouldn’t be able to see it.
Then, I went on to getting a few pictures off the internet to put on the side of my
magazine. I had to think of some text to go with it so I got a few text boxes and wrote
some short but interesting lines which would hopefully entice the reader to buy and read
the magazine.
I then added my banner at the bottom (the red and green rectangle at the bottom of the
page). To create the banner I highlighted a rectangular shape at the bottom of the screen
and used the mixer tool to get two different colours.
5. Process
• For my double page spread I got a picture of Arma 3 (a
very popular first and third person shooter). I then got
the colour off the photo and applied it to the right page
So that the colour was consistent throughout the double
page spread. Then on the second page, the first column
talks about Arma 3 and the new releases and dlc’s
being brought out on the game. The second column
was about the new dlc for call of duty black ops 3 called
Zombie Chronicles. I talked about the cost and what I
thought about it in general.
6. Process
• At the end of doing the writing I had to change my
Photoshop file into a jpeg file which was easy. All I did
for this was save as and select jpeg file. This changed it
to look like the actual image rather than having tools
on the side and a black background. This means that it
looks more like a double page spread and I will use that
as my final product for my magazine.
7. Process
For my next fmp product I went on to a
website called redbubble where I put my logo
onto some different apparel such as, T-shirts,
hoodies and Laptop covers. I wanted some
merchandise as an extra component to my
magazine cover and double page spread.
8. Process
Overall, putting my work together I was really happy with the way it turned out,
I think that if I had more time I would have created something even better and
maybe a few more posters which would go nicely with the magazine front cover
but I tried my best all together and I am satisfied with the work I produced.
My time management has been on the bad side as I didn’t hand in my work on
time consistently, however, I worked hard on improvements and have now
completed the feedback I was given.
