Next editing update for music video

Week 2
ThisweekI have filmed and edited some more for my music video. This week I have been making
the videothatwill be putontothe disc and playedthrough the TV screen, sothat I can filmthe living
room scene over the weekend.
On Monday, I addedthe Foley soundof the personknockingonthe TV screenthatI had recorded
overthe weekend ontothe video forthe disc. The soundrecordedwasmyself knockingonanactual
TV screen. I edited more shotsonthe mainmusicvideo,sothatthe visualsmatchedthe lyricsand
editedthe time-lapsesintoplace. OnTuesday, Ifilmedthe argumentsceneswhere the actorshave
a disagreementandreconciliation –inline withthe peace theme of the video. Ieditedthese shots
on Wednesdayand additionallyIfoundonthe internetthe TV staticsoundthat will be usedonthe
discvideo. OnThursday,I had fullyfinishedthe discvideosoIburnedthe videoontoadisc so thatI
can record the livingroom scenes atthe weekend.

2. Burningthe videoontothe disc.
Week3
Thisweek, Iworkedon some more footage forthe music video,mainlythe beginningof the video
before the songbeginsinthe livingroom.
On Tuesday,Iimportedthe livingroomscenes thatIdidoverthe weekend (highlighted inblueon
the ProjectMediabelow) ontoMovie StudioPlatinumandeditedthem. Thisisthe introductionto
my musicvideo.

3. I alsoarrangedsome more of the scenessothat the visualsmatchedthe lyrics. Ihave used
continuitywiththe narrative andfollowed mystoryboard.
On Thursday,I thoughtmore aboutthe creativityof the shotsthat I wantedtoshow. For example, I
made a jumpcut of the character in the TV disappearingintothe woods,asIwantedto make the
shotmore dramaticand it interpretstime passing. Thischaracterrepresentsthe maincharacter’s
innerself and thatthe maincharacter has to follow himtobe shownhow it isour ownchoice to
leave apeaceful andfulfillinglife.

4. In thisscene Itook a shot zoomingintothe sun. HoweverIdidn’tknow how to move ontothe next
scene as itwouldcut toosharply,so I useda transition called ‘SoftFlash’whichmakesthe scene
afterthe sun appearwhite andthenfade ontothe nextscene. Thisnow changes more smoothly
whenthe viewerwatchesthe video.
