This document summarizes a study on the performance of warm mix asphalt using VG-30 binder for bituminous concrete layers. Warm mix asphalt can be produced at temperatures 30-40°C lower than conventional hot mix asphalt, offering environmental and operational benefits. The study found that adding a warm mix additive to the control mix improved properties like density, stability, voids filled with bitumen, and decreased air voids. Optimum results were achieved with 4% additive by weight of bitumen. Overall, the study concluded that warm mix asphalt performed better than conventional hot mix asphalt on various parameters based on Marshall testing methods.
