This document summarizes a research paper that proposes using a predictive control method and fuzzy logic control method to improve the efficiency of an active power filter for renewable power generation systems. The active power filter is implemented using a four-leg voltage-source inverter. Simulation results using MATLAB/Simulink show that the proposed control strategy is able to effectively compensate current harmonics, current imbalance, and reactive power under different operating conditions, maintaining sinusoidal current waveforms with low total harmonic distortion. Both steady state and transient responses are evaluated, demonstrating the compensation performance of the active power filter and control strategy.
