This document presents a mathematical model of a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) for a wind turbine, developed using MATLAB/Simulink. It includes models of the wind turbine's aerodynamic and mechanical systems, as well as electrical models of the DFIG. The DFIG model is based on equations in a synchronous rotating reference frame. Simulation results demonstrating the response of the wind turbine and DFIG outputs to changing wind speed are presented and analyzed. The paper concludes the model can effectively represent the dynamic behavior of an actual DFIG wind turbine system.
