The document analyzes the mechanical and metallurgical properties of aluminum-fly ash composite material created using stir casting. Testing found that adding silicon dioxide and fly ash to aluminum in amounts up to 10% decreased density but increased hardness. Tensile strength decreased with less reinforcement added. Scanning electron microscopy showed particles were well dispersed in the aluminum matrix. Aluminum-fly ash-fly ash composites performed better than aluminum-fly ash or aluminum-fly ash alone, with enhanced properties and potential for weight reduction applications.
