1. Work Experience:
For my work experience at Dalton Park I worked with the marketing team
and did a lot of things for them such as shadowing them in meetings,
filming Instagram reels, modelling for adverts, voice over work, making
audits for their website and writing student blogs for their website too.
Working with them was incredibly informative as too what my work could
look like if I went into a career in Marketing. I really enjoyed my time there
and look forward to pursuing this career path further.
2. Instagram Reels
A lot of my time at Dalton Park was spent with Chelsea who
would edit film and come up with the ideas for most the posts
on Dalton Parks social media pages. I would help out with some
of the shots and come up with different things to do on the spot
while filming. This was great to learn as I went with her
guidance gave me chances to learn and get better as the days
went on. I also would be put in charge of editing these reels and
if I wasn’t I was almost always In them. When we would film on
different days we would film for different shops around the mall.
So I had to adapt to that and try different shots like long pans if
they wanted something on the shelves showcased or low
angles if something was up and they wanted it in the video.
3. Blog Post Drafts
On top of doing some videos and editing work, I drafted a
student blog post and made an audit for their social channels
(their website and social media accounts. I am quite used to
writing a lot due to my previous work experience at A Love
Supreme so curating both the blog and audit were a lot easier
than if I hadn't spent time there. With the blog post I had to use
language that would make it exciting and ask questions of the
reader. I also had to use deals and the different brands that are in
Dalton Park to attract readers. I learned a lot about brand power
and how consumers are mainly going to spend there money on
pre-existing brands rather than new brands and the more well
known the brand is the more people are attracted toward it. Also
the audit was a bit of a collaborative effort between me and Noami
who was in charge of me and Chelsea and head of the marketing
team. She told be where all the relevant parts of the website for
students and with any questions I had for her about the different
channels.
