1. Evaluation
4. How did you use new
technologies in the
construction and research,
planning and evaluation
stages?
2. Introduction
In my project I have used a variety of
methods to produce and present work. To
start with in this cause I had limited
knowledge of how to create and produce a
music video. I will identify my technology
skills that I learnt throughout this project
and how I used them to contribute within
my work.
3. Vegas Movie Studio
To produce and edit a music video we used ‘Vegas
Movie Maker’ this program allowed us to create
professional editing, seamless transitions, add effects
and transform our green scene into what we initially
wanted. This software was new to me but after
experimenting I learnt new features and techniques
including; how to add in a sound track, split scenes,
edit successfully and play with altering the colour
balance. The main thing I developed whilst working
on this project was how to use a green screen; to
begin with we imported the filming onto the program
and had to test out different ways in using images or
filming behind Holly. We ended up with using a still
image although we had camera movements in Holly’s
performance eg. Panning, we thought this
background worked best and conventional a still
image is used to replace a green scene. I think I now
feel comfortable in using this software and advanced
in my technology skills.
4. Adobe
Another range of software I used
was Adobe, InDesign allowed me
to create a digipak and poster,
whereas I used Photoshop to help
me edit my images. These
programs helped my creative areas
of the project.
5. Adobe InDesign
InDesign allowed me to place images on
my templates. I could use layers to create
a professional look to the products. I tried
to create a running theme in the products
by using the same font, colour and layout.
After using InDesign I think I could edit
and produce a appealing and professional
looking print media product.
6. Adobe Photoshop
Photoshop is a software program I now real confident in
using; it helped me edit all my images into looking more
polished in terms of cropping and editing. The biggest
challenge I took on Photoshop was completely transforming
the background of a picture. We really like an image we took
of Holly sitting down with the guitar however there was a bin
on the grass that didn’t look aesthetically pleasing. With the
edit tools I could copy areas of the grass and place them over
the bin so it became unnoticeable. The image is now on the
front cover of our digipak and looks extremely good. I also
wanted to add in interest with some of the images so edited
the balance of colours, brightness and exposure. I also
changed a few images into black and white giving them a
retro, classy look.
7. Planning & Research
Presentation
Blogger is how I have presented all of my work; it has
allowed me to share my research, planning, designs,
construction and evaluation. I have been able to put
together the pages and pick the background. The leaves
make the project have a running theme of autumn and
match the love genre of song. I have really enjoyed posting
my work as I can look back and see the progress I have
made.
8. Planning & Research
Presentation
I used a variety of other programs including Prezi, Slideshare, Photoshop and Scribd.
All of these added in interest to my blog and made it more exciting to the eye. Prezi
was a new program to me at the start I made a few presentations that I am really
happy with; I think I learnt how to use the flow of the presentation effectively
without making it to messy and confusing to the viewer. Slideshare was another
program I used where I could upload slides to share them with other people viewing
my blog, this program allowed me to feature links to videos on YouTube, this
contributed to our inspiration but allowed me to share it effectively and illustrate to
other. Photobucket was the perfect sight to create slideshows with my images, I
really enjoyed this and could edit the order and speed of the show, it is very efficient
and I think I used it for the right purpose. Scribd was useful in terms of uploading
sets of documents with images or other graphics on.
