Educational media at the university level and its role in
raising awareness of the dangers of intellectual extremism:
an applied study on the Northern Border University
Abstract
The study aimed to identify the role of educational media at the
university level in raising awareness of the dangers of intellectual
extremism, taken from the Northern Border University in Arar , Saudi
Arabia as a model for the study, and this study is descriptive and
analytical, as it relied on using the social survey method through the
sample, through a sample of students It is estimated that there are
(500) male and female students distributed among the various colleges
of the university, and a sample of faculty members consisting of (50)
members and members, also distributed among the various colleges of
the university. The questionnaire tool was also used as a tool to collect
data from the study sample and answer its questions.
The study reached many results, the most important of which is that
the educational media are present in a large way in the university
environment, but they work individually and do not collect a single
umbrella in working to achieve their goals, and that participation in
educational media activities at the university by students and faculty
members does not Rise to the level that it should be, and that
educational media actually seeks to raise awareness of the dangers of
intellectual extremism, but it does not reach a large number of
students and its impact remains less than it should be, And that one of
the most important obstacles facing educational media at the
university level in carrying out its role is the lack of an independent
educational media unit and that its activities are practiced sporadically
among the various colleges at the university., and the most important
recommendations of the study: the need to pay attention to
establishing a specialized unit for educational media management at
the university and assign those roles to specialists in that field and
make the field wider for students to participate in Educational media
activities at the university level.
