Study Summary:
The study tackles the role of Al-Azhar Secondary education in the
development of health awareness of students. This is done by defining
health awareness and its related terms, its importance for the individual
and society, and methods of its formation according to its cultural,
protective, behavioral, and environmental elements. The study also
analyzes topics related to health awareness in the three years courses.
The analysis’ results show the sufficiency of these topics in the elements
of health culture and the environmental awareness while there is failure
in the topics of the elements of behavioral health and protection.
The study proposed some mechanisms to activate the role of Al-Azhar
secondary education in the formation of health awareness. Such
mechanisms include the provision of medical services for teachers,
administrators, and technicians as well as curative and preventive
services for students not to mention the quantitative and qualitative
development of health awareness topics in the content of courses, and
health, environmental and sports activities supporting them.
