3. Canon in D
• Johann Pachelbel was a German pre- 1700s
composer.
• Canon in D was forgotten about and then
rediscovered in 1919 where it became
popular.
• A few of todays songs use the same rhythm.

4. Lesson
• We will be listening to 2 different versions of Canon in D.
• In the beginning students will listen, then after the piece ends
students will write down what they felt when they heard the
piece and what they heard as well.
• After students have listened to both pieces we will discuss
what the students have written.

• For an asses ment students will need to compare what they
heard and felt after hearing both pieces in one paragraph.
5. Accomodations
• ESOL and ESE students will be alloted extra time
to work on the assessment.
• ESOL and ESE students would be allowed to work
with a partner for the assessment and during the
lesson if they need it.
• Instead of writing a paragraph of 3-5 sentences
they will write 2 sentences comparing the pieces
or they will be allowed to come to me and talk to
me about their comparison.
