1. The first font I have chosen to
use is called ‘MONA SHARK’ I
have chosen this font because it
fits in with my pop art theme.
Plus it is visually engaging.
I then typed in the first
part of Annie’s name. I
chose to have the word
written in large letters as
the logo needs to be big
and engaging.
2. I then saved the screenshot
of the ‘dafont’ website as a
picture in my area. I named
the file ‘ANN.’
Next I opened up the saved
picture as a new file on
Photoshop. As you can see
there is already another file
open. This is the file I will
edit the logo onto.
3. I then selected the crop tool
for the tool bar. This is so I
could crop out the rest of the
picture just so I have the word
‘ANN’ left.
Using the select tool from the
tool bar (circled in blue) I
dragged the remaining
cropped picture onto my
editing page.
To edit on Photoshop you
have to create layers. It is
easier to name the layers
yourself so you know
exactly what you are
editing. I have named this
layer ‘ANN.’
4. As you can see the image is
tiny. So to make it bigger, I
have gone to the drop down
menu, selected ‘transform’
and then clicked on ‘scale.’ To
resize your image without it
getting blurry you hold down
shit whilst you scale it to the
correct size you are after.
The image is now at
the size that I
wanted.
5. I then went back onto ‘dafont’
and chose a font called ‘JACKS
CANDLESTICK’ I liked this font
because it is big and bold and
will make the exclamation mark
stand out against the MONA
SHARK font.
The exclamation mark I
chose is the top one. I
then saved this
screenshot as an image
in my file. The file is
called ‘exclamation.’
6. I then cropped out the image
until I was left with just the
exclamation mark. To open this
file and create the cropped
image I did the same as I did
for ‘ANN.’
I scaled the image to the be
same size as the word ‘ANN’ I
have chosen to use an
exclamation mark instead of
the letter ‘I’ because it sticks
to my pop art theme.
7. I went back to the ‘MONA
SHARK’ font to add the ‘E’
for Annie’s name. I again
chose the letter to be
large so it is the same size
as the rest of the logo.
This was the end
result. I then saved
this screenshot to my
files as an image and
called the file ‘E.’
8. I again scaled cropped
the image using the
cropping tool and then
the select tool to drag it
onto my editing file. I
then scaled the ‘E’ to get
it to the same size as the
rest of the logo.
This is what my logo
now looks like.
9. I then selected the paint tool,
which I have circled in red. The tool
at the bottom that I have circled in
green is what I used to chose which
colour I wanted.
This is what appears so I
can choose the colour I
want my font.
10. I choose a bright
yellow colour
because yellow is a
key colour that
occurs in pop art.
This is my final logo product.
