Faster opening analysis

2. • In the opening an extreme close up of the actors chest is used this prevents the audience from
seeing the actors face this creates an enigma code as the audience are wondering who the man is.
A birds eye view from the top of the prison cell is then used and we can see Dwayne Johnson
walking up and down his cell, this tells the audience that the character is becoming impatient. The
camera then zooms onto a tattoo on the arms of the character this implies the tattoo symbolises
something important and will probably feature later on in the film. The audience can see how eager
the prisoner is as we see his feet walking and his moving quick and aggressively the camera then
cuts to the feet of the officers walking and they seem to be more calm and composed, this implies
to the audience that the character has bad intentions when he gets out of prison. An over the
shoulder shot of a picture on the wall is used, the picture starts of out of focus and the character is
in focus then the character becomes out of focus and the picture becomes in focus. This is used to
let the audience know what they should be looking at. Shot reverse shot is the used whilst the
character is looking at picture this is so the audience can see the effect that looking at the picture
has on the prisoner; the extreme close up of the prisoner allows the audience to see his facial
expression, and they can gather that the pictures bring anger to him. However when he takes the
photo off the wall another extreme close up of the prisoners eyes are used and the audience can
see that the photo know brings emotion to the him and he looks like he's lost something important
to, him the audience may infer that something bad has happened to the man in the photo which
could explain why he is angry and he is eager to get out of prison to get revenge on whoever it was
who done something to the man in the picture.
