Pre Production
Not booking a camera Make sure all equipment (Including
camera) is booked in time for filming

Production
the camera/ sound recorder battery dies Bring extra batteries. Make sure to inform
all members of crew to bring a pack of
batteries for the sound recorder.
Actors don’t Work well enough to
portray a character.
Tell them that they are not up to scratch
with
their character profile, and that they need
to work to the script’s directions. Try
encouraging methods
Footage gets deleted. Reshoot shots or save to two locations as
a backup.
Equipment gets damaged. Try to repair damages if minor, ask for
guidance from tutor and get equipment
replaced.
Actors do not show up when needed Record all shots where character is not
needed, reschedule shooting time. If the
scene has medium shots and close up of
actors and it’s indoors with no natural light
record that scene with the actor you have
on the day and then get the other actor to
record that part.
Misplacement of equipment when
booked
Re-book equipment for future filming
time, ask crew if they have any spare
equipment that could be used as a
backup.
2. Unable to film at a locations desired
Have a list of backup locations that can be
used. Inform tutor of the predicament.
Crowded area If the area is crowded we will have to find
another area where there will be less
people. Or if not possible we will have to
reschedule
If the actors get lost or can’t find their way
to the location
We will ring them up and see where they
are and try to locate at a suitable time to
be able to gain footage.
Post Production
The editing program crashes Try solving the problem and consult tutor
if unable to source the problem. Update
software is necessary.
No internet on deadline day Seek another source of wifi or computer.
Download edited film and upload at home.
Inform tutor of predicament
Footage is lost Re-record the lost pieces of footage as
soon as possible. Inform tutor of
predicament in hopes of getting an
extension.
Saved work becomes lost/ unsaved and
un retrievable
Re-record and re edit all the work that has
been lost. Inform tutor of predicament in
hopes of getting an extension.
