1. Dark Deal Productions, Overall Risk Assessment:
RISK LOCATION PERSON (S) RESPONSIBLE PREVENTION / MATIEANCE
Rain, heavy
All outside
wind and other
locations
adverse
weather
Director, producers and camera crew In the event we suffer from extreme rain we shall have
to use an umbrella to ensure that the electronic
equipment isn’t damaged. In the case of strong winds
the camera crew will have to make sure that the tripod
is correctly steady so that it doesn’t fall over. If the
weather becomes such an issue that the filming
becomes impossible then the shot shall have to the
rescheduled but we have plenty of additional time to
reshoot.
Damaged
Equipment
All locations Director and crew This should be a situation that never arises as the crew
will take extra care to make sure the equipment is
used correctly and nothing adverse happens to them
but in the case there is a fault with equipment out of
our control we will make sure to carry additional
cameras and tripods that can be tagged in just in case.
2. Dark Deal Productions, Overall Risk Assessment:
The quality may be slightly lower but those shots can
always be replaced further down the line when we
have acquired replacements
Battery
drained on
cameras
All Locations Director and crew This is a problem that can strike at any time.
Thankfully it is something that can easily be avoided
by making sure that before every shoot the gear is
charged. As the director it will be my soul job to charge
all the cameras and microphones before the shoots
and I shall do this every night before the shot. That
way the gear wont run out of battery. I have also taken
care to make sure that the shots on the call sheets
don’t last more than two hours. In the extra long
shoots the cameras will be left turned off during none
use to help preserve that battery. In the worse case
scenario the battery does run out the shot shall have to
be rescheduled
Missing / Late
Actors
All Locations Director/ HR and actors A problem that can arise at any point during a
production is the event that any of the actors don’t
show up. This problem is combated by the fact there
are only two actors in the entire production. One of
them is me so that guaranties that I will always be on
set and the female character can be improvised by a
male as long as they can wear the shoes as that is all
that is shown
Filled SD Cards All Locations Director/ Crew Another problem with digital filming is the event that
the camera’s memory fills with footage. To counteract

that I am making sure to carry extra SD cards in the
case that the volume is completely filled. In the event
that all memory is used I will make sure to delete any
shots on the spots that aren’t required or going to be
used.
The Public Outside
Locations
(Cliffside and
street)
Director/ Crew We plan on counteracting the street issue by filming
during the day during a work day as that will mean
very few people will be present on the street to
interrupt the shoot. The Cliffside is another problem
though. Is a public location that anyone can access so
extra care shall have to be taken. Upon arriving at the
location we all have to make sure to evaluate the area
to ensure that they are no threats. Though the area is
relatively safe it is always important to check the area.
Problems can also be avoided by leaving no equipment
unattended. Finally we shall take great care to film in a
relatively quiet area so not to disturb the passers by.
Smashed Glass Kitchen/ House Director / Crew / First Aiders During one of the scenes we will be smashing a photo
frame, which means glass, will be smashed around the
set. Of course this can be dangerous but we are taking
great care to implement various steps to avoid this
danger. For a start all the crew and cast will be behind
the camera and therefore out of the way. Finally the
person smashing the glass will do it will very little
force to not send the glass flying everywhere. They will
also be wearing goggles and a long sleeve shirt just in

case. After the shot is complete the glass will be
cleaned up immediately to make sure nobody steps on
it. In case anything fails or becomes a major problem
we have two qualified first aiders on set at all times
and they can take care of things if problems should
arise.
Matches / Fire
and burning
photo
Kitchen scene Director / Cast and first aiders Once again this can be a very dangers shot to make
sure that no problems happen we shall be taking
extreme care with this. For a start the lead actor
performing this shot will be required to wash their
hands with cold water and wear a thin fire proof
ointment to help combat any potential burns. I will
take great care to give the actor the correct amount of
instruction to make sure problems doesn’t happen
though. So I shall make sure the photo is dropped into
a water bucket before it reaches the actor’s hand.
There will also be one member of the crew waiting
with a bucket of water to help out in case of any
problems. Finally in the worst-case scenario we have
two first aiders on set who will be able to help with the
situation if it should come to that.
Poor
Performance
All Locations Director / Actor To avoid this I shall be sure to give myself the full
instructions on what to do. I shall also be having my
full crew giving me feedback on every shot to make
sure its good enough. In the case a shot is poor I shall
make sure to reshoot it. Thanks to the high abundance
5. Dark Deal Productions, Overall Risk Assessment:
of time on the call sheets we should have the time to
get the best possible quality.
Damaged
Costume
All Locations Director / Lead Costume Artist We plan on using the same costume through out the
video to help create continuity. But in the event the
costume is dirtied or damaged in some way we shall
have to swap it out and take great care to make sure it
matches in the continuity of the film. I have purchased
3 sets of the same outfit so if one should become
damaged I can just swap it out.
Missing Props All Locations Director / Crew / Prop artist A production can be brought to a halt if a shot required
prop is not on set when it is needed. I have taken great
care to make sure that all the props used are mundane
items that can be found around the house so they can
be easily replaced if the required prop isn’t on set.
Finally the main problem can be the flowers that are
required so I shall make sure to keep two pairs to hand
at all times.
Editing
Problems
Post
Production
Director / Editor / Video technician One of the main problems that can arise during the
postproduction of the video is the fact that sometimes
issues can occur. Something that happened last year is
the fact that I found out that my footage was
incompatible with the editing software. Eventually I
was able to find a work around for that by converting
the footage. This time around I shall make sure to do
that straight away.
6. Dark Deal Productions, Overall Risk Assessment:
Video
Creativity
problems
Post
Production
Director / Editor When everything is said and done problems can still
arise. When I look back on the footage new problems
may arise. For example I may see certain scene that I
don’t like the look of or scenes that don’t apply to the
genre conventions. In this event I will have to go back
to filming and to make sure that I get new and better
shots. Thankfully, I have gave my self plenty of time to
get all of my tasks done and as long as I stay in front of
deadlines I can make sure that I will have extra time to
fix and issues that should arise.
