1. Evaluation
I think that the movie ‘wind talkers’ helped me massively with
getting in all my ideas in to film & edit ‘Faded’. Without watching
and analysing this film I wouldn’t of had the skills and the
knowledge to shoot all the camera angles I did. ‘WindTalkers’ is a
war film so a variety of shots and effects were used to make
everything seem as realistic as possible. This movie improved my
knowledge of film making and all the process it goes through.
In our short film we shot many different angles such as
-Birds eye view -Longshot
-Low angle/High angle shot -Over the shoulder shot
-Close up -Shot Reverse Shot
All these shots and many more were used in this film as it was
one of the most dramatic moments in the world
2. Evaluation
Pre-production stage
I think that in the time we had our planning and layouts for the story
were successful. Out pre-production process was the most helpful
and successful, because without planning for the film we would
have been lost not knowing what to film, we wouldn’t of had
anything planned, we wouldn’t know where to start or how to film
anything. And our short film wouldn’t be as good as it is right now
I reckon that our filming went very well because we used a
variety of shots and angle, we used the right angles for each
scene which made the short film interesting. Unfortunately
we didn’t have enough time to add any non diagetic noises,
but what we did have time for was putting special effects in,
which made the scenes seem more realistic.
3. EvaluationStrengths and weaknesses
The strengths of our A-B story was the angle choices & how we filmed
everything, also some of the effects I used to make some scenes the most
realistic I could, almost to make the watchers feel what the actor is feeling
at that very time, our use of hand held filming was also one of our
strengths to add more realistic affects.
We also had some weaknesses which was filming everything in
chronological order, also in our film we made a few mistakes, there was a
couple of scenes towards the end where some scenes were skipped too
much and everything moved forward too quickly, but I think that that’s
our only downfall in our 3 minute film.

I have used conventions of a movie poster such as an iconic
image (myself) to show who the main character is in our film.
The filter used helps to code for the drug use in our film,
looking at my eyes they are red, a main attribute of taking
narcotics. The weaknesses of my poster is not having a tag
line/slogan which would help the audience to recognise our
film.
To improve I could’ve added a blur effect to epitomise
the title and film.

The strengths in this poster is that its the title is in capital letters
and it is in a big font size so its eye catching to the viewers of
the poster. Also, it shows the age rated to imply that it is directed
at people aged 12 and above. The weaknesses in this poster is
that there is no slogan to give a short highlight about the story.
The improvements for this poster is that that filter can
look more blurry to relate to the title ‘F.A.D.E.D’ . Also, the
a aged rated box could blend it with the background or
just use a basic ‘12 rated logo’.

I have faded the original image to give it the
same effect as the title. The title is in the centre in
bold white, I think that one of my weaknesses
was that I didn’t use any colour so my picture
couldn’t represent anything, its plain. I also added
a rating to show that our film is highly rated
I could have added colour and put the
title at the top or the bottom, I could
have added more detail.

I think that one of my strengths in my poster is that its right type of
image you expect to see from a teaser. Another one of my strengths
are my effects which I've added which correlates with the name of
the film. Also the colour of the writing matches the red in the
background. I've also chosen red because it’s a colour which
indicates danger. My weaknesses are that I never included the age
rating on my poster. Also there's a lot of negative space on the top
half of my poster where I could have included a slogan.
We spoke to a few of the people who got to see the advanced
screening and they are really pleased with the performance of our
cast and crew. “The film seemed really professional with all the
editing” said Munirba as she was being interviewed, another
interviewee Tyrone said “ The angles and shots were really well
used. We've also had a lot of positive criticism saying that we
should of added some soundtracks to liven up the movie or add
some more emphasis in certain scenes
As I mentioned in my strengths and weaknesses some
improvements could have been made, I reckon that I could of
added the actors names at the top to fill the space up, even a
slogan would have make it a full teaser poster
