2. Idea 1
Use of an isolated, family house setting for the location, with low key
lighting as both of these would create a sense of mystery around the
location and story. The costumes worn by the characters would be
conventionally normal to create a normal family storyline, so the audience
would be able to relate to the characters in the story. For this idea the
storyline would include a normal family, but one of the characters in the
story would be possessed, so this would be a paranormal disturbance
horror film. The props in this story would include children's toys and family
pictures, to link to the family story, but also weapons like knifes to link to
the horror genre. The type of camerawork in this trailer would include the
use of handheld cameras, to create realism. There would be close ups to
show the emotion of the characters so the audience could relate to them.
3. Idea 2
Use of the woods for the setting of the trailer, as this would create mystery
as the surroundings would be foggy, so it would create anticipation as they
wouldn’t be able to see what was going to happen. The lighting would be
mainly low key, as this is conventional of the genre. The costumes worn by
the characters would be normal clothing for teenagers, so jeans, but for the
antagonist would be wearing a different costume, maybe white clothing as
it’s conventional, to make them stand out from the others. In this idea the
storyline would include a group of friends who would go camping, and then
would be followed by someone and people would go missing throughout.
This storyline would be conventional of the genre as it creates suspense
and anticipation. Diegetic sounds used in this could include screams and
snapping twigs. Props for this could include weapons such as knifes for
the antagonist. The camerawork could include handheld cameras to create
realism.
