2. What is a Digipak?
• A digipak is a patented style
of optical disc packaging for
CD’s and DVD’s, typically
made from cardboard with an
internal plastic holder for one or
more discs.
• They are often used for special editions of artists albums
• Digipak’s consist of a gatefold outer binding, with one or
more plastic trays which are capable of holding the
CD/DVD
3. Front of a Digipak
• The front of a digipak usually grabs the consumers attention by
having a large picture or a bold design usually linking to the
artist/band
• The name of the album is usually on the front as well as the name of
the artist/band
• My example is Rihanna’s ‘Talk That
Talk’, she has a picture of herself,
the title of the album placed at the
bottom and also her logo in the top
left corner.

• Inside a digipak you will usually find the plastic holder for the CD.
Nowadays, behind the plastic folder you may find album artwork or
pictures of the artist.
• Sometimes on the actual CD additional information can be found
about the album such as personal messages or song/artist
information.
• Inside of the digipak may be a pull out
small booklet to tell you information
about the songs also
