Digipak Research
Digipaks are commonly used for promotion of the artist or band, a
digipak helps within this as they are not like a normal jewel case
holder, these are cardboard and can be folded in a way similar to a book.
Digipaks can contain more than one disk and this becomes very helpful
as digipaks are used for promotion and usually hold the special edition
CD’s or DVD’s that can simply be folded away for easy storage.
Digipaks hold there CD’s with a thin plastic tray attached to the
cardboard cover, there is a weakness to this as they aren’t very strong
and easily ruin, both plastic tray and cardboard.

Existing Product Analysis
Here is the digipak of one of
Rihanna’s Albums. I really like this
digipak as an example because it
has a constant theme running all
the way through it. My attraction to
this particular one was that
throughout its theme its more of
an old eclectic urban look which
may be something I intend to
apply to my own digipak. The only
criticism I have for the example is
that its all images with very little
writing and I would like some
inscriptions on the back of my own
product.
