2. Analyzing the Learner
My lesson will be directed toward a third grade class room of boys and girls.
This is a regular education class with no special modifications needed, and
the students have mixed learning styles.
3. Main Objective
The students will learn the basic parts of speech, including nouns, verbs,
adjectives, and adverbs. They will also be discussing why each is important in
a sentence and will be able to describe and identify them. This will be
achieved through in class discussion, a webquest, and watching videos. They
will have a 95% accuracy rate at the end of the unit.
4. Day By Day Breakdown
Day one- Students will be introduced to the basic parts of a sentence.
Day two-Students will learn the difference between nouns and verbs.
Day three- Students will differentiate between adverbs and adjectives.
Day four-We will discuss why each part of speech is important.
Day five-Students will be assessed by being able to describe what each is and
identify them in a sentence.
5. Technology
Students will be doing an online webquest.
Students will be watching age appropriate, interactive videos that further
explain the parts of speech.
