Dear brethren:
Beth and I send you our thanks for your love and support of missions. Our work has
continued with your help. Thank you.
Our congregation last met for worship in our building on the 15th March 2020. The
Scottish government advised that meetings of more than 10 should stop and that was then
reduced to household members only. We anticipated earlier in March that we would have
to stop meeting in the building and began seeking options to keep worshipping together
apart from the building. We subscribed to Zoom.
We planned for the 22nd March to be our last meeting together at the building. How-
ever, the infection rate of the virus increased rapidly and it was decided to move to Zoom
on the 22nd. On the 24th March, the whole country went into lockdown. Schools were
closed for private lets a week earlier signaling the end of our mid-week youth work and
Bible classes. More vulnerable members like our older members, and those with compro-
mised immune systems were told to stay indoors for 12 weeks. Only now are some of the
social restrictions being lifted.
Zoom became a lifeline for our daily work. We meet for worship on Sundays at 11am.
We ordered individual communion for everyone with both bread and the fruit of the vine.
A one-month supply was delivered to every family in the church along with collection
envelopes too. Some members give by online banking.
Every day of the week we have Zoom activities. Here is a breakdown of our Zoom
week:
Sunday: Worship, 11am: Bedtime Stories with Adam, 9pm. Monday: Get Physi-wi-Nicki,
11am; Women of Prayer, 1:30pm; Youth Club, 3pm. Tuesday: Cooking with the Filipino,
11am; Tuesdays Together (Bible Study), 3pm; Quiz, 6:30pm. Wednesday: Get Physi-wi-
Nicki, 11am; Sugar Loaf Fountain, 2pm. Thursday: Cooking with the Filipino, 11am; Af-
ternoon Tea with The Bluebells (over 60’s), 2:30pm; Adult Bible Class, 7pm. Friday: Get
Physi-wi-Nicki, 11am. Saturday: Zoomba, 11am; Saturday Night at the Movies, 7pm.
In addition to all this, there are personal Bible studies, online visitation, and the occa-
sional special fellowship event. Frankly, it feels like we’ve been busier than normal.

SCOTLAND REPORT

One of the positive things that Zoom brought about was
the involvement from other members to keep people together
and encouraged. We started 9 care groups, set up a WhatsApp
group for the church, and Nicole organizes 2 isolation chal-
lenges each week.
All our worship services are recorded and can be watched
on our YouTube channel. The sermon-only version can be
found on our Facebook page.
It has been strange not seeing one another at the building
but we have stayed together nonetheless. Several events have
been cancelled too. Camp Heatherbell was due to start in 2
weeks but has been cancelled this year. Our summer mission
with St. Augustine in July was cancelled as is our autumn
seminar with Joseph Horton. I’ve had speaking engagements in
April at Liverpool and September in Peterhead cancelled. Beth
and I hoped to attend Polishing the Pulpit in August but that
couldn’t happen either.
Several members may lose their jobs at the end of all this.
The economy of the nation faces hard times ahead, but what
country doesn’t in these strange days.
One of the things that has helped me in all this is remem-
bering that God is in control. Members realize how much they
miss being with one another. Our Zoom worship and other
meetings has seen others joining us too from other congrega-
tions across Scotland as well as from America, Africa, Asia,
and Australia. The world is a very small place in the church,
and the internet makes all in the church that bit more accessi-
ble.
We have no idea really what God has in mind, just that it is
something wonderful. We are better prepared for it, and the
church, I think, will be that little bit closer. We are especially
thankful that not one of our number has been struck with
Covid-19.
God is good and He has been especially good to us through
you.
Thank you. God bless you. Keep the faith.
In Christ’s love,

Youth Group Car Wash
Last Friday our Youth Group had a out-
reach carwash to our community. They
washed about 14 cars and signed up two
people for Bible correspondence courses.
Here is a note from a man that we
washed his car:
“Your Youth had a free car wash on Fri-
day the 19. I wasn’t allowed to pay so I
am sending you a donation of $20.
Thank You, I live in Calera and it is a
little far to travel for Church service”.
Thank You, Frank
He took a Bible Corr. Course.
