The words are quite different. Here is what one of the verses says... “Now in this noisy world, may I stay deaf to it all, to hear above wind, fire, storm and hurricane your tender voice of love.” It sounds more poetic than that in French, but I love the thought.” Oh, may we strive to close our ears to the noisy world so we can hear God’s voice of love! After all, Jesus said His Kingdom is far away from the noise of this world. His words spoken to Pilate might just help us today. “Jesus answered, ‘My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be deliv- ered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world.’Then Pilate said to him, ‘So you are a king?’ Jesus answered, ‘You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.” Pilate said to him, ‘What is truth” (John 8:36-38)? The purpose of Jesus’ birth was so that we would be of the truth and listen to His voice. We will hear His voice above the wind, fire, storm, and hurricane when we listen to the truth. Not the truth about a situation or a truth about a current event, but the truth that Jesus came to deliver us. The world responds like Pilate, but we are not of the world when we hear: His Voice Above the Noise. A Note From the Harp
