Today in our lesson we are focusing on encouragement. Some of the greatest encourage- ments have been positive effects of this global pandemic. We have been able to share the Gospel of Christ in new ways online. For the past year, each Sunday night (with the excep- tion of a few) we have conducted a digital fellowship with preachers in Andhra Pradesh, India. Our daily Facebook video messages put us in touch with one of the Indian preacher’s sons, Praveen. Praveen asked me if I could teach his friends the Gospel. I thought this was im- possible until he sent me a zoom link. This is where I met his whole family, including his uncle Venkat who, at 25 years old, speaks 5 languages including English. He has translated for us during every study. As Praveen has gone to college, our studies have shifted to edifi- cation for his father Abraham and 9 other preachers who gather weekly to take part in our studies. Bill and Sue Reed have taken part in helping with these studies and, at present, Bill is teaching the preachers from the book of Romans. The Indian preachers are now teaching the group as well, and Venkat translates the lessons for us into English. We have witnessed the growth of some of the younger preachers. The Indian brethren have requested anyone interested in joining in the study from Deerfoot to feel free to attend. It is an eye-opening and faith-building experience (please see Richard for Zoom information). Time difference means we meet at 9:00 p.m. Sunday evenings, while they meet at 7:30 a.m. Monday. Recently, the men requested bicycles as they travel on foot to surrounding villages holding Gospel Meetings. The elders agreed, and we just distributed 10 bicycles to the preachers on Sunday. We purchased them and had them shipped under budget. Each bicycle, with shipping and including a bike lock, cost us $140 USD per bicycle. Attached are the pic- tures of the distribution to the preachers and their wives. They are overjoyed and want us to thank you all for them! A Note from the Harp
