MISSION SUNDAY MISSIONARIES
David Bass
David has been preaching for 45 years. He has preached
in Kentucky, Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia. He has
been a missionary to Costa Rica, Scotland, India,
Russia.
David works with the Jamaica School of Preaching
teaching and training preachers online from all over the
world. This is a private institution affiliated with the
Church of Christ. The main campus is located in
Kingston, Jamaica. The school was started 54 years ago
in 1970. They train Christian men and women to spread
the good news in the French, Spanish and English
speaking Caribbean, North & Central America and as
far as Nepal in Asia. The school has graduates serving in
18 countries throughout the western world.
David just recently traveled to Jamaica to the school
and while there was able to preach and teach at the local
Church of Christ.
Joey Treat
Report from Joey:
I am currently working with the Gospel Broadcast
Network (GBN). I’m truly excited about this work
where I’ll be promoting for GBN — this is, traveling
to congregations and reporting on the good work GBN
does. There are several baptisms every month directly
as a result of GBN’s work.
One of my other duties is to conduct Bible studies
online with those who write in to GBN asking for them.
We are doing Bible studies with people from all over the
world as well as stateside. There is no better work!
I also work with Polishing the Pulpit, this year was
exciting and fun, as always. I was privileged to be able
to introduce all the missions’ speakers and record their
lessons at the Sevierville church of Christ. There were
missionaries of various ages from across the world come
in and deliver lessons. The experience they shared and
the principles they related were excellent for all those
attending. Missionaries were teaching and encouraging
missionaries. During the pre-session of PTP, there is a
new missions workshop. It starts with a meal and a
fellowship, then continues with excellent topics by
experienced missionaries.
Because PTP has outgrown the facilities at Sevierville, a
new PTP will start next year in Branson, Mo. Now there
will be two PTPs each year! We are truly excited about
this new opportunity. We hope to make the missions
workshop a time of edification and education for
missionaries for years to come.
