The document discusses feedback received on a student newspaper project from a questionnaire, social media, and a focus group. The questionnaire helped the student understand the target audience and decide what to include in the newspaper. Feedback from social media suggested reducing articles and white space. The focus group said to include more technology on the website and reduce text, but the student felt more images would make the newspaper too tabloid-like for the intended audience.

2. QUESTIONNAIRE
• The questionnaire was useful to understand the target audience that
I was going to be aiming my project at.
• The questionnaire was completed by twelve different candidates and
their views on newspapers were very helpful in the planning of my
newspaper.
• The questionnaire helped me to go on and decide what the
newspaper should feature and who should be the target audience.
• Feedback from the questionnaire helped me in the planning stages
of my project. I learnt that audience feedback restricts the amount
of mistakes that you make in the creative process. For example
rather than ignoring their opinions on the amount of images, I
instead followed them as I did for may things such as the masthead
style and the news coverage in a local newspaper. However there
are points that require a bit more research like the colours included
in a newspaper as their opinions are not definitive and infallibly
right.
4. SOCIAL MEDIA
• Uploading my documents to Scribd allowed the users on the site to
give my plans feedback.
• The feedback I received was ‘there are too many articles’ and ‘2
much white space’.
• To combat these issues I uploaded a revision of the documents.
• Other social media websites that I used were flickr, slideshare, and
wordpress. The users on these sites gave me feedback on my
projects that I was able to take on board. Their feedback allowed me
to develop my project and improve upon what was in progress.
• The feedback that helped me improve my work was ‘theres too much
glare on the photo’ in reference to the Red Star pub images,
and‘what is a tabloid?’ regarding the macro analysis on slideshare
compelling me to upload a revision.
5. FOCUS GROUP
• The feedback from the focus group during the construction of my
project was that there needed to be more technology on the website.
• Other feedback was that the newspaper was too ‘text heavy’.
• I didn’t, however reflect all of their criticism in my work. This is
because including more images within my newspaper would make it
seem too tabloid-like, whilst I understood their criticism I felt that it
wouldn’t meet the target audience that I was aiming for.
• I did follow their criticism about the lack of technological
convergence on the website.
• Although the group has ideas about my work not all of them can be
applied to my target audience therefore making some of the
feedback obsolete to my project.
