Peek at the Week:
o This week in Reading students were introduced to the
consonant sound of /t/ and our new high frequency
words “we, at”.
o Also, in Reading, we identified and recalled story details,
discussed fantasy and reality and blended short /a/ and
/i/ words.
o In Math, we started Chapter Four, model and count up
to ten, and used the shape template.
o In Science, we explored relationships between people
and animals.
o Students practiced printing the uppercase and lowercase
letter Tt.
Coming Up:
o Next week in Reading students will be
introduced to the consonant sound of the
hard /c/ and our new high frequency
words “are, to”.
o Also, in Reading, we will identify opposites
and make predictions.
o In Math, we will continue working with
comparing numbers up to ten. We will use
vocabulary “greater, less” than.
o In Science, we will explore how animals and
plants get what they need in their
environment.
o Students will learn how to print the
uppercase and lowercase letter Cc.
o Students are working on writing using
sounds they hear, spacing between words
and writing complete sentences.
As we approach the middle of the second marking period, I
would like to share with you the skills your student is working
on and the goal for midyear. You can work with your child
through daily activities to reinforce what they are learning.
