Our week
o This week in Reading, the students were introduced to
the consonant sound of /c/ and our new high frequency
words “are, to”. Also, we identified and recalled story
details, practiced opposites and reviewedfantasy and
reality.
o Students practiced printing the uppercase and
lowercase letter Cc, and the full name.
o In Math, we did not get much done due to delays. We
continue to work on identifying shapes, counting by
tens, as well as ones to 100.
o One of our main goals at this time is to get students to
talk about stories. Verbalize who the characters are and
where/when the story takes place. Is there a problem or
solution? Identify the beginning, middle and end.
*Reminders*
Continue to follow the December calendar and don’t forget to participate in our themed days.
Please send in items for our Christmas Present Opening in before Wednesday.
Don’t forget to bring slippers or robes/pjs for Polar Express Day as described in the letter.
With the weather getting colder, please make sure your child is dressed appropriately. On nice
days, we will go outside for recess. It’s important that they are dressed appropriately!
We have gym at this time so sneakers can be left in the school for students that wear boots to
change. Our last day of gym will be Monday.
Rest time items will come home over the Christmas break to be laundered.
