1. Project Brief - Implementation of BIM on Linearly dependent Projects (Roads, Bridges, Tunnels, etc.)
Linearly Dependent Construction Projects:
The construction projects of this type have all their construction
sub-elements depended from one (or more) linear alignments,
which are called 3D Alignments. Road layered structures, retaining
walls, base and roof slabs, tunnel tubes or bridge decks are
examples of elements on such projects.
This particular project features a 2.85 Km Road with a 607 m Road
and LRT tunnel, which revolves in space by dependency on a
horizontal and a vertical alignment. Moreover, a network of MEP
utilities cover all road length from either side of road and
occasionally above the tunnel.
Though usual in infrastructure projects, this is a particularly
difficult geometry to model aforementioned elements in 3D. The
Linear dependency required tools beyond a โusualโ modelling
toolset, therefore the utilization Bentleyโs PowerInRoadโs was
obligatory.
For the MEP Utilities, a special toolset was developed to
accommodate all geometry modelling.
In both cases, after the utilisation of modelling tools, model
element properties and attributes were applied on them to โcarryโ
more than geometricalinformation.

8. CP07-C-1A Commercial Boulevard (Road A3) BIM Scope:
1. 3D Design Coordination (clash analysis) including identification, coordination, and resolution
of clashes between all trades; Contractor shall submit clashes resolution report for Client
approval before proceeding with respective construction work.
2. 3D Interface Coordination of utilities (wet and dry) within package and with adjacent packages
for continuity, connection, and clash resolution; Contractor shall submit interface
coordination report for Client approval before proceeding with respective construction work.
3. Construction and Site Management include, but are not limited to progress monitoring, cost
control, site and logistics planning (e.g. optimizing logistic roads layout, security accesses and
coordination of dewatering routes), reporting of testing and commissioning activities
4. Close-out Documentation handover to be used for information hand-over to CGIS and other
local authorities, and to prepare operation and maintenance of built assets.
5. The model shall be extended by Contractor to include any and all activities directly or
indirectly related to design, construction and documentation of the PROJECT all as required by
Client from time to time.
6. Contractor shall provide federated and fully coordinated BUILDING INFORMATION MODELS
representing the latest available drawings at specific PROJECT milestones, developed to an
agreed and acceptable Level of Development (LOD).
7. All BIMmilestones are conditions for approval of Contractorโs invoices.

6. Automated Modelling QA-QC with C3D & MTO
Due to dual (internal and client) BIM Naming conventions, Model against Data consistency QC
checks had to be performed within Common Data Environment. The tool where these checks
are automatically conducted is an In-house fullydeveloped software, called C3D. Should any of
these tests returns positive, MTO is not uploaded to C3D Database. Indicative checks:
1. MTO File Extension:should be .xlsx.
2. Number of sheets inspreadsheet. Shouldbe 1 sheet only.
3. Column naming/Invalid Columns.
4. Invalidreferenced model files.
5. Null columns.
