3. How do we form them?
• For all* one-syllable adjectives (big, loud) and most two-syllable
adjectives, you form the comparative by adding –er
• For the rest of the adjectives, you add more before the adjective
Be careful with
spelling!
• ´y´ at the end of an
adjective becomes
´i´
• Sometimes the
final letter (g,t) is
doubled
*Good and bad are
irregular.
Good becomes better
Bad becomes worse
The shark is bigger than the fish Lisa is more intelligent than Bart
Remember
to put
´than´after
the
adjective!
