The United States government is the federal government of the America's fifty states, as well as one capital district, and several other territories. The
federal government is composed of three distinct branches: legislative, executive, and judicial, whose powers are settled by the U.S. Constitution in
Congress, our President, and the federal courts (including the Supreme Court). The powers of these branches are defined by acts of Congress, including
the creation of the executive departments and of the courts secondary to the Supreme Court.
The outline of the government of America is laid out in the Constitution. The government was formed in 1789, making the United States one of the
world 's first modern national republic. The United States government is based on the different principles of federalism and republicanism, in which
the power is shared between the federal and state governments. The interpretation and execution of these principles has been debated ever since the
adoption of the Constitution. Some are in support of extensive federal powers while others argue for a more limited role in relation to individuals.

The United States Government is defined in many different ways. The most common that we hear are the forms of democracy and republic. Although
very similar, these are very loose terms when it comes to categorizing our government. The respect for human rights and involvement of the nation's
people have been a main priority in the running of the government since the beginning. Unfortunately, over time, we are seeing our freedoms and
individual participation in the governments decisions slowly declining in many aspects. This makes us question the government and our ultimates
rights as citizens that we currently have. The support we have for democracy is our support towards religious freedom, worker rights, and also helps
create a more stable and affluent system that manages our nation's control and gives us the ability to have a bigger voices around the world.
In general, a democracy is a form of government that gives power to the people. There are various forms that specify the amount of power and to
whom it is admitted. A direct democracy is "a form of government in which the people decide policy matters directly"(Mott 1), for example voting on
ballot referendums or attending town hall meetings. The people make the policies and complete decisions based on majority rule. The nation's vast

When voters elect representatives, they elect the leaders who will mold the future of the society. This is the reason why elections entitle an ordinary
resident; it allows people to influence the future policies of the government, and people's future. The United States relies on a complex system of
government, where the national government is central but state and local governments utilize control over affairs that are not meant for the federal
government. State and local governments have varying degrees of independence in how the organize elections within their jurisdiction, but they hold
frequent and self–administered elections.
Research on party control and the spread of public expenditures in the United States is sparse. Several studies of the United States federal government
shows a positive association between share of spending going to a district and the Democratic vote in that area. Considering that Democrats were the
majority in Congress during the observed year, the studied results reflect the behavior of the Democratic Party and the features of areas that tend to
vote for Democratic party. Bipartisan system may be ideal, but it is clearly not a extensive event in the United States. Republicans dominate the
Northeast and Middle West while the Democrats dominate the southern states. Republicans are seen as the conservative and emphasize their ideology
on property rights and buildup of wealth and the Democrats are seen to favor social and economic policies. The

The government affects Americans in several ways that many fail to realize. One could not walk down the street without seeing the government's
effect on our everyday lives. The questions we may have though are what are the levels of government? What is federalism? How does the
government affect individuals every day? Do we need government? Do Americans appreciate the importance of our government? These are all

Regulation is a major activity at all levels of government. As society becomes more complex, regulations must grow and evolved to meet the

Those who campaign have a hard time reaching out to the young community. Most college students do not own a television set, therefore are not well

The United States federal government should limit the influx of refugees into the United States. Currently, three different entities oversee the United
States Refugee Admissions Program. These entities are the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration, which falls under the Department of State,

Today, we categorize those who supported ratification of the Constitution and the federal government as the Federalist. Those who opposed it are
known as the Anti–Federalist. The Anti–Federalist feared that this new government design would be too powerful and tyrannical just like the monarch

Laws begin as ideas. First, a representative sponsors a bill. The bill is then assigned to a committee for study. If released by the committee, the bill

The United States government was created by the founding fathers to allow men to be free, but to also have a governmental system that protects that
freedom as well. The United States government is problematic. It goes above and beyond the necessity and, because of this, is dysfunctional at best.
The government today has gone beyond protecting the rights of American citizens. It has become a large entity that is wholly useless. The
government of the United States is too large, therefore, this creates many problems with things like governmental overreach and extreme inefficiency.
A smaller government would be more functional and could return to a more efficient, and likely constitutional basis of existence. It may be difficult
to move to a smaller government if the United States cannot figure out a good way to do this. The size of the government has made it to be
inefficient for almost everyone to use. Unless one has insider knowledge, they must stand at the back of a seemingly stagnant line to do simple tasks

In the book The Net Government of the United States by Donald F. Kettl is an inspiring and at times radical look at our government and its day to day
attributes to our society. The ways in which the government operates and the agencies it employs are examined through and through. The author makes
many arguments for their failures and against the system itself. This all leads to an opinion and analysis of a way to fix the system. The power of the
government to make decisions should be purely of their own right and if the American people vote for these people then they are the leaders. There
is no way to accurately fix our system and the theories and conclusions drawn up by Kettl are intriguing, but there is room for more calculation. The
book presented multiple terms and theories that I could beacon to. The four that presented me with the biggest ideological standpoints are: The
