1. Looking Back At Your Preliminary Task, What Do You Feel You
Have Learnt In The Progression From It To The Full Product?
From my preliminary task I feel I have progressed and learnt a lot. For my real product I did
a lot of research into fonts, images, and planned a lot more, such as times and locations for
my photos, rather than walking round the school and just deciding on a spot. I had to retake
some images as when taking them they felt like a good idea, but then when looking back
and trying them fitted into the magazine, they did not work as well, so I went over and
above what was planned to make sure I got the outcome I wanted. I also made my product
differently by using PS CS5 rather than elements, this is the version I had at home, so meant
I could spend time on it easier without worrying on compatibility problems, and also I knew
how to use it a lot more and how it was all set out, meaning I did not waste time in the
production trying to work out were something is that I wanted to use. The time used on my
preliminaries was a lot shorter than the final products I made, which can be seen in the
quality of the final outcomes, compared to the preliminary tasks. The preliminaries were
quite rushed, and if I couldn’t do something I changed it to something that looked different
to what I wanted, but in my finals I spent time to research how it needed to be done so I
could get exactly what I wanted.
