1. Looking back at the
preliminary task what do you
feel you have learnt in the
progression from it to a full
product?
2. Looking back on my preliminary tasks and comparing it to
my main music task I can see a significant learning curve
that has helped me create a better looking professional
magazine:
These things include learning how to
manage my time between each of my final
pieces for instance managing the level of
time I spend on each piece. This I believe
has been a success by it helping me to
produce final products that are all to the
same level. In addition to this I have learnt
how to gather my human resources in this
case the people involved in this production
In addition understanding of when such as my models and so I’m then
certain shots aren't good or looking focusing my time on gaining the best shots
professional. possible.
I believe I have learnt a variety of new skills
such as the use certain pieces of equipment to
the best of my ability understanding where the
lighting should be positioned as well as making
sure that my camera is in focus and ready to
achieve the best quality photos.
3. In my feedback they pointed out
that they liked the layout that I
had and it had good structure to
it. This was a main influence from
looking at past pop magazines
and music magazines in general I
wanted as I stated in my colour
palette and adjectives section
that I wanted it to be “slick” I I learnt from reading other music
believe that I have learnt how to magazines that many of them
recreate this in my magazine spoke to the audience in their
from my research into real pop form of address. So this is what I
magazines such as “we love pop” tried to recreate and thus why I
chose to speak in a colloquial
tone when writing. This was
something I felt I did well to
appeal to my audience.
There were many times where I had to solve some
problems that I had when cutting out my models. I used
many different tools but the majority didn’t work well
enough to give a detailed cut however I started using
the magnetic tool which made it easier to cut out the
model as well as making it much more detailed which
improved the professionalism of the magazine.
4. I decided to use the green screen for the majority of my
photos because similarly to the professional music
magazines I wanted to create that slickness and
professionalism look to make mine look like a real music
magazine. I planned to do this after I had done my
preliminary tasks. This planning was what helped give
me ideas of the types of shots that I wanted top use this
was evident in the drafts that I made of my front cover
contents page and double page spreads.
