Unblocking The Main Thread Solving ANRs and Frozen Frames
Evaluation 7
1. Evaluation 7 - Looking back at
your preliminary task, what do
you feel you have learnt in the
progression from it to the full
product?
2. The preliminary task was to create a front cover and contents
page of a school magazine. From looking back at the preliminary
task my skills were not as advanced within using the different
technologies, I was mainly testing the technologies out.
3. Time management was one of the main issues with the Preliminary
task, although I had been given set dates by my teachers for deadlines I didn’t
organise myself as efficiently as I should of done, after I had finished the
Preliminary task I knew that my work was not to its full potential and realised
the main reason for this was not managing my time correctly. I then decided
that when I started the music magazine task that I would create a schedule for
myself, setting dates for when different parts of my work needed to be
completed by, I kept to the dates within my schedule. Creating the schedule
was very successful as I believe my work has improved from the Preliminary
task.
4. Another element I feel that I have improved on in comparison to the
Preliminary task was the research. The lack of research done within the
Preliminary task didn’t allow the media product to reach the full
potential. I therefore decided to research a lot into the music magazine
task as I wanted to have knowledge on what I needed to create to
include conventions of real life media products.
5. My photography skills during the Preliminary task were not as
progressive as they are now. During the music magazine task my
photography skills improved as I was understanding aspects in
photography that will create a good photograph. I realised after looking
at the two different front covers of the two tasks photography can really
either strengthen or weaken your product and it is a key element to use
the correct shot.
6. The Preliminary task was the first time I had used Adobe InDesign, and
therefore I was learning how to use the programme. Using the
programme for a second time proved to be more familiar and
easier, therefore having learned some skills I was able to apply these to
the music magazine task.
7. Overall I feel like my skills within all
areas of the production and the
process of it have
improved, therefore I was able to
create a more improved final
production for the music magazine
task.
